I have the opening to SciFi Cartoon Quest with the strange backgrounds and the young people that are looking for the ringed planet talisman. I will put them up soon.
Little Shop was a KICK-ASS bizarro show with a very dark sense of humor and 1 or 2 really imaginative music 'video' sequences in every episodes. Based on the musical which itself was based on a weird old Roger Corman horror movie. Maybe it'll turn up again - watch the skies!
@candymountain3456 The future high school thing was called "Galaxy High School" and was undoubtedly one of the best Saturday morning cartoons to come out of the late 80's. It can be seen on Youtube and or purchased on DVD. I highly recommend it.
SCI-FI Channel dropped the ball when they stopped airing classic programming (like this block) in favor of cheezy made for video B-movies and wrestling. They should seriously consider catering to fans in order to boost their ratings.
@BrooklynChivalry USA Network stopped airing Cartoon Express right around this time too. I think they felt the pinch from the Cartoon Network and Disney Channel. Plus the FCC started all that Childrens Television Act E/I crap. Back in 1999 SciFi aired shows from the BKN (Bohbot Kids Network) on their 1999-2000 morning schedule which included Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles, Monster Rancher, Extreme Ghostbusters and Men In Black The Animated Series. SyFy Kids was to debut in early 2011.
"Baby from Outer Space" has anyone seen a cartoon aired on scifi in the 90s with a babysitter being tormented by two aliens that wanted him to put the baby in the microwave? The aliens shoot lazers out of their arm pits.
Sci Fi Channel has become too streamlined. They try too hard to be accepted now. I want the old Sci Fi Channel back that showed Sci-Fi Buzz, Monsters, Land of the Giants, Exposure, Ray Bradbury Theater, Night Gallery, Mystery Science Theater, Saturday Morning Anime, Defenders of the Earth, Antigravity Room.
Don't they realize their own shows and movies SUCK!? Tinman!? Please! Flash Gordon!? Not the one I know! Frankenfish? Snakehead Terror? Hammerhead? Marabunta? You've got to be KIDDING!!!
OH DAMN! I remember watching this. They also added Star Wars Droids and Ewoks to the mix later, when they named it Animation Station. Those were the days...back in the mid 90s. Damn I miss those mornings. Too bad Sci-Fi will no longer play them. :( Thanks for the flashback.
If Sci-Fi Channel's Sci-Fi Cartoon Quest is still on the air, they should have programs like...
Land of the Lost
The Lost Saucer
Underdog
Transformers
Star Blazers
SilverHawks
Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters from Beverly Hills.

I remember when SciFi channel used to show "scifi"! Now it just chick flicks with bad special effects and professional wrestling!
(What the heck is professional wrestling doing on a channel devoted to science fiction?)
CavoriteProductions 4 years ago 9
@CavoriteProductions I wouldn't call Sharktopus a chick flick. But it is crap.

I really miss their cartoons and their old content before they started producing their own shows. Back in the MST3K days.

I must have missed that. They never had cartoons on Sci-Fi in the mornings where I lived. I feel left out now.
