  • Taped a couple of reel to reel tapes on this little tape recorder from Radio Shack and would put alligator clips on the speaker leads to get the best sound because we didn't even have line inputs then- so I had all this stuff ftom WNAP in 1970 and '71 and later dubbed it to cassette and had it for years. Heres some of it with some Super 8 film I had with Bodibe at the begining- Tiders on the Storm from 1971:

  • Started listening to NAP in Belzer junior high- this weak weak signal no one knew- then FM STERO radio was just new- about '68 Top Nine Tonight- Stairway was #1 about a year, SRO- Hall of the Mountain King- Chris Conner showed up at the Northeastway pool in this littlre TINY painted up Subaru- Smallest car I ever saw. Listened on my parents big "coffin" stereo console- the clarity was new and great- no static at all! Knew Adam Smasher- AKA Asher Benrubi from IU and Pure Funk years later

  • Buster will be in Indy Jan 14th for the World Premiere of the movie Naptown Rock Radio Wars at the IMAX downtown...hope all the fans of the Buzzard makes it out

  • with nap, sure like someone to post something from chris conner.......he was soo cool with his kinda- like howard cosell voice...he was there early, say, '69.....buster bo kinda remains me of lester bangs.....the exuberence..and the voice flexibility...very entertaining..!..

AT THE AGE OF 22, I LOVED ADAM SMASHER, I'M A BLACK LADY, THAT WAS TREATED VERY KIND FROM MANY FOLKS OF ALL SORTS ,THE STOPLIGHT WAS THE SPOT. AND UNCLE MUNCHIES THE SPEAK EASY AT KEYSTONE AT THE CROSSINGS, DISCO DID NOT SUCK! IT PUT MANY PEOPLE OF ALL WALKS OF LIFE TOGETHER , PEOPLE RESPECTED ONE ANOTHER AT THE DISCO, IT WAS THIS PAIR OF TWINS PAT & MIKE HORTON WHAT HUNKS,,,, LEMONS LUDES

  • At one point in time, WNAP was THE BEST station in Indy. I was only 12 years old when I started listening to

WNAP (in '70). They sponsered the Broad Ripple raft races, among other things. They ruled the airways until they tried to jump on the

Disco bandwagon. I ( along with many others) felt betrayed and disgusted. that was when Q95 jumped out Rockin' and took over.Eventually WNAP tried to switch back to Rock, but it was too late. Sad but true.

  • Damn! who remembers Adam Smasher?!

  • i remember this like it was yesterday! rock on!

  • The world needs a station like The Buzzard again. We are ready for Bodine & Chris et al to play the music and amuse the masses.

  • I moved to San Diego in 81. Buster was a DJ at a station and I had chatted with him a couple of times.

He started doing voiceovers in LA. And if I am not mistaken still does voiceovers for national products etc.....

  • Wow! Brings out great memories. A little bud, Little Kings, WNAP, no worries and a cruise to Indy for a concert. As they say, "those were the best times of my life."

Wish I could be there again.

  • The Buzzard ruled and Buster was the BEST!

  • MAN,

If only the buzzard were still around!

  • WNAP was my favorite local station.

  • Brings back good memories!
