  • what was the notch a 1/4 in ? just wondering could youve had the rotor turn down a bit

  • @MrBigtower No you cant turn it down, if you did it would get into those cooling holes

  • Put a foot brake on it

  • at about 9:20ish, is the mount crooked?

  • @XMXDeWaltXMX yup, I fixed it in a later video

  • dude! totally put the underglo on there!

  • What is the voltage on the LEDS?

  • @f00bert24 Im guessing 12v? do you know the wattage?

  • @f00bert24 I don't, but they can be run anywhere from 9-12v

  • @Fearlessfront by any chance do you have any of those blue LEDs your willing to sell? T-man's out of the blue :(

  • @f00bert24 I only have one, and i may use it. sry bub

  • hey i just started watching the series tonite i rated up on all of them that i remembered to i subed and i wanted to throw an idea. maybe you already thought of it and have a solution but i think makeing a rear rotor and sproket skit plate would be a good idea. again man great vids love watching them so far keep it up!!

  • @monsterenergy66 thanks man! I hope you've enjoyed the seires, I'm almost ready to ride it, just finishing up a few last things before.

As for a skid plate, this thing is gonna be street and lawn only. so it shouldn't need one. but I'll know for sure after the test drive

  • man i wish i could afford all this awesome stuff

  • perfect u got the right brakes thats what i got on my kart

  • @Quinnster911 really? I was wondering! Do you think they'll stop this thing at 50+ mph?

  • For drilling alot of holes , i use step drill bits - tons easier then regular bits, plus last a long time ( 1st set i had lasted like 3 years) and no breakage of bits.

I would notch the frame a bit more- use some U channel to reinforce the frame- the rotor might warp a bit over time.

I bot a couple different mechanical brake setups - Im looking into using automotive hydraulic components for an upgrade if needed.

  • @dangeroustoys56 I considered hydraulic, but I like the reliability of the mechanical brakes. I figure if they don't work quite well enough, I'll upgrade.

I want a set of step drill bits, I might get some soon.

  • cant wait to see yer new vid number 12 and do u no when u will have it up on here

  • @joe6991tav2 Hopefully by monday it will be up... if all goes well

  • Just wanted to say great vids man...I've started looking around my area for some old mowers so i can start my own project in the summer. Are there any models or types of tractors i should avoid?

  • @icandoit20 Thanks! It's tough to go wrong with any old mower... I'd avoid anything with an "onan" motor.. parts are hard to find and expensive.

  • thanks guy, that was great! luv these new updates. i want to see it work.

  • i would have used a hydraulic brake but if you got a good deal on mechanicals, then i would have done it too. I would mount some light under the hood looking down. damn that rotor is going to be damn close to the frame. i would make a nice exhaust with some bends. add good sound and backpressure

  • @yamaharules163 I figure the mechanical was more reliable, and consistent. I'd hate to spring a leak at 30+ mph

    I can always upgrade later!

  • this is awesome!

  • kool video !!!!

  • Where can I find that brake drum and rotor, that idea is outstanding

  • @electus7 Thanks man, but there is no drum, it's just a disk. The disk and disk hub came from bmikarts dot com. The disk was less then $5, the hub was $15 before shipping. I believe that same site also sell these brake calipers as well, if not, just search around a little bit. there pretty common.

  • Great video. I can't wait to see it finished!!

  • Looks like its comming along pretty good! Cant wait to see more!

  • Use the led in the front. Try to make a rectangular box with circular edges, the put a clear piece of glass in front if it, or plexiglas for strength.

  • Sweet build... just a suggestion I would use a Longer brake cable that way your sure not to bined up or rip off in a hard corner. keep up the good work man

  • @chugAbug69 I might have too, I wont know for sure until I get the brake handle and turn it lock to lock.

  • i know what you could do with the lights do like a steal mesh cage on the fron and put them in there that way they are protected and look cool

  • i probably wouldn't put the lights under it, a rock could come up and smash them maybe you could put them them on the front of it for headlights or something like that

  • @4wheelerfun99 yeah, and I got to make them water proof also.

  • haha i realy like your racing mower rebuid project! when is version 12 coming???

  • @Thijs18588 Thanks man, I donno when I'll get the next one up, I gotta order some parts, It might be another week.

  • well cool man keep up with the good work

  • subscribed ! LOVING THE VIDEOS ,i too do some pretty cool stuff, woodworking ,drift trikes, motorised bikes etc feel free to check em out

  • awsome video , youv inspired me to get back into my shop and get back in to metal fabrication

    _ S&Scustoms

  • @sscustoms100 Cool! thanks man, build something you want to build, not what everyone else wants! more fun that way!

  • Hey, I think that clone engine has an alternator on it. My Subaru gokart engine has one, and it's used for the headlights. Check it out, you could probably charge that trailer brake battery while you drive. Just make sure that wire has an in-line diode.

  • @NicksGarageDoor I'll take a closer look, that would be nice if it did, and I could probably put one in if it doesn't

  • put some stacks on it ahahahah,

  • Cant wait til its finished!! And yes that is a really big brake disk

  • or a old dewalt battery pack. just trying to find a cheap and small batt for ya.didnt realize it was that much.

  • @shammash55 thats not a bad idea... I have an old charger, it would be neat to just "clip" it into the racer

  • @fearlessfront

i agree with big spoon i would totally watch that

  • nice sharp drill bits

  • @jasonmushersee Irwin, I got a drill index on sale. one of the best things I've ever purchased

  • Loving these vids!

  • you should put mesh in the triangular brake brase

  • I think powerblock TV on Spike TV found a new series and host, Nice job Fearlessfront very informative and wanting more.

  • @TheBigspoon1 thanks man! That's sort of what I was going for

  • a a123 battery pack. its 4 LIon batterys that makes 12v and whegiht about as much as a couple of D batts. aand about the same size.

    /watch?v=UTDctiyUa9E

  • @shammash55 yeah I just watched that video, in the description it says he spent $150 - $200.... I'll just buy a sealed trailer-brake battery for around $30

  • BIKE BRAKE!!!!!!!

  • you dont need no fancy garage or anything, along you have skills like this guy. damn.

  • @fearlessfront

man ive watched all your videos and they are all amazing keep it up ive been looking forward to this build being done since it started lol

  • @MowMachineBuilds thanks man! I appreciate that! I can't wait either

  • y dont u just do a foot brake then you dont have to worry about the cable being to short?

  • @Mraparma I want it to be hand operated. A new cable would only be another $10

  • dude the kart is awesome... i really dont care for the return spring... looks like the brakes will lock up really easy instead of easing in and out... not trying to pick apart your awesome build or anything i might be completely wrong... Keep up the great work...

  • @wheelhorse99I honestly have no idea how it's going to work out. as long as I dont "stab" the brakes I don't think they'll lock up.

We'll all find out together once it's rideable!

  • i like tmans idea for the red glow under the seat!

  • oohhh that make more sense srry

  • @piffsterr2 It'll be worth the wait... cough... 4x4 cough...

  • @Fearlessfront

Yeah, I know you weren't planning on racing, but if you're going to notch that frame out more, I figure it will help with reinforcement. That, and if you decide to, you can put your blue lights in as headlights, and mount your red ones to the bumper for brakelights.

  • @NicksGarageDoor oh ok, I see what your sayin. I'll def put the led's in there somewhere!

  • i c ur rockin the movember stash

  • @SuperMustang75 LMAO!

  • Every week i anticipate the next vid , its like a tv series that i dvr lol good job man. P. S. Might wanna box around the roater, i know ur not satisfied with a notch lol keep up the good work dude

  • @steveo692005 haha! Sweet! thats what I was hoping for!

    Thanks!

  • you should use a set of the LED's you were given as brake lights

  • make you a A123 batterypack. 12v with no wheight or space usage.your awsome on your project

  • @shammash55 Huh? a whos-ama-whats-ah?

  • dang dude how much did that setup cost ya? also with the gx200 if you change the intake and exhuste make sure to rejet it you can get jets from affordablegokarts google it. also if you keep it stock get a #90 jet it will improve the power a lil bit.

  • @FastClones I may shoot you a message or two in the next week, before I order a bunch of stuff I cant use.

  • @Fearlessfront alright

  • this is the best channle ever

  • awesome video!!!! do under glo!!

  • i love your channel and how u build things u donnt cut any corners

  • @dottiestoltzfus Thanks! Im glad you noticed that!

  • that things really sweet like what you turened it into 10stars i would run 420chain with 54 9 gearing you will have crazy toque i wouldnt be saprized if the front tires came off the ground with a hole shot i think it would and you would pbl have about 25 30 mph with govner without pbl 35 40 mph cant wait to see it run

  • @joe6991tav2 haha, That would be sick! Im still trying to figure out the gearing, I may have two sets of sprockets, one for donuts, the other for going 50+ mph

  • @Fearlessfront ya thts what i do have diffrent gearing and chains so i can just bolt it on and if you want do go tht fast you would need something around a 30tooth in 420# chain with govner without pbl like a 40tooth 420# chain

  • Ya make the notch bigger

  • Very Awesome!! Imma stayin touch with ya dude!!!

  • good so far but i will say be VERY careful with that mechanical brakes dont let them sit out side and get wet they will rip apart over time

  • @V8Mike93 which part? the pad itself?

This will be stored indoors for the most part. (I'll probably sleep with it if the wife lets me)

  • looks good

  • Dude, do yourself a favor and grind out that notch deeper and wider. It looks like a lot can go wrong with such small a notch. If something shifts, you've got a shredded rotor and possibly a jammed/ruined caliper. What I'd do is make a rear bumper out of box steel about 4" from the frame. 2 straight bars, 2 angled supports

  • @NicksGarageDoor I might, I just didn't want to compromise the structure of the frame.

And it probably wont need bumpers, It's not actually going to "race"

  • You should still at the return spring that tman gave u or else there will be too much play when u drive it

  • @motorbuilds the spring thats on it is pretty strong, people have to ba able to pull this with there hand so I don't want it to be too stiff. But you might be right, I won't know for sure until I get the handle and run it a bit.

  • shweet man that will wok pritty awesome!

  • now grind out that noch deeper and wider trust my you wont regret it

  • ★★★★★ WOW ! Now thats what I call a shout out. Thanks man. I agree with alot of people here, Its going together realy well. Outstanding job. How about the two blue in front as headlights, and the red wide angle ( flood ) mounted under the seat angle supports ( / \ ) so the light criss-crosses and casts red onto the axle, brake, and sprokets. just an idea ☻☻

  • @Tmansgokarts Thanks again Tman! Im thinkin one red one under the hood, casting down on the motor, and the other under the seat casting down on the sprocket and brakes. or two in the back like you said, that sounds like it would be pretty neat too.

    I have 1 green 1 blue and 2 red w

  • Looks like it's going together pretty good. I have one question, How many 2lb spool of welding wire have you went throw so far?

  • @newsmonkyjosh lol, I donno! quite a few!

  • wish you were my neighbor

  • Awesome job.

  • I've been watching these from the beginning these vids are awesome

  • @MowMachineBuilds Thanks man! People like you make this happen!

  • awesome stuff man! i look foward to these vids every week. i have a really efficient throttle assembly that i made for me clone that i can make a video on if you want, just ask.

  • @pivotboy63 Thanks man! I think Im going to get one of those top plates with the throttle built in, they're cheap, and the fit into tight spaces

  • sweeetnesss

  • foot brake or hand brake?

  • @TheTractorkid10 hand brake

  • lookin good bro, how heavy is it getting with all the add on's? hope the little clone will push the hell outta it! keep up the kick ass work.

  • @UncleJesseXXX Thanks! and I donno, I'll have to weigh the frame once its done, then weigh it again fully assembled.

  • I really like those beefy brakes. I think if you worked the leds into something functional like headlights or sidelights it wouldn't be cheesy like under lighting

  • Alittle bit every night will get the job done. I need to get a wood stove in my old shed so I can finish mine.

  • @ShawnCFarm I would love to hve a wood stove in my garage, I just have a salamander.

  • i have the same mechanical brakes and rotor, does it matter if they rub a TINY bit, you can hear it but they dont make any difference in moving.

  • @pretzel1253 no, it won't affect it at all

  • Ive been waiting

  • i think that you should use the leds for headlights 1 for under glow for the sprockes use bicycle sprockets the chain depends on how long it is bicycle chain or so other costume made one!!!! COMMON YOU SAID WAIT TILL next vid to see if you were gonna make a monster mower next vid tell the world yes or no!!!!!!

  • @piffsterr2 I said my next project would be an off roader, not the next vid.

  • Hey fearless I found a 14 hp horizontal shaft for 350 I don't no of u would want it or not just let me no

  • @thebestcheeker12 Thanks, but all the extra $ I have at the moment goes into the kart, I dont have a need for somethig like that at the moment

  • Good video man, keep up the good work. Also I like how you actually wear safety glasses.

  • @GrandCaravanSE Yeah, I don't want to go blind...

  • why is ep. 10 private?

  • @akcender I didn't know it was, thanks!

  • What if you made the lever down by the seat?

  • Still love the vids.... Where do u get a lot of your parts like the axle and bearings?

  • @KO1STUD bmikartsdotcom they are good people to deal with

  • Al..most..THERE!! Lol. I look forward to your videos every weekend so keep em good lol

  • @cj15941 Thanks man, I put a lot of time into editing, to keep em good... hahaha

  • ya finaly you did it in a week

  • your videos rock buddy .... keep up the good work .

i was actually on the phone with t-man last week ..... what a great guy .... he will do really well on youtube ... great videos too :-)
