@MrReed401 that is not true, cause i dont know if you have heard of them but, Jpizzle1122, people who shoot is it a good idea to microwave this, used this camera, and just today they upgraded to canon SX30
Its got awesome video. The only thing that pisses me off is that in low light it keeps re focusing which wrecks the video, Since i video local gigs and stuff , sometimes the lighting isnt great , But other than that its fuckin excellent
Maybe im also putting it on the wrong setting or something i dunno
I am about to buy this cam I had the S5 IS and had no troubles with it but now i want to shoot in HD thats why im getting it. the one feature that i like the best is the swivel screen. Because of the screen i was able to take footage in hard to reach areas i cam put the camera way over my head and still see what i am shooting or way down below on the floor and still get a good shot.
first apologize for my poor English, my sony distorted sound when recording at concerts (is hard) on my panasonic clear sound in the same concert, canon such records how the sound is loud?
I bought this cam last week and love it! Awesome zoom and excellent HD vid in crisp stereo sound (even if this cam is a little bulkier and heavier than the Lumix).
The Lumix is really good too, but I don't care for raw files, the mic pickup sounds horrible, and there is no pop out swivel LCD like the Canon. It's a pain trying to take movies or pics always looking at the fixed lcd screen.
Too bad that the FZ35 video was shot on an overcast/hazy day and this one is in bright sun. It's hard to tell if the washed-out aspect of the FZ35 is because of the lighting or the camera. This image quality really pops! (And so does the wind noise...)
Yes, the weather conditions were different. Sorry for that but I will try to get another one with FZ35 in a better day. Luckily we are in SoCal and having good weather more often. :)
At 2:42 a glare off the back window results in a subtle vertical line, but not nearly as obvious as it would be on the Panasonic FZ35 where it would have shown up as a thick purple line.
Again, CCD cameras used for video inherit this problem with shots that have a bright spot, glare, or reflection.. It's just that some handle it better than others. CMOS cameras do not have that problem at all (just the rolling shutter effect).
Thanks for the examples and wide variety of shots.
Check my videos all recorded by Canon SX 20is.It's great camera!

for me the big difference between the FZ35 and this one is the rotational screen the Canon has... it makes everything more easier...

Are the zoom, AF and aperture adjustments on the FZ35 as quiet as they are on the Canon?
