wow! your geckos are healthy! i have a leopard that has a nice fat tail, and another one that the til isnt as fat as i want, but i guess it is what some people seem to think is healthy (im still working on it, im feeding butter worms a little more often then i used to) and then i have a juvie who's tail is thin :/ but he eats like a pig! and again, im feeding more butter worms then i used to, do you know of any tips how to get my juvie's tail to fatten up?

They seemed to get a bit skittish there, perhaps stop being so rough with them? They probably felt really exposed outside for that long too. They do look nice and healthy, but the way you force them together looks like the behaviour of a 6 year old, treating them like toys.

I was wondering.... Since I have a 'fear' of crickets, and I'm looking to get a pet Leopard Gecko, would it be possible to simply feed it waxworms? Or will it surely need crickets?

Waxworms are junk food to leos so you can't feed them waxworms alone. One or two a week maybe, but otherwise no. As for the crickets, I feed mine mealworms. They're a bit easier to deal with since you get them in a little container where you can use tongs to get them out and put them in a dish. They don't jump or chirp, although they turn into beetles. Hope this helps

They should, yes. They need to be kept refrigerated so you should find like in a little fridge there or possibly have to ask an employee to get some for you. Be sure you are NOT getting superworms or "super mealworms". These are a different bug with sharp teeth. I had some that chewed right out of their container. Not good for a little leo. And you can open the containers in store to check the size of the mealies if you're not sure what "large" and "medium" look like.

They're pretty easy to care for, put him in a ten gallon tank with cage carpet and keep the temperature at about 75-85, make sure it has clean purified water every day, and feed it crickets.

bearded dragons mate. leos are great. u can normally tame them with regular handeling of 10mins a day for about 2 weeks. but overall id go for a beared dragon.

They're nocturnal (so UVB lights are a waste of money), but don't hibernate. Some are known to eat less during the winter though when it's cold.

Stay away from lamps because their eyes are sensitive to light.

You need a heated pad underneath the tank because the belly heat helps them digest, but make sure they also have a cooler spot in the tank. If the pad doesn't keep the proper temp on the warm side (about 85F-92F) then you can use an infra-red heat lamp, but MAKE SURE IT'S INFRA RED.

A leopard gecko with a thin tail is sick or starving and severely underweight. You want one with the fattest tail possible. If you can't stand the fat tail, I suggest you look into a different reptile.

Usually petstore geckos are around $35 USD. The rule of thumb for terrarium sizes is 10 gallons per gecko. So a 10 gallon tank is recommended for a single gecko.
