I ride my bike around Portland alot, and am amazed at how many chickens I see walking around the neighborhoods!! It's funny, but a sad indicator for the American suburban future..
a point about cell phones and Internet worth knowing, however, is that it gives one the ability to track news that isn't easily available but is highly useful, and of course, for cell phones, to get jobs. I work for a cell carrier and only now are we eventually seeing business recede as the recession of course is getting worse. Our VOIP system is no longer for sale. Why bother? Broke people who are homeless don't need a home line for only $10, they will have no homes!
Hi from the trainwreck state of Michigan Max. No jobs, must rely on God. What a scary time. Without faith, its pretty hard to soldier on. People easily give up their rights during times like this - out of fear that if they don't comply they will lose everything. This interview was very important. Thanks for preparing us for the inevitable end of an empire.
When will the average American finally realize that the debt-based money system (in which money is "created" by banks ONLY when someone takes out a"loan") managed by fractional-reserve lenders, is at the heart of ALL of our societal problems, including war and skyrocketing medical costs?
It may already be too late to avert a colossal disaster, which is actually built into such a system of money creation. Revert to 100% silver-backed dollars and prohibit fractional reserve lending.
this is a very interesting interview regarding processed food....and i think he is on to something...I wonder when they will start putting lithium in the water?
orlov has a power point somewhere on the web...i read it 2 years ago..i advise everyone in America read it...he is a very smart man...and he will give you something to think about. i dont know why Max is only getting around to him now...but better late than never.
interesting to say how Soviet Union demise was caused by debt.. Who were they indebted to? their cold war adversaries? if they were in debt, it would mean they were importing their goods, not producing them themselves.. who were they importing from? their enemies in the cold war? something just doesnt add up.. or does it?
i don't know what this guy is takling about either.
The USSR tried hard to be self-sufficient in everything. The trade they did was mostly with third world countries selling them weapons and putting up steel mills and petrochemical plants and taking as payment any goods these countries could offer in barter trade e.g. rice, tea, bananas etc.
They sure as heck were not in debt to the west. If anything they exported oil to the west. Did not at one point US import grain from the USSR ?
USSR had a very screwed up agriculture that was highly inefficient yet managed to produce enough food to feed the local population. Unfortunetly USSR was feeding good portion of former soviet block + food aid to its allies. That caused a need to import grain. US was more than willing to sell the grain as it was viewed as a weapon in US arsenal(See Kissenger). To pay USSR had to get $ and did so by selling oil & gas. Collapse of Oil prices in 80's left USSR in the red. Rest is history.
@ezze902 the only way any stimulus spending in Canada could have any value (and it might fail anyhow) is to maintain manufacturing, only because if we lose it then it takes a whole new generation to re-build what's sold off as scrap/used property/tools and re-learn all the skills that will be lost to service-economy McSlaves. Those people are taught it might be hard to make a burger right, forget making a car or jet engine. But only true revenues and good products can support an economy!
@ytgv3fc7 It's actually not so bad, in the long haul. It's like evolution. I'm a USA'er who finally just quit playing the game (corporate manufacturing) 6 years ago. Started my own li'l biz. Now, I collaborate with others of like kind. We're beaten down, but we ain't dead... yet. And no, we're not building cars or jet engines... yet. Time will tell.
@ytgv3fc7 My chin is just outside the gutter, just now, but thank you for the encouragement! I know all too well that "production" is the source of wealth, and "consumption", by whatever means is destructive.
In a nutshell, this means that power is shifting, from west to east, no matter what the pundits say.
I've stopped telling and warning people about the collapse because I no longer have to. They can just look around. The time to take warning has long passed. There have been much better people than I who took up the task, like Max, and they are yielding the same results. You're screwed but doesn't mean you can't enjoy it.
Just like in Dr. Strangelove, ride the nuke like a cowboy as it falls from the sky.
LOL! Back in 2008 I was talking about the collapse and was warning them (my friends and coworkers) to get out of the stock market. They laughed and compared me to chicken little. A couple of my coworkers even flapped their arms and imitated chicken little (although my friends were more polite about it). Anyway Shortly after Meryl Lynch went bankrupt and had to be bought out, they stopped making fun of me.
@vention4wh when I tell people if they disagree or mock me I point them to the Peter Schiff video where they all laughed and mocked him in 2002 and then later all ate giant servings of humble pie as he was proven right. Those same fools want to laugh at him about the currency crisis but they looked really stupid the first time around, and are fearful of looking twice as stupid, 100% as predictably as before.
Then when the news stated talking about the recession and were all negative about the economy, I loudly and sarcastically imitated chicken little, exactly like my coworkers had done earlier that year. LOL. They at least had the grace to look uncomfortable and admit the dig. They say "He who laughs last, laughs best" Oh I laughed! How I laughed!! And it was good!!!
Shadowsstat's Walter Williams has stated were actually in a depression but it is being masked by food stamps and unemployment. I live in Southern NJ and there are a ton of empty commercial properties (e.g. office space, buildings, strip malls). All this empty space popping up is creepy. I don't believe the politicians or policymakers. Both parties are inept and corrupt.

Read ingredients, and eliminate the food with incomprehensibly named ingredients. Avoid foods with preservatives, the reason for the preservatives is; store shelf life. All for sales, not health. Prepared food today is low grade corporate profit poison. Look at European food laws. Food is safer, because people care more... for themselves.
