  • She is a liar. It couldn't be more obvious.

  • I swear she must be an actor, she is fucking ridiculous.

  • who cares what this bitch thinks who is she just a person who speaks her mind, and playing a character

  • Would.

  • I'm right, but I aspire to be wrong. I wish I could be wrong. I feel wrong that I am right. I don't hate the wrong, I hate that those who are right, are right and showing that the wrong are wrong, that is wrong. I would rather wrong the right, than righting the poor wrong!!!!

  • What a weird, weird person... O_o

  • What the hell kind of atheist "aspires to be a person of faith"? I always thought you got to atheism by realizing the profound illogic behind an Asian carpenter zombie savior, or the idea that the earth is a few thousand years old and the dinosaurs and stars are either tricks of malevolent forces or tricks for our amusement, or that a loving God once condoned massacres, rape and slavery, often all at once. How do you realize that's all bullshit but still want to believe in it?

  • @bryleemck She could think that there are too many unknowns for us to completely write off there being a God. There may be no Jesus or Buddha or any other figure that we call by a name but there could be a creature/being that is able to manipulate the universe in a way that we cannot. Growing up with religion some people hope for something bigger than themselves to believe in.

  • @chelledc She said she's "envious of the faithful, and so [she] defends the faithful, especially the Christian right" after talking about her experience with Catholicism. She "doesn't believe in God, but [she's] tried really hard." She's talking exclusively about Christianity here, not Zoroastrianism or Mithraism or Wicca. And "aspiring to be a person of faith" strikes me as wanting not an evidential basis for belief but rather a loss of critical thinking. It's just an absurd thing to say.

  • She's an instrument of the right. This person is a character, not a legitimate atheist

  • She is lying she is a christian. Are you fucking serious it scares the hell out of me that someone has power and a christian they are sure to kill and get alot of people killed

  • Her persona and everything she says is manufactured. Made up. Spurious. Not real. She is not, repeat not, an atheist. She's a good actress though, in a bit-too-good-for-hardcore-porn kinda way.

  • notice how much she looks down and to the left. total "tell" that she's lying.

  • @dacrunkqb11 I don't think she's lying she's just not sure of the real answers because she seems conflicted.

  • The only reason I would say "oh god" and not believe in a higher power is if I was having sex, just saying.

  • She is not an Atheist.

  • Liar.

  • id fuck her brains out.....:/

  • My religion is to do good. I treat others the way that I wish to be treated and not because the Bible told me...Its because I am a human and I don't think i'm superior than anyone or anything on this earth.

  • Yeah, it keeps them honest... because, you know, they have to answer to an invisible sky daddy who holds no authority over an individual...

  • she's not an atheist... that's a fact

  • I'm completely unfamiliar with this person, but I like her religious stance as presented here. Makes me want to read her book.

  • i hear her and i hear closet evangelical.......

  • I am so fucking sick of the argument that the only way a person can have morals/values is if they're religious. I'm a good person because I want help the human race continue to better itself into the future and because it's the right thing to do. It cracks me up religious people are all high and mighty about their morally-superiority yet the only reason they have the values they do is the delusional fear of going to hell. Just keep giving your hard-earned money to tax-exempt pedophiles lol

  • @em129836 I agree with, you, but I must add that there are certain low minded criminal types upon whos depredations this does form a strangely beneficial restraint, albeit as sporadic and unreliable on. I myself several times turned emotionally upset and extremely stressed out crackheads from violent or otherwise immoral actions by appeal to their Christianity, while in Jail.

  • psycho

  • Dawkins and his religious devotion to evolution. He never admits it was an accident, or that it was truly random. The use of the word "accident" can be picked on, but we all know she meant it was "random" and random it is. Natural selection does not make mutations any less random no matter how much you try to make it seem like a conscious designer. tl;dr what kind of a frigging idiot believes evolution to be true?

  • troll

  • Alright, 3.5 mins in and I realize she's full of shit.

  • Interesting views.

  • She's a christian. And annoying.

  • This chick has no idea what an atheist is. She's so fake and a total grade "a" moron.

  • @rognad04 I don't think she's a moron. This is her gimmick to sell books over other Christian authors. If she didn't pretend to be an atheist who wishes one day she could be awesome like Christians instead of a dirty rotten atheist, you'd have never heard of her before and nobody would have bought her book(s) at all.

  • Nice to see a smart woman representing thousands of athiests

    /sarcasm

  • This bitch is insane!!!! Either she is a liar or she is retarded.

  • FUCK GEORGE W BUSH.

  • Charlatan.

  • idiot

  • Comment removed

  • She's full of shit and as dumb as a box of hammers.

She is NO atheist. It's beyond apparent.

  • This is how you get on TV. It's all an act. Being attractive helps also. The sexy conservative atheist (who makes sure to coddle Christians because they are the ones who will be deluded enough to buy what she's selling).

  • ITS A TRAP - shes a spy

  • It's amazing that under all that make-up it's just Sacha Baron Cohen doing his new character.

  • @Drekoguk haha, yeah. she prolly just trollin'.

  • @Drekoguk he has always cleaned up nicely

  • In other words she is agnostic but wants to butter up the christian right because she agrees with many of their, sick, twisted ideological hate messages. Or she is just a stooge pretending to be an atheist in order to allow her to attack atheism without accusations of bias. And failing, because she clearly doesn't know what she is talking about.

Im so glad I don't live in America.

  • Thats one two faced bitch.

  • 3:17 ...... what a fucking retard

  • does she have a twin sister in porn?

  • This bitch be makin' my spider sense tingle. I don't trust her.

  • @DonMezzo lmAo,u too funny. ur a clown son

  • somebody shoot her before i do 25 to life. DAMN!!!!!

legal disclaimer: i'm not going to kill her.

  • what a dumbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb

    BITCH!

  • I used to think I was indecisive but now I'm not so sure

  • She doesn't understand militant atheists because she's a beautiful white woman in america. Every group in this country loves people like her.

  • She's either an idiot or a liar. Either way, why is anyone paying attention to her?

  • Comment removed

  • Talk about someone sitting on the fence.

  • Comment removed

  • We should make a campaign to tell people she is not one of us. She is against us. She is self loathing, and a bitch. I hate they she likes to speak for me by saying she is an atheist she automatically can answer for me.

  • What a cunt, One day soon she will be like "I FOUND THE FAITH! I WAS ATHEIST BUT NOW IM HEALED!" I dont like her

  • She doesn't understand either argument yet so she's on television for dressing like the secretary who fucks Bill Maher

  • Well, dumb but hot. That seems pretty par for the course.

  • I think all atheists should be open to being wrong. I am willing to be proven wrong about there not being a God if evidence of sufficient weight appears, but it isn't here now and I doubt it will ever appear in the future. And yeah, she's a total plant

  • I'm so confused... I want to fuck the shit out of her but she is just such an idiot.

  • She's a phony.

  • @OthelloCarmellow Agreed. She reeks of being a Fox News plant who will, eventually, have a 'religious conversion experience.' She says 'I aspire to be a woman of faith one day.' Why would one who purportedly only believes that for which there is sufficient evidence want to believe some proposition on faith, that is, on the grounds that there is no evidence?

  • She's a fake. Next thing you'll see is her being "converted" to christ or some shit. If she's an atheist, why is she going out of her way to defend Christianity ? Why does she side with the Christian Right if she doesn't have a stake in the fight? Why pick sides?

  • @Lastsonkal She's already setting it up for the conversion 3:47 - 3:56. The yet at the end implies that she will believe in the future.Oh and at 1:36 - 1:46. Who aspires to be a person of faith if they're not alreay?

  • @2point7etc Yep, and not only that. She has a problem with a secular society too. Really? Newsflash, USA is already, and has been, a secular society. It's why we all have freedom of and freedom from religion here. Making laws based solely one religion, to enforce that religion's views, makes a theocracy.

  • This nutcase is NOT an atheist!

  • She's a wolf dressed as a lamb. What a cynical bag of shit.

  • Dang, atheist are sprouting out worse than homos, terrorists, and racists combined. How about realizing it after you die? I'm sorry it will too late because eternity will set in.

  • This woman's logic is so flawed its pitiful.

  • doesn't understand angry atheists? i don't think she understands atheists or what atheism is.

and atheists get angry when the religious proselytize and act like they help us so much when it insults and hurts us. militant atheists? listen if religious men and women can express pride fore what they believe then so can we.

  • there is a reason that atheists are angry. They are surrounded by the oppressive forces of religion.

  • "As an atheist, I could never imagine voting for or electing an atheist president for exactly those reasons. Religion keeps a person who is endowed with so much power honest. This is a person who is answering to a higher power every night." what.. the.. shit?

  • omg shes soooo stupid its like she belives in the team shes on but she wants to be on the other team just because she likes those people better

  • She's a very good troll, just like Ann Coulter. If this girl wasn't attractive, she wouldn't be getting the attention she is getting. PERIOD

  • She aint an atheist, when she talks about faith she says "it just hasnt found me yet".it gives the gimmick away a little

  • Honestly, I don't think she's an atheist, I think it's a gimmick to further her career. "How I found Jesus" by S.E. Cupp coming soon. She'll be the next Kirk Cameron, claiming to be a reformed atheist.

  • make up your mind bitch

  • Here's someone who's an atheist who should be rejected is she attempts to join "the brights." Actually, I don't think she's atheist. She's just a confused nonbeliever, which as stated is an oxymoron.

  • If Cupp is an atheist she's smart enough to say what religious people want to here and take their money. Same end result as their leaders behind the podium, just a different approach. She says everything a theist would want to hear about atheists "I think its all an accident" "we are 2% of the population", "I'm open to being converted" "I'm envious of the faithful", blah, blah, blah. I'm sure she's happy to be their "atheist", and tell them whatever they want to hear, all the way to the bank.

  • she's actually being very objective and is just trying to not weigh facts that don't exist.

  • terrible poster child for Athiests, she's quite the Agnostic and one who hasn't thought this through very much...

  • The only parts in this video worth watching were the ones with Richard.

  • She's not lying, she's confused. I completely understand her. Atheists have a lot to envy. The hope of eternal life is eternal life because you wouldn't no otherwise if there wasn't.

  • This woman can't even be honest with herself. She is a lying idiot, she lies to us, lies to the media lies to herself. Quite frankly its pathetic.

  • This person does not and should stop attempting to represent atheists.

  • If she's a Theophile,I'm changing my name to Theo.

  • @ElectrumShiv lol

  • @ElectrumShiv Theo Phile?

  • She doesn't have any idea how the vast majority of atheists think. I think it's more likely she's a poe or setting up a conversion.

  • @ 3:10 "religion keeps a person, who is, endowed with so much power- honest." About those WMD's...

  • Still waiting for her book called "How I discovered Jesus" or some stupid thing like that, she isn't an atheist, she's obviously trolling.

  • She's a troll. TROLOLO

  • She's a plant - controlled opposition. She is NOT an atheist.

  • Comment removed

  • She's a Christian

  • I kind of feel like she is really a theist in disguise.

  • This bitch.. she's like MAD that there isn't a god and KNOWS it, but defends religious people because she's a self-loathing atheist. How can you say you don't have a "dog" in this fight, you still have beliefs concerning god and the fallibility of religion.

  • i can't understand any non-believer saying they want to believe in the supernatural. maybe they should read some of the holy books and check out the evil that religion has sponsored in our world. i guess maybe they don't want responsibility in their lives, so they want religion/gods to think for them.

  • This chick is fucking stupid. It doesn't matter if you're religious or non-religious. Everybody is dishonest.

  • ?!

  • she doesn't know what the fuck she wants

  • How is it possible to take anything she says. embarrassment to women. i just want to tell her o shut up and make me a sandwich!

  • As an atheist, I don't feel that I speak for all other atheists as some here seem to. I'm a more conservative atheist, I am not an angry atheist (ok sometimes I am) BUT I would vote for an atheist if I agreed with his/her platform. I wouldn't say that I want to be converted, but I do think it would be awesome to believe that after I die I could see my loved ones again. So here is an atheist uttering those words...I wish I was a religious person...sort of.

  • @epicenglishify so you wish to be with your loved ones ? lmfao dude your a loser, athiests know that there is no after life and make of what they have now on this earth. Your a fool. so your telling me you agree with the stoning of females and such activities that religion dables in ? fucking athiests like you make us look like pussy agnostics when we aint closse, wev made up our mind and canbe pretty certain god doesnt exist, never 100 percent but we have evidence to show that he aint existant.

  • @MiloMatrataMusic I said I wish I BELIEVED I could be with my loved ones after death. And you can claim to be an atheist if you are agnostic because you do not BELIEVE there is a god. Belief is the cornerstone to religion. Look it up...I'm not just making stuff up here.

Basically, I just don't know what you are getting your panties in a wad about. I can be an atheist without being angry, but apparantly, you can not.

  • Comment removed

  • I'd fuck her!

  • how can you be an atheist and say things like i dont believe in god "yet", "im envious of people of religion", and "im a fan of george bush" and use words like "secular agenda".

i dont get this woman at all

  • @gat0rgirl13 lol exactly , this women is no athiest ...... guaranteed not, im an athiest and my views are nothing like this stupid cunt... I want to be converted ??? wtf no athiest will EVER utter those words

  • @MiloMatrataMusic You don't believe she's an atheist because her views are not like yours?

  • @epicenglishify no you fool, because her views would not be charactarized as an athiest, she is a fucking agnostic, Stupid bitch honestly doent know what athiesm means when she uttered the frase " i want to be converted".... What the fuck, as an athiest i intend to show the world the horrors of religion and to get people to wake up and start beliving in science fact and REASONING all things that we can do and see, unlike god or man made religion, please dont troll back im not in the mood

  • @MiloMatrataMusic Oh woops, I just read the part where you didn't want me to troll back. I thought we were having a conversation.

Since you think me a troll, I'll leave you with a trollish comment - I think you have issues with reading comprehension and reasoning. Seriously, you are no intellectual...just angry.

  • @gat0rgirl13 I kind of get her wishing she were a believer. And as an atheist I can see a bit of a secular agenda and I can definately see a leftist agenda. I think that if people were more honest, you would learn that there are more conservative atheists than you think.

  • @epicenglishify i dont get her saying "secular agenda" because the u.s. is a secular country and she should know that. if she said liberal agenda i would understand. but i really dont see how she says she doesnt believe in god "yet" probably because i dont believe and have no intention of ever believing again. i doubt they're are a lot of conservative atheists - maybe fiscally - but i guarantee you there arent any that think homosexuality is a sin

  • 2 girls and an s.e. cupp

  • So her feelings toward religion and faith are just like most people's feelings about UFOs and ghosts. They don't believe but they want to believe.

  • She's a Christian and doesn't know it. Weird lol

  • @Netheeros Yes, very weird she is. It's almost as if she just doesn't wanted to be attacked by anyone. How do you avoid attacks altogether on the subject of religion? Just say you don't believe in a higher power but that you will defend those that do. Mission accomplished, the Christians now respect you. But oops, atheists just think you're freakin' weird and a coward. Ah, she almost pulled it off.

  • I thought her name was DDD Cupp.

  • I find S.E. Cupp either a) disingenuous, or b) unable to admit her fears.

Here's the thing: atheism isn't--when it comes to death--comforting, so when she talks about understanding the "allure of religion" what she's really saying is that she's afraid and wants answers to the big questions. But those aren't logically sound, reasonable, rational reasons for religion. They ARE, however, the main reasons why people find religion (aside from social acceptance).

    Pretty =/= sexy

    Smart =/= sexy

  • @PaladinHero

"atheism isn't--when it comes to death--comforting"

It is if you're not a moron. Before you were born, you were not in pain. You had no fear, loneliness or regrets. You existed in this state for trillions of years before you were born. Billions of lives came and passed in that time, each with their own emotions, desires and thoughts.

Non-existence is not a threat, nor is it something to be feared.

It is arrogant and self-centered to assume that you are immortal.

  • @leftovers0 No. The concept of non existence is frightening and intimidating to me, and I'm not a moron. I understand the concept, having experienced something close to it recently, but it still isn't something that a lot of people take no comfort in, even intelligent ones. I resent your unnecessary condescension and implication of my intellect simply because it doesn't happen to bother you. THAT'S arrogant and self-centered.

  • @PaladinHero EDIT: *isn't something that a lot of people take comfort in

  • @PaladinHero

I can assure you that consciousness is infinite. The evidence is in existence. Only intelligence designs and creates.

  • @PaladinHero

Death should not bother you. It is frightening and intimidating to you because the idea of non existence is a difficult one to comprehend, as the very fact that you are contemplating something means that you still exist.

I only fear the means by which I die. I fear pain and suffering. But how can I fear non-existence? How can I fear something that I will not experience, that will not be recognisable by any sensory awareness?

The world was here in 1834. I was not.

  • @leftovers0 No, it is frightening b/c the idea of not having consciousness anymore saddens me. I understand I won't be sad or have context to know what has happened, and yes the manner of death concerns me too but this is the majority view of humanity and one of the driving mental forces of what separates us from animals: our cognizance of our own deaths. I'm happy for you that it doesn't bother you but that's not me and you shouldn't degrade me b/c I don't share your viewpoint.

  • @PaladinHero

Atheists lie to themselves. If they were drowning, they would recognize how precious life is.

  • @onefodderunit

Pretty much every land-dwelling animal species will struggle for its life if drowned. It does not make any one of their lives inherently important.

Your life is important to you, because without it, you would not have a chance to exist. and your life is important to those around you, because they've formed emotional connections with you, and to break those ties would cause negative emotional responses.

Life is precious in this context, yes, but it is not magical.

  • @leftovers0

Soul and consciousness are not dependent on finite matter.

You have no soul, Atheist, and only need to fake integrity to cope in society.

You want me to believe that you're too stupid to recognize the endless evidence that life is a creation of conscious intent.

You want me too believe you're so stupid that you think matter self materialized and created life.

    OK, stupid.

You Atheists don't walk your talk. Kill yourself, since your life was never intended.

  • @onefodderunit

"Soul and consciousness are not dependent on finite matter."

There is no evidence that a soul exists, and conclusive evidence that consciousness is the product of the brain.

You want to believe that just because you happened to be born, that you get to exist forever. That's wishful thinking, and there's zero evidence of it being the case

Your conscious thoughts, your emotions, your subconsicous, your fears, your reactions, your desires. all functions of the brain

  • @leftovers0

Consciousness is infinite energy, stupid. The evidence of this is creation of this existence,

You're so stupid that you believe matter created itself, and life. You are Atheist.

you wrote: "Death should not bother you"

    Walk your talk, Atheist.

Go get a couple of gallons of wine and find some railroad tracks to pass out on outside of town where the trains go fast. You'll never feel a thing.

  • @onefodderunit

    "Consciousness is infinite energy, stupid"

Where is the evidence that this is the case.

"The evidence of this is creation of this existence"

Where is the evidence that existence was "created"?

"You're so stupid that you believe matter created itself, and life."

No, I am not claiming to know where existence or matter came from. If they had a beginning, if they were created or the product a natural cosmic event or an accident. You are the one positing a claim of knowledge.

  • @leftovers0

You're fanatical about your Orthodox Rejection of intelligence, stupid.

  • @leftovers0

You need help, stupid? Name a system that you are sure you can prove is a creation of chance, to rationalize your Atheist faith in chance.

  • @onefodderunit

I'm really not sure how to make this clearer. I am not making a seperate opposing claim of knowledge to yours. You are implying that you are defending creation, and I'm defending chance.

This is not the case. I am not claiming to know if the universe was created, or if it came about by chance, or if it even had a beginning. I don't claim to know.

You are claiming that you know an intelligence force intentionally created the universe. You must support this claim.

  • @leftovers0

Intelligence is a creation of intelligence. Where's your evidence that intelligence can be created by something else, stupid, in support of your Atheist rejection of intelligence.

Why don't you kill yourself? You were told how to do it painlessly.

you said: "Death should not bother you"

    You're pure bullshit, Atheist.

  • @onefodderunit

I don't wish for death, I just don't fear it. My point is that, once life ends, you cannot look back and wish you had done things differently, or wish that you were still living. you simply cease to be.

Just as I was not, in my billions of years of not existing prior to my birth, uncomfortable in any way, I do not fear returning to that state.

also, natural selection is a well supported and logical explanation for the natural occurance of intelligence.

  • @leftovers0

No one is going to believe you don't fear death, stupid.

You are a liar. You admit you don't know the origins of the universe or life, then you claim that it's a "natural occurance" (your spelling) for intelligence to appear from an unknown, nonliving origin.

You have no soul, no integrity and no purpose. Kill yourself, lying Atheist.

  • @onefodderunit

You believe souls exist. You believe there is an afterlife. You believe there is a god.

There is no proof of any of these. If you want me to believe these things also, I will need you to support those claims.

  • @onefodderunit No one's arguing that their life isn't precious; it is to them at least (and those that love them). I think your understanding of human value in light of atheism is lacking. There doesn't need to be a deity or an afterlife for me to value my existence and not want it to go away. I am not alone on this.

  • @PaladinHero

According to Atheist faith, life is purposeless byproduct of chance.

One may give their life purpose, such as raising purposeless procreations, but it in the end, it's all for nothing.

It's OK for adults to choose to believe this, I suppose, but it is wicked to teach children that it has scientific basis. There are no scientific theories for matter self materializing, or matter turning itself into life.

The purpose of life is spiritual evolution via self examination.

  • @onefodderunit I don't think you have a firm understanding of evolutionary theory and how it relates to life's purpose. The biological imperative is the meaning of life). "Chance" and "We don't know yet" aren't synonymous; science is working on it but the prevailing theory is that while some of it is chance, a lot is predictable patterns based on environmental survival necessity.

And while I disagree that it's wicked to teach this to children, I DO think it's wicked to teach religion to them.

  • @PaladinHero

No functional system is known to have been produced by means other than intelligence To believe solar systems, ecosystems, circulatory systems, respiratory systems, reproductive systems are all byproducts of chance is not rational.

    .

  • @onefodderunit I think science would refute you on this point, probably with mathematics. Again, I don't think you've been exposed to good scientists and/or free thinkers yet. I'm not being a dick, I'm just saying that this statement is often argued against by people who devote their lives to the scientific methods that explore those fields.

  • @PaladinHero

There is a Deliberate Dumbing Down of society taking place.

That phrase is taken from a book written by a former senior policy advisor at the US Department of Education, Charolette Iserbyte who has an excellent interview on youtube about the subject.

Her book, The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America was a best seller.

Graduate knowledge in general education is reduced with each passing decade.

Darwin's 19th century theory is essential to this curriculum (more, later).

  • @PaladinHero

Lets take this one point at a time. First; There is no scientific theory for the materialization of matter. There is no scientific theory for the belief that matter turned itself into life. This belief is entirely faith based. Do you accept this point?

  • @onefodderunit No, I don't, primarily b/c from what I understand (which isn't a great deal, and I'll admit that) light energy and light matter constitute about 1% of the known universe's make up, while dark matter and dark energy constitute 99%. From what I've found, quantum fluxuation is what provides a springboard for this transformation. I'm not educated enough to fully know how, but that's not a matter of faith in the typical sense of the word; it's a matter of theory and anticipation.

  • @PaladinHero

Einstein said: "When the answer is simple, God is speaking."

Dark Matter is a hypothetical. The universe is 99% plasma. One characteristics of plasma is its Electro Magnetic Field. Consciousness is also Electro Magnetic and its field is measured externally with an Magnetoencephalogram (MEG)

Highly recommend listening to video #4 at my profile,

The Electric Universe debunking: nuke furnaces, big wanks, black holios, neutron stars, red shifts (under 10 minutes long)

  • @onefodderunit I think Einstein had an unorthodox stance on "God". He may have been a deist, I'm not sure. Either way, yeah I'll give that video a shot but I have to be honest: I'm no longer interested in what spiritualists, theists, or the religious have to say. Again, I've lived that life and the jury's in for me. I know that my mind may be changed at some point but I find more legitimacy in science than numinous faith the further I go along. I just want to be honest with you.

  • @PaladinHero

    Back to the point of which Atheists are commonly in denial;

Atheists believe that life is a byproduct of a chance primordial chemical reaction called Abiogenesis.

There is no scientific theory for this occurring and in fact there are many physical reasons why it can't, not to mention that life is an energetic force, not particulate.

Without scientific theory or evidence, it is impossible to deem Atheism to be science based. Atheism is faith based and ignores evidence.

  • @onefodderunit Abiogenesis is indeed a problem in science, but again, scientists say, "We don't know but we're working on it" as opposed to "God did it", which is a standard faith-based response. I see the reason for believing this, having been a Xian for nearly 20 years, but there's no justification for it. I'll take the honesty of "I don't know" over damn near anything religion has to offer any day b/c in my experience, science has been verified more often and is more honest.

  • @PaladinHero

Honesty is appreciated. I don't belong to a religion. Einstein was not religious and didn't believe in a personal God. He did however recognize the existence of the historical Jesus and said he was "enthralled by the luminous figure of the Nazarene"

Einstein recognized existence of God in the order of the universe. Chance is chaos. Chaos is disorder. Intelligence is order.

Einstein defined God as an "illimitable superior spirit . . . of a superior reasoning power"

  • @onefodderunit Gotcha. While I--like damn near everyone--greatly respect and admire Einstein, I don't think there's any hard justification for the corrolation b/w intelligence, order and the nature of the universe. There's observable chaos in the universe too, especially on the quantum level; it's not all order (although that depends on how terms are defined). But I'll grant that "chaos" may just be what we don't yet understand, which falls into science's "we don't know yet" bin.

Einstein said he believed in Spinoza's God.

Baruch Spinoza said, "We feel and know that we are eternal.", and "Whatsoever is, is in God, and without God nothing can be, or be conceived."

  • @onefodderunit I guess it depends on how you define God and our corrolation to it. With all due respect to you, Spinoza and Einstein, I wholeheartedly disagree with Spinoza's belief concerning God. However, belief in a clockwork deity is harmless b/c it doesn't concern itself with human behavior, laws and how people live their lives. I can get behind that b/c it means those beliefs won't infringe upon my life or the (potential) lives of my children and stymie progress.

It amazes that Atheists believe every decision made is output of chemical reactions in the brain. If you decide to risk your life to save a stranger, it was a decision made by chemicals?

It blows me away that people can't tell they are animating a short lived material body and perceiving the world through its five senses.

We are not our bodies. We are infinite consciousness. The universe is infinite energy and so are we. Only matter is finite.
