Personally, growing up with Street Fighter 2. KOF has always been a favorite fighting game of mine. Personally I did not enjoy 12, as 98 and 94 are my current favorites of the series. However, playing Blazblue, I can still honestly say I prefer KOF.

KOF XII is good. It's fairly reasonable why most people pick BlazBlue instead becase KOF XII still lacks features. But KOF XII is just a beta of upcoming KOFs so its useless to compare the two...
I dont really play fighting games, besides super smash bros, because it was unique and fun with a group of friends, but after seeing this video, I'm considering buying a classic style fighting game.
i have to say kof's sprites are very pretty to look at. But i hafta say i like blazblue better overall because of the little bells and whistles it had, like a good story mode. that way after 10000 online matches i can go do something else without changing games

well in my opinion, Kof Xii is the same game as the other kofs, It doesn't bring anything new. Compare to sf4 and blazblue: snk was sure that brngin the same shit from Kof 94 through Kof XI was a nice idea
KOF XII is a beta for the next KOFs. The game is very good, nice animations, 22 characters, nice stages (but only 6 :S) and good new systems (guard attack, sousai)
BlazBlue is a very good game, only 12 characters (but new, and they have awesome moves and combos), awesome story mode, stages and cool OST
SF IV is cool too. This 3 games are the best in fighting game for me

bueno, en realidad yo lo veo acorde a la nueva generacion, tiene nuevos graficos verdad? eso es principalmente lo que mas se le reprochaba a la saga. El hecho de que los personajes no esten en alta resolucion es otra cosa, pero yo los veo muy bien animados. Lo que si le reprocho al KOF XII es que practicamente no vale mucho jugarlo en modo arcade. Es decir, consigues el trofeo de terminarlo en 3:30 y ya no te sirve mas eso, es un juego solo para vs y online (que no anda muy bien :S)
se ve interesante ese blazblue continum shift, aunque haran lo mismo que con GG, sacaran como 4 versiones mas, agregandole 2 personajes nuevos a cada una y sera muy parecido. Solo espero que continue la historia, quisiera saber que le paso a Ragna, me gustaria ver el despertar de la bestia negra :O

King of Fighters 12 looks a bit better to me. True, it doesn't have the crowd-pleasing "OOH, SHINEY!" appeal of BlazBlue, but have some patience, look closer, and it becomes apparent that the animation is miles ahead of BB.
but I've played BlazBlue and the ooooh shiney appeal is nice but that's not why i like it. first off i dont know what ur looking at but the animations do not lag behind KoF AT ALL. though the game only has 12 characters they are all well balanced. the character models are awesome. the story is great and each character (due to the drive) is truly unique.
and on top of that , distortion drive, astral heats, rapid cancels, and barrier bursts make the battle mechanics amazing.
I have both games. Both are different and fun in their own way. Yes, KOF12 looks very pixelated, but I think that was intentional. Has a good arcade feel to it, aesthetically. You can filter but I wouldn't recommend it. Ultimately though, BB has more to offer, in terms of game modes and replayability. Also, BB has way better presentation. Online play for KOF leaves much to be desired.
The comparison wasn't too fair seeing as the KOF material filmed at home wasn't up to par with anything like the bb footage, which was from a promotional trailer mind you.
Still it doesn't take a genius to look at 2 videos and compare what happens in both. BB tops KOF in appeal anyways, I mean let's face it. Sure KOF's more down to earth but it's slow paced and simply not as pretty as BB. Gameplay-wise KOF offers nowhere as much variety a BB in both the fighting system and character structures.
For sum reason i think blazblue is going to be challenging but it will keep me wanting to play it. to where i think KoF XII will be like SFIV. it's fun for while but then its gets boring. my pick is blazblue is better

ummm to tell the truth he actually didnt show any of the amazing stuff for BlazBlue most of that was just basic. he only showed a couple disstortion drives and one astral heat. and he did show character specials on KoF but they look like crap compared to BlazBlue
BlazBlue is so much better than KOF XII. I have both games and was very impressed with BlazeBlue but disappointed with KOF. For starters, there are no tag attacks, quickshifts, or dreamcancels in KOF XII. There is really no point in having 3v3 since your partner can't even do anything. Also, a lot of the character's movesets were changed for the worst in my opinion. Most characters only have one super special. And my final complaint is the music and stages. It sucks, at least compared to BlazBlu

I have never heard of Blazblue until today. To me it looks like Guilty Gear with different characters. KoF XII looks like they finally reanimated all the drawings. Also they took a step in the CvS direction with CGI special effects. Since I own all the KoF games, I might be a bit bias but I like KoF XII better. Surprise, surprise.

They're both so different in style, it's hard to compare. As a 2D fighting game fan, I'm glad they're different tho. Definitely gonna pick this up as well. Only time will tell which game I play the most.
KOF12 is stuck in the 90s. I used to be a big SNK fan in those days, but its too outdated and relies to heavily on nostalgia. BlazBlue is a breath of fresh air. Brilliantly vibrant graphics and fast-paced action. Great controls round out the package for a great game.

Therefore, I cannot tell, but by the looks, I think BlazBlue is with the victory. KOF XII just looks like around sorta slow-paced hitting and some-what combos, blah blah blah.
Only thing that KOF XII is probably better than BlazBlue is the special moves, and the graphics (by a bit) :
BB has a hyper-combo playstyle with a HUGE focus on hit chaining (i.e. marvel vs capcom series), and KOF12 is more about spacing and risk vs reward tactics (Samurai Shodown/old KOF series).
I'm more into the spacing/risk-reward game than the offensive rushdown/chain-juggle memorization game, so my vote goes to KOF 12, but BB looks like one hell of a combo game if you're into that.
Hrm, not a single alpha counter in the KoF vid =/. If we are judging based on LOOKS alone, having gotten up close and personal with KoFXII recently, i would have to lean towards Blazblue actually. Whilst they are two completely different art styles (and MAD props to the sprite team on KoF) the KOF sprites do not hold up in HD like they are supposed to. They are rather large on screen and end up being pixelated like crazy. I personally also like alot of the flash BB provides
From the looks of this video (no one else) KOF looks like an old PSX game graph wise. BB has the sweet anime look that I really care for, and it's more intense (It would seem in this vid) than KOF
Personally I have high hopes for BB, and KOF is something I won't even throw another glance at

Well I can agree with that, it could be done on the PS2 (Or Gasp! The Dreamcast!) since the sprites in XII are not true HD, but the same resolution has GGX's sprites.

The KOFXII segment doesn't do the game justice. You only show one stage and its obvious those people playing are inexperienced and not as great as the matches seen on arcade infinity and even that European group. KOFXII looks better, plays better, and while BB has a story, KOFXII has more fighters, which enhance the gameplay further. And fighting games are really about the gameplay, not story.
really hard for me to say. like both series of course. i think blazblue is better overall combining story gameplay network etc. but if it's just gameplay and visual looks i dunno. theres a lot of detail in each character in kof. also it's kind of hard to compare 2 games when one is out and the other has yet to have home version. looks is pretty much all u can judge......buy both.

I have no idea why people insist on comparing vector graphics, which scale very well, to pixels, which don't.

BlazBlue is so much better than KOF XII. I have both games and was very impressed with BlazeBlue but disappointed with KOF. For starters, there are no tag attacks, quickshifts, or dreamcancels in KOF XII. There is really no point in having 3v3 since your partner can't even do anything. Also, a lot of the character's movesets were changed for the worst in my opinion. Most characters only have one super special. And my final complaint is the music and stages. It sucks, at least compared to BlazBlu

lol blazblu definetly looks better, I have KOF xii And trust me its doesn't look as good as it does on the cpu. Its hard to explain the character outlines look choopy or something....

I have never heard of Blazblue until today. To me it looks like Guilty Gear with different characters. KoF XII looks like they finally reanimated all the drawings. Also they took a step in the CvS direction with CGI special effects. Since I own all the KoF games, I might be a bit bias but I like KoF XII better. Surprise, surprise.

BlazBlue was made by the same creators as Guilty Gear, but the fighting system is much different.

I must say, King of fighters XII looks better, no doubts, but blazblue looks awesome too! I bought blazblue yestarday, and from what i've seen, It's awesome.

They're both so different in style, it's hard to compare. As a 2D fighting game fan, I'm glad they're different tho. Definitely gonna pick this up as well. Only time will tell which game I play the most.

KOF12 is stuck in the 90s. I used to be a big SNK fan in those days, but its too outdated and relies to heavily on nostalgia. BlazBlue is a breath of fresh air. Brilliantly vibrant graphics and fast-paced action. Great controls round out the package for a great game.

i have had blazblue since release and have not put it down blazblue has a faster pace than king of fighters and the animation looks better than king of fighters
bu i am still gonna pick up king of fighters havent played with Kim, Kyo, and Iori in a long time

kof xii bitches!! this game's system looks gay..plus it looks the same as guilty gear only with 3d backgrounds..and none of the characters interest me whatsoever...rather stick with guilty gear than this.

I personally own BlazBlue, since it's released.
Therefore, I cannot tell, but by the looks, I think BlazBlue is with the victory. KOF XII just looks like around sorta slow-paced hitting and some-what combos, blah blah blah.
Only thing that KOF XII is probably better than BlazBlue is the special moves, and the graphics (by a bit) :

BB has a hyper-combo playstyle with a HUGE focus on hit chaining (i.e. marvel vs capcom series), and KOF12 is more about spacing and risk vs reward tactics (Samurai Shodown/old KOF series).
I'm more into the spacing/risk-reward game than the offensive rushdown/chain-juggle memorization game, so my vote goes to KOF 12, but BB looks like one hell of a combo game if you're into that.

Hrm, not a single alpha counter in the KoF vid =/. If we are judging based on LOOKS alone, having gotten up close and personal with KoFXII recently, i would have to lean towards Blazblue actually. Whilst they are two completely different art styles (and MAD props to the sprite team on KoF) the KOF sprites do not hold up in HD like they are supposed to. They are rather large on screen and end up being pixelated like crazy. I personally also like alot of the flash BB provides

From the looks of this video (no one else) KOF looks like an old PSX game graph wise. BB has the sweet anime look that I really care for, and it's more intense (It would seem in this vid) than KOF
Personally I have high hopes for BB, and KOF is something I won't even throw another glance at

Well I can agree with that, it could be done on the PS2 (Or Gasp! The Dreamcast!) since the sprites in XII are not true HD, but the same resolution has GGX's sprites.

well seeing as how i have never EVER really heard of blazblue until just a few weeks ago i think sreet fighter and king of fighters are better. because they have a series of games, i have never heard of blazblue though. sf and kof are better

The KOFXII segment doesn't do the game justice. You only show one stage and its obvious those people playing are inexperienced and not as great as the matches seen on arcade infinity and even that European group. KOFXII looks better, plays better, and while BB has a story, KOFXII has more fighters, which enhance the gameplay further. And fighting games are really about the gameplay, not story.

really hard for me to say. like both series of course. i think blazblue is better overall combining story gameplay network etc. but if it's just gameplay and visual looks i dunno. theres a lot of detail in each character in kof. also it's kind of hard to compare 2 games when one is out and the other has yet to have home version. looks is pretty much all u can judge......buy both.

I prefer kof XII, all the things going on in BB just annoy me.
Also that's not a very good KOF XII gameplay video, you should look at of the Arcade infinty vids
