Thankyou Giles. I read your article in the times last year. I was crying in my car and it gave me hope. wonderful story, I have flagged it for my grandsons. pigs are very happy creatures if they are allowed to "be a pig". that is not be deprived of sunlight, not having to stand on concrete or metal slats 24/7 their whole lives, not be able to root in the soft earth.

have you ever met a pig? they are the most serene, loving creatures if given the chance. pigs in factory farms become jumpy, anxious and agressive.this has to do with the extreme confinement, crowded housing, un-natural conditions, air quality and chemicals they pump into them. do yourself a favour and find a pig sanctuary in your area, and discover the wonder of the pig. you will never eat pork again.
