Maybe there's something wrong with me but Ide rather watch an Elivs Presley in concert bootleg from 1976 then any of his early stuff from 1956 to 1969. There is a new 3d Elvis dvd out with just 9 single performances from his black and white days but Ide pay 10 times as much to see a full length concert like this, even if the quality isn't perfect. His voice and Charisma got bigger as he got older until his death.
as it was in 1977, it took a long time 2 release a pirate recording onto the mass market! unlike 2day u can record it & have it on you tube within minutes! that was the difference back then, records & cassettes took much longer to get anywhere. but we still collected them!!!!!
I don't think recording equipment was allowed. People hid their equipment for that very reason. Fans described how they hid their equipment. In one show, Elvis actually gestured to someone in the front row to sort out their blanket as it had moved bringing into view their tape recorder (from the book "The Best of Elvis").
Elvis and his crew allowed personal cameras and recorders in the concerts. If you listen to the 1976 New Years Eve concert in Pittsburgh he tells someone to put their recorder right next to him.
Elvis is at the top of his game here. I don't care if he's a little thick - he sings great and still moves. Those thrusts of the fist during steamroller...powerful.
I have never seen this clip before. Very cool. Elvis could still enthrall an audience in 1976 even though he had slowed down a lot since his wild concerts from 1969-1974.
He sounded very good here, too bad my parents didn't take us all to his concert in Wichia that December 27. My Dad said the $10 tickets were too much!! He regrets it now of course. Thanks for posting this video! Still missing you Elvis..
Elvis could still get down and do some great blues rock right up to the end, eventhough he had turned into an emotional and physical wreck. Quality of this '76 video is still better than a cell phone clip of today. How did they sneak those super 8 cameras in there?!? Glad they did though! Thanks for posting!
i just cant get enough of the candid vids of Elvis in concert....love love love Elvis forever..thanks for sharing xx

This version of "Steamroller" is far more funkier than Hawaii `73 . Elvis is moving better too.
