I always remember this,it creased me up at the time!,first time i had heard a comedian use the F.Word!,Dave Allen was a comic genius who is still missed to this day!
The clock gag,yes remember this... All true, what he observes, except when you retire not always do you get a clock... Nowadays it is usually... A WATCH!.. :)))
Funny how things have come on, in the years - he was one of the most hated comedians by the people who were showing him, because he swore, talked about religion, etc., but was bleedin' brilliant ^_-. Heh, he's much better than the comedians of today, anyway, though I think Dylan Moran liked him when he was around - you can see the comedic resemblance ^_-.
Well said! People are apt to forget that every laughing Dave Allen- audience, is an English one. Like Dermot Morgan (of Father Ted fame), all audiences were originally English. Were it not for the English, one might never hear of Dave Allen or Dermot Morgan...The Irish forget so easily!
i have not seen anything on this guy in almost 20 yrs ,he made me laugh then and still does today .a true legend in comedy,he will be sadly missed..thanx alot femaleanimal for the uploads on dave,i have been searching for stuff on dave for a long time with no success, thanx again
I agree, femaleanimal.Peter Kaye's quite good on the observational slant of comedy, but he's nowhere near the incisive standard that Dave Allen perfected. My Mam., God rest her, was in sheer love with him, for his talent and his undeniable charm. I grew up with Dave on the tele - I miss him.
I think most British people of a certain age have a special place in their hearts for Dave Allen. He was our introduction to adult television. I love Morecambe and Wise and The Two Ronnies, but they were family fun. Dave was a bit more rebellious.
fantastic! thanks for the upload. dave allen's one of the better ones for sure. he should've said at the end, 'ladies & gents, and now the f...ing clock says we've come to the end of the programme...bla bla'
That moment has gone down in TV history ... I was lucky enough to be watching it when it was broadcast ... The man was a pioneer ... Absolutely brilliant
ahhh cheers for this clip...howled my silly head off.. dave allen...1 of a kind bless him...hope to see much more clips on here lol confessional ones were the best lmao

Can't believe anyone ever found this ponderous old fart funny. What a boring cunt.

@stupidjunk978 OK, so that`s at least 3 Dave Allen clips you have posted insults on. Seems like you are pretty boring.

@femaleanimal we on the internet call it "trolling"

@femaleanimal you are so right, he is boring, Not Dave Allen but stupidjunk, Allen was brilliant.
liamg353 1 year ago
@stupidjunk978 why do you keep watching him then?
he was one of the pioneering fathers of real alternative comedy, and most 'unconventional' comics of today owe him shitloads of credit.

EVERY audience, highly doubtful!!!!!

Perhaps not these days, but in the sixties, I am afraid so... such that the Irish support , if there was any, was negligible....

The Godfather of British comedy. I'm still deeply saddened that he's left us. Nobody has ever surpassed the standard of his observational humour.
hew35s 4 years ago 3
I don`t think anyone ever will, either. Sad we can`t hear his take on current events.

The greatest observational comedian ever in my view. Hilariously funny man.

Yeah. But he always said he didn`t use swear words just for the sake of it.

very true unlike the comedians of today, sadly robin williams falls into that group, he used to be very funny in his stand up
