Yes, I guess Irma was a little rude to walk out of the apartment at 5:48 and not accept the present, even if it's not something she had in mind. (Maybe when she pointed the ring to Mr. Bean when she was with him at the jewelry store, she should have said something like "I want that ring more than anything but I don't have enough money to buy it" instead of being silent. Then I'm sure Mr. Bean would have bought it for her since he thought she was pointing to the poster and not the ring.
