  • that looks fantastic - you could make miniature caramel "popcorn" bites - Thank you!

  • It taste like nuts and is good in Jogurt for example.

  • how does it taste?

  • @danthadon87

It doesn't tast THAT much, but it's kinda... it's hard to describe. I don't really know how to describe it actually...

  • taste*

  • @danthadon87 I made them for the first time today...they didn't pop so quickly and fully like in this video! Maybe my heat wasn't right or the pan. But the ones that didn't pop got kinda toasty, giving it so much flavor. It was soo yummy! I was considering adding alil seasoning but didn't have to at all. couldn't put it down it was gone before I could think to add else:p

  • Do you need to rinse the seeds before you pop them?

  • @tjayman510

Well...I don't think so. And I wouldn't really try it unless I were gonna pop em the next day or so. I don't think it's such a good idea to try to pop some that might be wet and some that are a bit more dry at the same time.

But that's just me, if you feel like you need to because of whatever reason, I'd say do it in time for them to dry.

It's like... do you rinse dried corn before you pop em? At least I don't.

  • no you didnt !! haha that was wild !! thanks!! can't wait to find some myself.

  • aww but it didnt look like popcorn really, and u didnt like zoom in! =[ ah well hope they tasted good lol

  • They WILL fly out of it. Doesn't matter how deep it is... And if you cover it, they'll get burned... So as you might see, I turned some of the..."stoves lids"(I got no idea what the words for that is...) upside down so they would pop "kinda" into 'em...

So the problem is: You have to be fast. heck, the sometimes get burned as I stand and pour them into something.

  • @Zabuz Why not use a mesh cover than? You can still see what you're cooking and tell when it's done.

  • can you tell me where you baught these ameranth seeds.

  • I bought them from...well, a normal grocery store. My mother bought them first for fun...somewhere. When I bought them they were at the "Healthy" section (where you can find beans, seeds... practically healthy, dried things xD)

  • Great, thanks! John.

  • Now did you eat it as is or did you grind it and use like corn in pinole` ?

  • Just popped 'em, then ate 'em with a spoon, that's all. :>

  • im growing this plant and im truly amazed at the things that it can be used for thanks for sharing
