oowoowo !! super excellent and great you really think probably some geek can comes to that old systems and use it again for transmitt some geeky stuff like kdv pthc data on that analog signal ?? LOL
Many stations actually needed to make the switch on the original date because of special circumstances (analog equipment failures, cities located in the hurricane zone, etc). It is really the big city stations that have the most complicated deal because many of them have to make a flash-cut to new channel spaces that have to be cleared out simultaneously by other channels. Those are the ones that elected to wait.

It was on the news that stations in S.F. and San Diego made a mistake by switching too early! President Obama changed the date because not everyone is ready yet. Get your facts straight. All L.A. stations are still analog so you got screwed by the idiocy of S.D.s stations.
If the stations that shut down analog were wrong the fcc should fine them and make them get the broadcast again, but I haven´t seen that, as a matter fact on channel 69 is dtv transition looping video that fcc provide kswb to help people after feb. 17. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT, do you really think that all those stations that did it, are idiots??

All tv stations had the option of anytime before 6/12/2009. I feel they are idiots for doing it early and screwing the elderly who are already confused about this. This is why Obama extended the deadline so people could get the coupons.
it sounds like you are the idiot. the original deal was when 80% of the country was capable of receiving digital signals the switch would happen. currently over 90% can receive digital signals but stations must continue to spend money in difficult economic times to satisfy less than 10% of the country. Slow and dumb people, for some reason, like to slow down technological advances.
Also I know many elderly people know what to do. The other ones are just waiting for someone else to do it for them. Also TV is not a necessity for life, if you can't figure it out or find someone to do it for you just leave it off.
Your comment is not old. IT is still relevant and deserves criticism for others to read when they watch this video so they can receive more than one opinion. Why are you calling me names NEWBIE? You joined on February 19, 2009. Thank you sir or madam.
Thanks. I had missed the part in the middle because I was watching the analog transmitter. My screen went to snow just as he reached for the button; obviously there was some latency in the video path.
KFMB didn't have any kind of ceremony. They just dropped off the air at 2359 in the middle of Letterman. I couldn't find them on digital for some time, it must have taken a while to get it turned on.
My fucking TV doesn't work now!
FUCK YOU!

I agree. They should have waited until June like the rest of the nation is. Everyone is not ready.

End of an era, for sure.
Notice the slightly dodgy quality of the digital signal ;)

I thought so because I tuned it at 11:40 on Analog and it was already gone.
