Pilger unfortunately like many others on the Left, seem to fall into the trap of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend", and therefore since Ahmadinejad is the enemy of US imperialism, he should be supported, even in the face of a pro-democratic movement that wishes to bring more substantial democracy to Iran.if it means condemning, or downplaying in Pilger's case, a genuine, a pro-democracy movement.
He's pretty right on as usual with Honduras though.
he's absolutely right! US press-media greatly exaggerated the election events in Iran presenting them as a new revolution or counterrevolution, if you wish. nothing like that. except for hundreds youngsters absolute majority of protesters wanted just some changes but by no means revolution.
on the contrary, the big strike against democracy in Honduras was sort of downplayed in press-media. expression of solidarity with Zelaya was rather weak and never US press-media called for sanctions.
Good film laying it out as MSM
will never do.
