Peter "Chewbacca" Cetera looks stoned off his nut with the Creedence Clearwater Revival look!!! And interesting to see him play bass with his fingers, something he did rarely!!
@brilliantos I noticed in vintage concert footage he always played this bass (Gibson EB-3) with his fingers. When I saw Chicago in the 80's he mostly used a pick on his Fender Precision Bass but switched to his fingers for certain songs such as this one.
The only thing that mattered back then was performing great music. Nobody gave a shit on how they looked or how you dressed. It was about putting out great music. Today, it is the exact opposite.
1973.... Just got off the phone with my 53 year old sister.... talked about how I danced with her when I was 5 years old in early '73 with her on her on her 16th birthday party...... I so remember the band playing this song...... I'm so drunk and remembering that day 37 years later today........
One would think that after listening to these songs over and over again for DECADES that one might grow tired of them and put them on a shelf for a much later trip down memory lane. Not a chance! I will be listening to them on my IPod when I'm in a nursing home with my new dentures and new hips. Carlos, Tú eres el hombre! Gracias por todos los grandes videos y por favor, mantenga el gran trabajo! Saludos, Carina

Its amazing, im 28, and pretty much never heard of chicago"the band" then i hear this song, Wow talk about a band! and i love the music i grew up with, and still enjoy some of the new bands, but this is a great example why mid 60 thu earlie 80s had the best music
I'm glad someone brought up Bill Champlin below, because he never should have been brought on board. Oh, the man is talented, but what he basically did was make Robert Lamm a wash, and it's quite sad. Lamm is a better keyboard player and in my opinion a better vocalist. Instead, Champlin became the lead keyboard player and eventually the lead singer in the late 80's, early 90's. Lamm languished away in the background, and it's been a colossal waste of his abilities.
was born in 69, the year this song was recorded for their first album.... great to know that others around my age can appreciate this.... "beginnings" "saturday in the park" "make me smile" more of my faves too
I remember being a young child in the car listening to this on the radio and even then I knew the band was something special!! Awesome band, AWESOME ERA!
Man 72, wow i was 1 yrs old. As a 37 yr old i still cant get over their music. These guys are Legends in my book. No one can ever do as they did. Amen.
Theres so many great supporters of Terry Kath on YouTube. Just wanted to let you know about an opportunity to support Terrys legacy by signing a petition for him.
Just Google "Gopetition Terry Kath" and youll find the site.
There are a lot of cool things being said about him there. It will help make sure future musicians and listeners get to hear his music and know his name.

It's time to set you clocks back! except for AZ. They want to be from a different time zone., then the rest of us. I can drive a mile an lose an hour! That's. a maverick for ya!
Yeah but he sure looks and sounds good in every one of them. Fantastic songwriter and singer for 40 years. Wrote this one and 25 or 6 to 4-a rip it up rocker.Put him in the same category with McCartney.
Looks like they wasted during this performance, as most bands were in that era. But oh the memories this brings back. good times with the real CHICAGO
I do believe that Peter Cetera just snorted something that was handed to him by another band member. Granted, it was 1972, but I always had a fantasy that Chicago was/is clean, sober & straight. They are still a great band, if not the greatest. They play REAL music & I just Love their horn section!!!
very hard to watch these videos. this was my dads favorite band and as a kid i grew up with this sound and now he is gone. wow, the feeling and pain a song can do to someone.... i love you dad!
I had a 13Q bumper sticker for the longest time. . .I finally put it on the front of my Amiga 1000 computer, must've been 10 years after 13Q was off the air.
No WAY! It has always been ROBERT LAMM's voice! It's his song and HIS voice on this song for more than 41 years now! Hope to HEAR it soon again in Paris, July 29, where Chicago will perform!
