  • The Lusitania was cunard a rival of the white star line

  • isn't it odd that the britannic, titanic, and lusitania all sank similarly?

  • @CvJoey12

the iceberg in 1912 was a german sub then?

i knew the germans were good with camouflage but THAT great? :D

  • @JheakrynaKyAlur I'm talking about the style they sank, not what hit them

  • Lusitania was a British Liner, owned by a British Steam Ship Company, Cunard.

  • Comment removed

  • can someone tell me how to pronounce it?

  • @mikeyboyohio loo-si-tey-nee-uh

  • Just a tip for your next video: put the pictures in the order of what happened.

  • that looks like a ripoff of the titanic

  • @Cibernetize Lusitania was Built couple years Before the Titanic

  • What a waste, oh for nothing

  • @kibbsmycat23 Lusitania was Cunard, not White Star.

Nice photos, but I've never, ever, liked that song (and I'm a long-time Star Trek fan).

  • @terentii Lusitania was owned by american.

  • @sideslide23 Your point being...?

  • @sideslide23 no its not. she's built by john brown company in scotland , nd later owned by the cunard line, which is a british AND americann shipping company!

  • TITANIC BRITANIC OLIMPIC and LUSITANIA is beatiful ships

  • My More Than one great grand mothers rode it and got off right before it sank

  • r.i.p lusitania :(

  • RMS Lusitania was the first Cunard SuperLiner of the 20th century. She was a beautiful fast Ocean Liner. Lusitania.

  • 2:05 is Empress of Ireland wreck

  • in the memory of the rms titanic and hmh britannic and rms

    Lusitania

  • star trek version of the song is better xD good vid thumbs up!

  • Only 1 torpedo and a cargo of ammunition ,gellignite and gun cotton, added effects of a longitudinal coal bunker explosion......boom voyage to the bottom of the sea.Winnie even arranged to tip off her whereabouts to guarentee Americas rage and entry into WW!.

  • @MrBuddydan Definite on 1 torpedo only not several! Secret cargo of some 1200 cases of explosive ordinance real cause of explosions that sent her down.

  • 1:34 is the first picture i ever saw of the RMS Lusitania

  • She was a beautiful ship, like the Titanic, Empress of Ireland, Britannic, Normandy, and Andrea Doria. The ships had very tragic fates, but they were made with care all the same - no ship however is unsinkable.

  • ¿CUAL ERA EL BARCO MAS GRANDE EL TITANIC O EL LUSITANIA?

  • @ferromex100 Titanic was about 100' longer and heavier. The Lusitania and her sister Mauretania were 790' and faster.Sorry, don't know much Spanish.

  • @ferromex100 NO SOY DE ESTADOS UNIDOS SOY DE MEXICO

  • how come like every big ship sinks just wandering like no huge ship has made it to its destination

  • Loss of life is unfortunate, But I'm glad she sank. I rather have the ocean claim her then the scrap merchants breaking her like they did with Mauretania & Aquitania

  • only 1 torpedo hitted but the boiler room did impolde soo power was knockt of and water tight doors could'nt close second @puercochin how can coal dust excplode IF you need oxygen too make fire cause without oxygen they would all die down there!

  • @longer393

The boilers themselves exploded. Hitting something about 3,000 degrees Farenheit with 52 degree ocean water will make it explode. that in turn ripped the ship apart.

  • yes that is the real photos...my friend

  • 0:47 is that a real photo?

  • Nice video, but only ONE torpedo was fired to sink the Lusitania, not several.

  • something about these 4 stack steamers. they all sink

  • @w00tbeerisgood Are you saying if someone built a steamer with four stacks today, you wouldn't sail upon her?

  • for some historical researchers, Lusitania carried weapons & ammo, due to fact that german subs wouldn't hit with torpedoes a passenger liner. The torpedo caused the explosion of ammo inside.

  • standycam, the Lusitania was not with army color because when he sank , people on board were citizen, not soldiers. And he carried 150 american when he was torpedoed. Its why the USA enter in WW. ( sorry for my bad english )

  • Did the Lusitania have navy blue funnels or red and black funnels?

  • @standingcam

red funnels with black on top, official colour of Cunard Line.

White Star Line instead had yellow funnels with black on top.

  • star trek lol.

  • Hey DarthByron56,

The Lusistania was sunk by ONE torpedo. Another explosion came after the first torpedo hit but was not another torpedo

  • The Lusistania was sunk by TWO torpedoS THE1 SHOT THE BOTTOM THE2 HIT THE COAL DUST AND OXYGEN AND COAL DUST MAKES A FLAME

  • @puercochin i am sorry to man but you are wrong it was sunk by one torpedo. I remember seeing it on a discovery channel special a couple of years ago, and reading about it on the internet not to long ago

  • hey brittanic productions at least look at google to see if breitannic hit a mine because it was torpedoed a britannic surviver even said it was torpedoed

  • On britannic, a torpedo DID hit it but then it ALSO hit a mine doubling the damage

  • No that's not it it was hit by one torpedo and then the other explosion was one of the engines.

  • like QE2

  • Good video!

  • aside from the song getting cut short at the end, this is awesome.

  • What's the na,me of song.

    Pliss tell me ;D

  • I don't know who's singing this version, but it's called "where my heart will take me" and russell watson sings it.

  • The Picture at 1:10... I'd love to be in a city hotel, looking out at the coast and see that cruising out into sea! Damn..too bad it sunk..

  • its felling bad for me becuse the titanic Britannica and the ship was finshed

  • why sunk all four stacker? (except Olympic and Aquitania)

    it´s so terrible

  • l think in 3:22 it is Aquitania or Mauretania.....

  • Your right, its Mauretania. The difference is the type of cowls to the vents along the top deck. M has the traditional ones shown, while L has shorter ones with a hinged lid on top. They where not very sucessful and were gradually replaced.

  • This is a lovely song but it is totally inappropiate for the subject matter of this video. Over 1,000 people died on this ship, 10% of them children!

  • what is the song?

  • faith of heart

  • who sung it?

  • i forgot sry :(

  • i just looked it up the original is not this...the original sounds just like this but its sung by russel watson

  • this version is sung by rod stewert

  • i mean rod stewart.....whoops lol :)

  • Man, Lusitania is one big beauty!

  • and one giant speedboat!

she was the fastest 4-stacker in the world

  • no i think that the titanic was.....idk from what i heard her sister ship the titanic was....

  • look at the picture in 0:12 there are 4 propellers

  • yea i know but the titanic had more boilers and bigger props for the titanic was FAR bigger that the lusitania and bigger engines.....plus those props have 3 blades and 2 of the titanics props had 3 blades but they were bigger...and the center prop on the titanic was the same size and had 4 blades....the titanic had a top speed oif about 30 knots.....the lusitania had a top speed of about 24 knots.....so the titanic is faster by a few knots

  • so far, archeologists find that the speed of titanc is just 25 knots while this ship sails at 30 knots

  • Titanic was not Lusitania's sister. Far from it, they were from two different competing companies. Titanic's two sisters were the Olympic and the Britannic.

  • No, it wasn't ANY of White Star's ships that went down with a torpedo. The Titanic hit an Iceberg, and the Britannic went down after hitting a mine.

  • Happy sinking anniversary Lucy!!!!!!! :)))

  • have you heard the theory that the Lusitania was condemned by the US government to allow the USA to enter the first world war? simply put american citizens on a ship, send it into German controlled waters, and once it gets destroyed, play it up to enrage the people into accepting entry into WW1. they even posted a warning in the paper a day or two before its departure. they supposedly did the same with pearl harbor for WW2, and the WTC for the most recent war in Afghanistan. aswell as others

  • it is a german WWI U-boat submarine that torpedoed Lusitania, many americans died, and that made them declare war against germany

  • wasnt he U-boat commander actually loking for the lusitania to show off to his superiors?

  • Comment removed

  • not funny

  • if many people die in a sinking of a torpedoed ship, like this, and there is a world war, war breaks out

  • u-20 where doomed they madse wrong diesoin sinkng lusitania we beet them in war 2 times they bad at war

  • I'm in the middle of a book about the Lusitania and according to the book, it wasn't a torpedo but some kind of explosion in the munitions chamber.

  • actualy a torpedo did hit here but a second massive explosion rocked the ship minets later most poeple speculate she was transporting wepons for the war making here game for a sub but brittan held here as a civilion liner and out of the war some think it was a set up so america would enter the war (WW1)

  • oh and it was only one torpedo

  • Actually, the newest theory is that her steam lines burst, causing the second explosion. She was hit by only one torpedo, but there were two blasts. There was a major drop in steam pressure after the second one, giving more credence to this than the coal dust proposal. Never, before or since, had a ship had their coal bunkers explode from dust, plus with thousands of tons of water pouring in, the conditions were too damp. The ship plowing her way forward until she sank, travelling 2 miles.

  • i never heard that before. i stuck to the story when it hit the ammunitions

  • what is the song?

  • Faith of the Heart

    Rod Stewart Version

  • As opposed to "enterprise" version ;-)

  • okey thanks

  • well change it!

  • that explosion onthe second funnel was sick.

  • Sank by 1 torpedo only. Not several

  • they were debating whether she was carrying munitions or whether it was her nearly eempty coal bunkers which exploded, cause coal dust mixed with oxygen is as explosive as dynamite when ignited
