can you make a TGG video on nixie tubes like how they work and the technology behind them? i'm only 14 and i'm sure other kids like me would be interested in them.
The frequency generator is probably outputting audio to generate a tone. In my school's studio, we generate I think its a 2khz tone that we put in some videos with color bars and slate so we can adjust/sync up equipment to what the main system uses.
I'll yell also, you should have checked if the freq gen is operating properly with an O'scope, and pressed again down that damn Reset button. Btw open these suckers in order to: 1 make a great videos about what's inside 2- check for for bad caps, bad solder joints, and clean all the rotary switches and card edge connectors, these great devices deserve it. (part 2 would obviously be a week-end job for Mr Kidwell)
Chris I've had one of those HP frequency counters... Open that sucker up and take a look at its beautiful wiring! Those things were built by hand! Also the Nixie tubes are mounted to a "card". Very cool way of doing it.
With a frequency input, press the reset, it will count the pulses,
The 1mc is a calibration output
I have a counter, watch here, mine has a start/stop input which is handy for using as a stopwatch, this can have sensors at the start and end of a process.
/watch?v=qS2osRTR1W4
That freq gen looks like it has an output for setting up audio equipment.
Looks like the counter is working fine. Sure you need to trim the gate to cut out that noise. Very cool. Also the number display at the start should be model number or part number, something like that.
Hi, let me introduce myself. I am the old guy yelling at the computer. When the time base is 1 second, you need several pulses per second (Hz) to get a meaningful reading. When the time base is .1 seconds (100 ms), you need tens of pulses per second to get a meaningful reading. So, setting the generator to 1 Hz is useless! Crank it up to a few kHz. Check the generator output with a 'scope - you have several including the "small demos" scope. Most painful captains blog ever! - Cranky in Holland.
oh and you even read that it says 10 Hz to 1mhz and yet you kept trying to run it at 1hz???? hack LOL i kid nothing but love here. i love your vids but come on read the label lol
for oil leaks, check the following, rocker cover, sump nut, head gasket, crank / driveshaft seals, transmission filler. if all these are sealing well you should have no worries
It's a magic/more magic switch. C'mon haven't you read the jargon file? ;) And carbon fiber's neat stuff. Worked at a company where they made aircraft brakes out of it.
can i make a duvet out of that carbon fiber fabric stuff, i gets cold in the winter, if i can get a big enough piece ill sew a liner and a zipper for a sleeping bag, -1000c rated?

that counter's internal oscilator is good.it is dead on 10 Mhz when you switch to check.
