  • civic wannabe!

  • the new kia forte has 6 speed automatic!

  • This narrator nearly ruins the review for me. Go back to the price is right

  • Man this car is HOT!!!! I'm Kia/Hyundai loyal!!! :D

  • FUNNY my 2011 sx does 0-60 in about 7.1 .. and has, 183 hp and 169 lb-ft of torque.. when i put it on the dyno ...??

  • Twist beam....ew

  • I have the 2.0L I get 39mpg on the highway.

  • I've loved Kia ever since I found out my beloved Ford Aspire was actually a Kia

  • the 2009-present Kia Forte is assembled in

    China: Jiangsu

    Kazakhstan: Ust-Kamenogorsk

    South Korea: Hwaseong, Gyeonggi

  • please kia, 2.4l dohc, gdi, 200hp or 2.0l, 270hp turbo!!!!!!!!!

  • nice car but the suspension in the resr is to stiff

  • @hondacivicsi09 $400=New springs and shocks.

$1000 for an entire racing coilover kit.

And thats not that much...considering that you have to spend $17k for the car. $1k in suspension components wont kill ya...and if you get a good dealership...they will probably help ya install them

  • The only good thing about this car is the exterior design. Everything else sucks...especially the steering wheel and gigantic KIA logos which nobody in their right mind would want to flaunt.

  • I think they did a great job with this car. Not many other compact coupes give you an ipod adaptor as standard plus they give you one of the best warranties out there.

  • @yynotnnh Give them sometime, and you will see. you have to give them a credit for nice comeback

  • i prefer civic ex or si coupe 2006-2011 and the 2012 is coming soon wll smash this sure

  • @kompleti The 2012 looks exactly the same as the 2011, and it only gained 3 hp. It gained some torque, finally, because the 2011's and below had almost no torque. It still doesn't compete. So no, the 2012 isn't much better at all. Of course the Si will beat it, but not by too much.

  • talk about monotone

  • Tc it's better !!!!!

  • Ahhhh! It said it went 1 to 60 in 8.6 seconds with clutch! Automatic is whayyy faster!

  • @Danny15LL Yeah the auto is just over 7 I believe

  • @Danny15LL The 2011 has a better clutch system. Should be faster.

  • I have it in titanium, sweet car.

  • @unresolved77 it's supposed to be a Eco friendly car and a sports car. R-tard

  • The reason it got bad mileage on the track is because you jammed down the petal.

  • I want this car so bad!!!!!

  • @ladyyuna2000 i agree

  • I just drove one today. I'd take it over the played out Civic and/or T.C. any day.

  • lol, this made me laugh "173hp and 168 ft lbs tq, that out guns the Scion tC" yet the tC is faster in 0-60 and the 1/4 mile by a whole second, with the fastest time being 15.1 sec in a bone stock tC. and the tC has 5spd M/T and 4spd A/T. thats sad that the tC, which is heavier and has less power still beats the Koup. especially when their 6spd M/T did 16.6 secs in a 1/4! thats slower than a 4spd tC! and the 0-60 is slower than a 4spd tC as well! this wont beat a Civic Si.

  • @unresolved777 btw, hate all you want on my comment, i dont care, facts are facts, and the facts say this is a poor attempt to compete with the Civic Si and tC, and with the new 2011 tC carrying 180hp and 173ft lbs tq, with Dual VVT-i vs the 05-10's VVT-i, this Koup will not compare with the tC. its a good start for Kia, a damn good start! but with those numbers for that power and lightness, its a poor car for competition.

  • @unresolved777

Ultimately you're buying a grocery-getter..none of the cars you named are purchased for their sporting credentials now are they?

  • @h0axbu5t0r are you serious? None of which know for their "sporty credentials?" I guess the fact that the tC, which has seen up to 450whp on a stock motor and 530whp with only pistons and rods as the only internals, has no known sportiness? And the Si which is 100hp/L and has held over 350whp on a high compression motor is not sporty enough? Doesn't take much to put those cars in Evo or Sti territory.

  • @unresolved777 Did I say no known sportiness? No, they weren't produced to be sports cars; end of story. Horsepower numbers alone do not make grandma's mobility scooter a sports car. Is a Geo Metro sporty if it has 7 million horsepower? Sports cars aren't purely about numbers. And if they were just about numbers, how good are those cars you named at going around corners?

  • @h0axbu5t0r Like I said, it doesn't take much to put either of the 2 cars in a different category. The Si pushes g's that it shouldn't on the corners, but it still pulls better than what people think. Considering the tC's weight distribution, and overall weight it should be doing worse but pushes through. And here we go with the Geo Metro example, old example. Go ask some dude that is in love with his Si, he I'll tell you it has all the sporty credentials it needs same with a tC owner.

  • @h0axbu5t0r Of course they aren't sports cars, they are FWD. But to say people don't buy them for their "sporty credentials" would be false. People do buy said cars for their "sportyness". Otherwise they would just go out and buy any old car to get them from point A to point B. No one is claiming them to be full on sports cars though, so don't get the point in this argument.

For the record....Kia Forte is SLOOOWWW...and would not even touch a tC or Si if it's getting these kind of #'s.

  • The only $1,000 options on the SX are the leather seat package (comes with heated seats), and an automatic transmission. $20,000 for the SX with every option available.

  • with the sx manual it goes from 0 to 60 in much less than 8 seconds. I've already tried it in a test drive, not sure who the wuss was doing this test

  • There must be something wrong. Motorweek tested the Kia Spectra awhile back and turned out an almost equal 0-60 time and a much faster quarter mile (16.1 vs. 16.6). One would think that, even though the Forte is slightly heavier, the 35 extra horses would do something besides use more gas.

  • i like the wheel

  • at 0:08 has that track been used for a long time??

  • Little red bottle-rocket? I like it.

  • kia makes u pay an extra $1,000 for a/c .......fkn rip off

  • @coandcaiv for the base model's ..comes standard with anything else ..idiot

  • @coandcaiv trim levels go from BASE LX EX SX

  • @TommyV246 no need for name calling either there champ

  • @coandcaiv PLUS it goes by your state..I havent seen or heard of a car sold in Florida without A/C since 1986 .. if you live in minnesota I under stand why it would be a option..

  • call me and idiot all you want homo...even if i am an idiot....charging 1,000 for a/c is still a rip off...kia is supposed to be about value...core value....a/c is one of the most basic things you would need in a car besides heat....hell..they might as well charge 1,000 for heat while they are at it! idiot

  • @coandcaiv Okay, the 1k dollar that your talking about isnt just for A/C its a package that comes with A/C power and sometimes a automatic tranny.. gotta do your research before you complain about somthing that honestly doesnt matter

  • @TommyV246 i checked the actual kia website....and yes the a/c package also includes some other options ...but ....it doesnt justify the 1000 extra tag in my opinion .....

  • I own this car and it's effing amazing. Go test drive one.

  • civic si's have 200hp at the crank...but thats nothing to be proud oflol, kia actually did a good job on this car

  • @donnie249 the forte has torsion beam rear suspension, when the civic has independent suspension all around = better handling

  • Yeah i guess the si would be the better of the two, i just dont understand why thats such a hott car when there are a few others with more to offer?

  • yeah, the si is established, but if you get a kia, even if it seems better than a honda, youre still driving a kia.

  • @DeltaOpS07 also the suzuki SX4 sport/sportback/crossover have independent suspension all around.they all handle very well,SX4 actually beat civic but SX4 sport/sportsback against Si they have work to do.Kia is coming around.

  • @Tha89Kid its the image of driving a kia that makes you (the driver) look like youre struggling financially and not care about what you drive. Its the badge that makes you look bad. And the SX4 is in another class segment from the Forte and Civic. But personally I would prefer the Mazda 3.

  • mmh...another class segment?,SX4 are good japanese cars and actually better than the normal civic.the kia forte sx has already complains about the manual transmission. Mazda 3?i like it but i see old women driving it,not cool.plus it has road noise, poor handling same even for speed3.i prefer SX4 sport,i dont want to drive a car driven by old women.Kia is coming around

  • @donnie249 its not all about power, its all about how fun it is to drive. But the good thing about Suzuki, its now owned by VW. The 3, I dont want to know where you live, but mainly younger guys drive that car in most places.

  • yeah they do here too. Small cars are funner to drive i guess, who else does vw own? i know they own another company?

  • @donnie249 Audi, Lamborghini

  • @donnie249 and Bentley

  • kewl! i like the plad seats in the gti....dont know whyy butlol

  • i'd choose this over a civic too but stuff like lights that flash to the beat isn't something to brag about

  • Ide own one of these over and piece of shit honda..

  • 3:11 inline 6 eh?

  • haha ya I saw that.

  • A honda civic copy

  • I'd rather have this car than a civic theres alrdy enough of those on the street.

  • Comment removed

  • how old are you!? tard

  • exseped Civic are much better cars, and have much more exciting motors. and there chassis are much better set up.

  • exciting!? sound like a can of soup as soon as you modified it.... thats not exciting to me... I anyway I dont want a civic theres alrdy enough of those the road theres no pride in having what everyone else alrdy has.... n i dont like being a sheep

  • fine don't have 200hp 2.0L motor that rev's to 8,400 rpm. this car make 160hp out of 2.0L, and has worse economy then the civic. theres a reason why there are so many civic on the road.

  • (cough civic doesnt have 200hp cough)

  • the new ones do....but why the fuck would you look towards a honda civic si for performance? you know, a much as these tuner guys love spped, youdthink they would get a REAR wheel drive platform and a motor that produces more hp?

  • 2.0 is 173hp.... theres reason why theres so much civic on the road yeah sure but Im not interested by that piece of crap I know what honda are worth, I dont feel like spending all my money on oil

  • wow really what the hell Honda have you been driving, at the shop I work at there is a 84' accord that comes in that has 500,000 miles on it. the only thing we do is change the fluids and that it.

  • YES. thank you that's exactly what I think about these hondas and toyotas all over the place. How can you feel cool driving the same thing half the people at the traffic stop are driving?

  • I also have a suggestion if you are like me you dont like the KIA sign on the car... so you can change it for a TIGRIS Emblem that you can buy on ebay! give it a look... i've alrdy ordered mine... just waiting on the car now...dealer is slow on finding one

  • The headlights look exactly like those on the new volt concept

  • Volt copied this...this car has been in the making WAY before the Volt

  • make sure to google "kia forte forum and owners club" if you like or own the car.

  • woah thats a kia

  • I LIKE IT VERY MUCH, looks better than CIVIC SI... lol :)

  • Hmm..I like it. Very sporty..Affordable.
