Hi Peter - sorry I took a while to reply! Thanks for saying nice things. Yeah, I think that "Chuzi Mama"'s author, George Sibanda, is a bit of a neglected genius. He died of alcoholism in the 50s, a few years after recording it, and was almost instantly forgotten. Apparently there aren't even any photos of him! Criminal shame. I'm not familiar with Jon Betmead, but I'll keep an ear out - as clearly he had excellent taste! Cheers.
I love this song. I've only ever heard Jon Betmead play it.
