I disagree with Obama on almost every thing, but on this. I dont think it's a big deal that he sent a message to the kids in school. If the most controversial thing he said was "stay in school and obey the teachers," to me thats no big deal. He has done things a lot more controversial since he has gotten into office, this is nothing.

Therefore, poor people should be taxed less. Rich, a proportional amount that equals the value of taxed money to a poor person. So naturally, rich people should be taxed more. Rich people storing money does nothing for the income and that has been proven.
The thing is most poor people don't pay tax, its the rich that pay the tax burden. The rich produce things the govt does. I've give to charity, and I've volunteered at a hospital, reading and teaching the sick people DRAWING. I've done many things to make a difference. I've felt so miserable cause I can't help these people. But I can only do so much.

I disagree with Obama on almost every thing, but on this. I dont think it's a big deal that he sent a message to the kids in school. If the most controversial thing he said was "stay in school and obey the teachers," to me thats no big deal. He has done things a lot more controversial since he has gotten into office, this is nothing.

It seems like it's almost a lost cause sometimes, but maybe his speech will help kids realize how important it is to be educated and stay in school. Maybe because of this speech we will have less gang violence and teen pregnancy. Who knows? But I don't see anything negative coming from this speech.

Franz, Obama said that if we dont pass the stim bill the unemployment would go over 8%. Well unemployment at 9.7% by Obama's criteria, it would have been better not to pass the stim bill. Thats where your wrong again, I've helped people and made a difference in their lives, I helped a boy in jr high who was being bullied, his mom had cancer and he had a tough time, but I got some help and support for him. I've give to charity, and I've volunteered at a hospital, reading and teaching the sick people DRAWING. I've done many things to make a difference. I've felt so miserable cause I can't help these people. But I can only do so much.

Hey statelybird, when Bush gave tax cut to all taxpayers the economy went up. Unemplyed rate was down to about 4.8%, the lowest in since Clinton, and the IRS collected record revenues. In 2006, the dems took over both houses and the econ started to slide down. Fannie and freddie was about to explode and the dems fought the rep to keep it going. Fannie/freddie fiasco was a dem controled program. Now Obama's stim plan is not working. Tax, spend, borrow, and print money and we have 9.7% unemplyed.

Yo, i don't know if you've read this really important study. The private sector has seen 3-4% growth in areas that would have had negative growth had it not been or the stimulus. The issue now, is not, is the stimulus working, but rather "will it stop when the stimulus stops?"

Picture that boy. If you were helpless to find a means to help him, how would you feel when this boy's mother passed away and then he was out on the streets? It is this belief that we liberals hold, that this boy deserves the care of a mother!
