Romney's one of the few people in the 2008 election who could deliver a great speech and speak off the cuff with an acumen and understanding you'd expect from a great President. Sorry, Romney clearly gets the economy--something neither McCain or Obama ever did.

Sorry, until Romney vows to abolish the Fed Reserve central banking system and allow the US to have free-market capitalism (which we haven't had in decades thanks to the Fed) then he's as blind as the rest of them.  His pro-war and pro-Israel plans don't help the economy either, along with his Big Gov't spending in the Dept of Homeland Security, Dept of Education, Dept of Agriculture, etc, etc.

It takes a pretty intentional blindness to say that Romney would be the same as Obama or Clinton in terms of spending. There's no way Romney would go on the spending spree that Obama has. Outside of Paul and maybe Fred Thompson, I see Romney as the most likely canddiate from last year's election to cut superfluous departments like Education and what have you, as well.
