Partly biased, perhaps. Unfair, ya this was pretty extreme.
But you have to notice, there is a reason behind it.
The man is a complete jerk. If you can't see that, there is a problem. He may have exposed some crap, but fox in general completely ignores anything that calls their party out. They are extremely one-sided in what they publish.
Their bias is, as viewed by the people who made this video, completely unforgivable. They're simply speaking out against it for the better good.
i hope you realize that people have there own opinions when it comes to politics. Just because you wanna sit there and cry because someone doesn't agree with you doesn't give you the right to be an asshole. The bottom line is that everyone is biased whether you like it or not. No Beck is mockingly derisive, like a school yard bully. It is extremely mean-spirited and meant to anger people desiring serious discourse.
That and his claims border on sheer lunacy, and wtf is with the fake crying?
As for Olbermann, he tapped into the vein of Righteous FURY. He yells at those who sanctioned war-crimes, supported torture, bankrupted our economy, basically ruined our country.
That's not "mean-spirited," no more so than a judge sentencing a child-molestor to prison.
He doesn't use childish tactics like poor voice imitations and doesn't ask for people to resign, which Olbermann loves to do.
LOL at that third paragraph.
Fake crying? You can't prove that. I believe him to be sincere.
See, your definitions of "war crimes" and "torture" are different than mine. And the person with the most culpability in the government during the Bush years would be Greenspan. Oh, and Chris Dodd and Obama for filibustering the bill that would have regulated Mae and Mac.
Deregulation is NOT fine. It is b/c the lending institutions gave out bad loans, bundled them, and sold them on the stock market creating an artificial bubble which collapsed under it's own weight. They then blamed home-buyers who were suckered in by bush's "ownership society" dream.
Lehman Bros, AIG, and CitiBank are not Fannie and Freddie.
You're like a broken record with the "filibuster BS." Name the bill or it doesn't exist. Put up or shut up.
And you completely ignore what the government did. It basically forced banks to give loans to people who could not pay them. Are you that dense?
No, that wasn't Bush's dream. That was Clinton's.
Federal Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005. It's amazing what you can find with a simple Google search. Oh, I'm guessing that's too complicated for you.
No, I do know, the financing option you're talking about is over 30 years old. You're trying to say something done 30 years ago is responsible for the crash today.
I'm saying that a bill passed 9-10 years ago, eroding safeties put in place b/c of the Great Depression created problems that came to a head in 5-6 years.
Which is more likely?
It's the coffee-lounge/dining area at work. Big surprise: corporate is republican and only allows one news channel. Office drone.
btw S.190 died in committee, it was not filibustered.
Obama and Durbin proposed their own alternate bill of mortgage modification.
Arguing "What If?" is a moot point.

Torture doesn't produce as many useful results as one might hope either, seeing as those being tortured will just give as much false information as it takes to end the torture.
Either way, whichever of us is correct, there is a much deeper debate which can be had that I probably could not do justice to even if I had the time at the moment.
The first two sentence I can at least sympathise with, even if I'm not exactly sure I agree. I can say with confidence, however, that the third sentence I am opposed to. A "terrorist" is a person. A foetus is not a person. It is not conscious, it has never lived, it has no memories, no thoughts. I'd sooner protect a wasp.
A baby (fetus means little one) is alive. Even under your definition, the fetus will eventually be alive. You're ending a life no matter how you slice it.
A terrorist is evil. A baby is innocent. See the difference?
An unborn foetus is not a baby, and it is not conscious life at the point where pregnancy is terminated. It is alive in the same sense that a flower is alive. It is not conscious. It never has been. It doesn't matter if it could later become conscious. In that sense, jacking off is wrong because of all the millions of sperm cells that will die.
A terrorist has a bad sense of morality, but is still a person. An unborn foetus (not a baby) is not a person. It is a lump of unconscious cells.
Uh... huh? I knew that. I think you misunderstood. I asked what a "fetus" was? It's alright if I use the American spelling, isn't it? I am American and all.
I assumed you were trying to correct my spelling to the American version, seeing as I had basically already stated what a foetus/fetus is in an earlier comment.
Oh, had you? I wasn't following this exchange so I only saw your front page comment. And I wasn't trying to correct you, no, I'm very familiar with "foetus." Though if I were correcting you by asking what it was, I would've spelled it that way, wouldn't I? 's'alright.
Okay, sorry for the misunderstanding. To summarise though, I think pro-lifers are idiots. It's almost a misnomer as well, seeing as it almost implies that anyone who isn't pro-life is pro-death or anti-life, neither of which describe my position.
I see. I'm pro-choice but I don't think pro-lifers are idiots. I used to consider them ignorant & thoughtless but I don't at all anymore. I get their perspective and even agree with some general things they tend to argue, to an extent. The organism in the woman's belly may not be able to live without the woman but it's not some inanimate thing either. We all experienced that stage at some point. There's logic behind the pro-life stance. They simply don't want potential life to be interrupted.
The way I generally think of it is that I'm pro-conscious-life: in other words, I will not harm humans or animals (other than in self-defence), but I see no problem in ending the "life" of a plant, of bacteria, or of a foetus.
I don't see much sense in protecting "potential life" - in that sense we should never allow a woman to have a period, every egg should be fertilised. The real problem, however, would be making sure every sperm cell got an egg, too. That is an impossible task.
I think fetuses are more life-filled than plants or bacteria. They grow into you and me... as cheesy as that may read. Unfertilized eggs are, well, unfertilized. Same with sperm. Start of life has not been created if each element is left uncombined.
So where do you draw the line with regards to what's alive enough to save? An egg which has just been fertilised? This has no more significance to me than a flu virus. It's tiny and not a person. Is there some stage along the way when it starts to resemble a human (despite still not being conscious or thinking in any way) that you draw the line? Personally, I feel that until it is conscious, there is to morally prevent someone from aborting it (and abortions are done earlier than this point).
Where do I draw the line at what's alive enough to save? Not sure how to answer that one... The question's a bit too leading... I guess my answer is, the embryonic stage... but only if one WANTS to "save" it. I think once egg meets sperm the human begins.
disagreed. I think that even though you are technically right. that is the point at which life begins. A baby is not truly part of this world till it has exited the womb. IMHO
Are you ScotsmanRS? What do you mean by "truly part of this world?" Anyway, I can fully understand why a person would defend the unborn and be "pro-life." Makes sense.
Ya know what? Check out RSR #34 Soapbox on these guys channel.
After you watch it, consider that you are the exact kind of person that it's making a parody of. Everybody here sees that in you right now. We all have a mental image connecting that thing with you, and when you fight back, you're only playing the next part.
I just like to point out when people speaking from a position of little knowledge. I doubt any of the people who run this channel have sat through an entire episode of Glenn Beck.
I think it's funny that people keep saying we've "Gone Political." It was ever thus, people. I hope you all are looking forward to "Glenn Beck pt. 2"!
its not hatred for their president and people need to stop seeing it that way
its people, not just republicans, voicing their opinions and letting their voices be heard on topics that are very important and will shape the future of america
it's the freedom of speech
no matter who has been the president there has always been some voice of opposition to what they were doing, whether it was worth it or not
Some unknown creature from the X-Files should just drag him into the shadowy corners so he can never be on television or be able to voice an opinion ever again.
Lmao! Epic win! Its hard to believe that Glen ties all these random facts together to justify the bs he feed us. Its sad that he has any viewers at all.
Yes, that was awesome, wasn't it? Second only to Robot saying the classic "Epic fail!" My favorite part was Rock bringing up the very interesting point that there is a "dishelved" but no "sheveled." Would "sheveled" be a good thing? Is it the condition of being ultra ha bisky? Inquisitive minds want to know...
I used to do a radio show with my friend Spoon and we tried getting "sheveled" into the lexicon, or the shorter form, "Shevvy." So you would say it to mean, like, you've got everything under control. "You worried about that midterm exam, man?" "No, dude, it's totally shevvy." So shoutout to my friend Spoon-- rock is kind of channeling him in this episode.
That is so cool. I love how you make up your own words; my friends and I do the same. I guess "sheveled" IS sort of being ultra ha bisky, then, as we all know that, if you're under control, you are most certainly ha bisky!

Rape? Forceful sodomy? Bludgeoning to Death? Those don't fit "your definition" of torture? I guess we can inform the world YOU say otherwise.

What regulation did Obama as a member of the MAJORITY need to filibuster as a minority member would?

Didn't happen in Gitmo. Abu Gharib was bad, but that pales in comparison to what our soldiers went through when the tables were turned.

ScotsmanRS 2 years ago
I think fetuses are more life-filled than plants or bacteria. They grow into you and me... as cheesy as that may read. Unfertilized eggs are, well, unfertilized. Same with sperm. Start of life has not been created if each element is left uncombined.
JoanIsNotTheMaid 2 years ago
So where do you draw the line with regards to what's alive enough to save? An egg which has just been fertilised? This has no more significance to me than a flu virus. It's tiny and not a person. Is there some stage along the way when it starts to resemble a human (despite still not being conscious or thinking in any way) that you draw the line? Personally, I feel that until it is conscious, there is to morally prevent someone from aborting it (and abortions are done earlier than this point).
ScotsmanRS 2 years ago
Where do I draw the line at what's alive enough to save? Not sure how to answer that one... The question's a bit too leading... I guess my answer is, the embryonic stage... but only if one WANTS to "save" it. I think once egg meets sperm the human begins.
JoanIsNotTheMaid 2 years ago
disagreed. I think that even though you are technically right. that is the point at which life begins. A baby is not truly part of this world till it has exited the womb. IMHO
wejustdontcare96 2 years ago
Are you ScotsmanRS? What do you mean by "truly part of this world?" Anyway, I can fully understand why a person would defend the unborn and be "pro-life." Makes sense.
JoanIsNotTheMaid 2 years ago
That is not me, just another user who seems to agree with me.

Thank you. an opinion that makes some goddamn sense

However using "terrorist" as a catch-all is a fallacy.
Torture, rape, and murder were committed in Iraq, on insurgents & resistance fighters, NOT terrorists. There's a difference.
McCain and Intelligence experts have come out and said TORTURE DOESN'T WORK.
They tell you what you WANT to hear, not the truth.
I don't care about "terrorists." I care about the safety of our troops and the quality of our intelligence.
btw abortion is a NON-ISSUE 12 yr repub congress + 6 yrs of bush = No change

You'd like the youtube channel ' liberalviewer '
He's great for stuff like this. Very intelligent guy too, knows what he's talking about.
Despite his name, he is extremely neutral.

LOL. Neutral my ass. I've watched him. He's about as neutral as TYT.

I doubt any of the people who run this channel have sat through an entire episode of Glenn Beck.

thank you, i'm glad theres one person here that isnt following the fad of "FOX NEWS IS EVIL, CNN IS THE ONLY TRUE NEWS SOURCE"

I think it's funny that people keep saying we've "Gone Political." It was ever thus, people. I hope you all are looking forward to "Glenn Beck pt. 2"!
rockandsockandrobot 2 years ago
its not hatred for their president and people need to stop seeing it that way
its people, not just republicans, voicing their opinions and letting their voices be heard on topics that are very important and will shape the future of america
it's the freedom of speech
no matter who has been the president there has always been some voice of opposition to what they were doing, whether it was worth it or not

Some unknown creature from the X-Files should just drag him into the shadowy corners so he can never be on television or be able to voice an opinion ever again.

I love how robot says "Ha Bisky" at the end. Great.
fidgetingfinch 2 years ago
Yes, that was awesome, wasn't it? Second only to Robot saying the classic "Epic fail!" My favorite part was Rock bringing up the very interesting point that there is a "dishelved" but no "sheveled." Would "sheveled" be a good thing? Is it the condition of being ultra ha bisky? Inquisitive minds want to know...

I used to do a radio show with my friend Spoon and we tried getting "sheveled" into the lexicon, or the shorter form, "Shevvy." So you would say it to mean, like, you've got everything under control. "You worried about that midterm exam, man?" "No, dude, it's totally shevvy." So shoutout to my friend Spoon-- rock is kind of channeling him in this episode.
rockandsockandrobot 2 years ago 2
That is so cool. I love how you make up your own words; my friends and I do the same. I guess "sheveled" IS sort of being ultra ha bisky, then, as we all know that, if you're under control, you are most certainly ha bisky!
