Talkin to insurance adjuster honest I have no idea how that happened... I parked at Wal-Mart and when I came out from shopping this is how it looked... lol
Yea, you're right I don't off-road at all. I've only driven the Baja 1000, traversed the Andes via Land Cruiser, 4x4'd on all 7 continents, gone on climbing expeditions to Everest, Denali, Kilimanjaro, & Aconcagua all in Toyota Land Cruisers, and much more. I own (each 4x4 is fully customized): '77 FJ40, '80 FJ60, a FJ45, FJ Cruiser, TLC Icon Baja, G55AMG, LR Def110, '77 Unimog 416 DoKa, Hilux from Artic Trucks, and a few more.
Looks like it's you who are the ass fag there buddy boy.
@asianboi1216 you are a retard an H1 wouldn't even fit in that ditch, they weigh to much to mud and they cant go far because of gas and they are to big for trails, H1s SUCK at off roading dumb ass. and their drive train is the SAME as a Jeep's!!
hummers don't roll over buddy. Jeeps compensate high clearance for less center of gravity. It's like putting a smaller truck on lifts. Hummers, on the other hand, have all the transmission where the passenger sits. Literally between the driver and front passenger...so center of gravity is awesome, and it's low to the ground, with tons of clearance, so this trail is no problem for hummers. Check out some videos.
@asianboi1216 Hummers aren't nearly as bad as Jeeps, but they do roll over fairly easily. The problem is that while Jeeps roll super easy, they roll back over super easy. Hummer's on the other hand are next to impossible to roll back over once they've gone belly up. The solution is get a Land Cruiser, they're harder to flip than a Hummer (you pretty much have to go out of your way to make them roll on purpose), but if they do roll, you can right them with ease. It's simple superior design.
No, Hummers suck balls too (I'd rather have a Jeep, and Jeeps are shit-boxes). Jeep owners don't need anyone to get them out of trouble, they don't even need winches, they just hit the gas - flip, and roll their way out of the problem as is so eloquently demonstrated in this video.
The fatal flaw in this driver's excuse: If I'm heading up a seam like this and my left front starts heading up into the air and I can't see my spotter, I *stop*. I then wait either for my spotter to come running to my window to tell me what I should be doing, or for him to tell me over my CB radio what I should be doing, or for him to send a runner to tell me what I should be doing. Bulling forward when you can't see your spotter is *STUPID*.
Driver didn't watch or lost view of the spotter. Looks like an inexperienced drive too, usually anybody thats been around can tell when they start lifting tires and back off to see what the spotter tells them to do. I would also bet that provided the radiator was intact they probably drove that jeep away. Its just sheet metal
Always pay attention to your spotter, he can see things the driver can't. Notice that when the spotter points left, the driver ignores him, and that's when it all goes to crap after that.
rock crawling is for rich people who dont care if they smash up a really nice rig they will just laugh about it and buy a better one they should atleast buy imports and fuck up those...
not true man rock crawlings for everyone i have an old 82 jeep that ive put alittle over $3500 into and thats my rock crawler and i can do most of the things a $50,000 truck can do
That was funny oh oh over oh oh no.. Should allway listen to your spoter he was pointing where he needed to steer. We use radios so even if you can't see them you can hear them.
@CrwlrZk They're also built by the lowest bidder which means that they were the worst but cheapest option for the US Gov. There's a reason that private contractors, expeditions, and pretty much everyone outside the US chooses Land Cruiser. They'll go places no Hummer or Jeep can even come close, and they'll get there without using insane amounts of fuel. Hummers get about 6-7 mpg off road, Land Cruisers get about 18-20mpg off road, & with upgrades that I have you can get about 28mpg off road).
@verasforzza For some one who claims to be an expert on 4x4s world wide, you sure are an idiot. First milspec jeeps decades ago have very little in common with modern jeeps. People choose Land Cruisers because they are bigger and more plush not more capable. And since you Land Cruiser guys think your rigs are so capable maybe you can quit parking at the bottom of the "jeep" trails and follow us up (when I drove this weeks ago there was 3 LC at the entrance of Hells Revenge that never entered)
@caguru Fail. FJ40, 55, 60, 62 and 70 aren't more plush, and yes they are FAR SUPERIOR.
Too bad you're full of shit sport. A stock FJ can do Hell's Gate no problem (ton's of vids in here). If someone doesn't enter then it's not a question ability, maybe they just don't want to.
Finally, unlike you, I own a top of the line Jeep (AEV Brute) with 40"s, guess what, my FJ's (I own everything from a 40 to an 80) fully custom, cost less, have more power/torque, and are more capable with smaller tires
@verasforzza butthurt much? I said LCs are more plush which they are! They started that crap with the 80 series and haven't stopped since. Sure you could pick and choose the good ole days when they made hardcore 4x4s.
Plus I would never do the brute conversion because that is AEV's worst product in my opinion. I like their suspension, tummy tuck and highline kit but they can keep the rest.
I think you have spent too much time in the garage polishing your overpriced 4x4s.
I've seen this before, but it's clearly a case of the driver not watching his spotter. Watch the video again and focus on the spotter while keeping the Jeep in the "backrgound" of your attention. It is real clear the spotter gave the double hand "passenger side" command with a great plenty of time for the driver to correct, but the driver just kept going driver. He was paying absolutely NO attention to his spotter. Driver's fault entirely.
The spotter saw what was happening. At 15 sec. he motions driver right, then at 17 sec. people are yelling but still no driver response. At 19 sec it's too late for the newbee.
The way I saw this vid, it looks like at :12 the spotter motions left but it wasn't needed. To me, this is confirmed as the spotter motions straight at :14 (the vehicle did not turn). Soon after, the left front wheel is moving up at :15, which pulls the position of the line at which time the spotter motions right but it's too late - I doubt the driver could even see the spotter by then... Hard mistake. Bummer.
Anyone with any seat time, and who has been on an obstacle like this, will know that you can lose sight of your spotter for a split second and over you go. On a spot this steep (the angle of the camera gives you no idea of how verticle this really is) a lot of times all you see is hood and sky for that one small moment. I've even seen the pros lose it this way.
the dude in the jeep never turned to his right thats why he flipped, if he would have, he would have went further down the slope and both wheels would have been on the ground. but the dude kept going forward which lifted the other side off and.. the rest is just history
look in and about :14 or :15,you will see that.... well ,,, maybe .. yes it might have been to late for a slow person to react to.. but he did indicate the correct directions......period
That's what its about, building something you know some day it might get messed up.Go have some fun with your creation and don't get to attached to it.
