  • where you in austria somewhere around imst, innsbruck?

cuz it looks familliar to me XD

  • Lol, I paid more attention to the background than the heli! Where do you live? Just seeing those mountains with all that snow makes me want to go snowboarding!

  • soft landing.. there not all like this..

  • I have found that if you keep the lipo's worm it helps them to give the amps you need. I use a hand warmer and a thermal container to keep them snug. Then only take it out just before the flight. Ones you run them up they keep their temperature. I have done this in -2 night flying. Works a treat. :)

  • that was funny :D

  • Wow... serious mountain scenery there. I don't have a Trex 500 yet (waiting until spring), but if I did, I think I might try flying with snow on the ground too.

  • bet the battery doesnt last long out in the cold

  • hahahaahah

  • That looks like an amazing place to live.

  • looks only 20 feet up, even that may be an exageration, but it had like what? 2 feet of padding? worst it could do is snap one of the rotors or fuck with the battery...

  • Iv had mine drop out of the sky like that from cold. Horrizon said when the lipo gets too cold, the esc wont get the desired amps and shut down. U got lucky!!

  • @poitka80 internal resistance within the pack goes up when its cold. Pre-heat the pack to 110 deg. and it will be just fine.

  • @ryanrummler oooh thanks. how cold was the day of your crash?

  • Sounded horrible from start.

  • I don`t hear a noise of crash. SAFE....!!!

  • Mutley laughing. lucky snow save

  • never heard of take a break take a kitkat xD

  • when your motor sounds like someone beatboxing very poorly that usually means dont fly

  • very nice auto rotations at the end

  • You never fly an electric helicopter in cold weather the Lipo batteries don't like it .

  • adore les trex

  • was that intentional knowing you had a thick layer of snow to "land on"?

  • nooo i cant look!

  • That Snow Crash!!!! Hahaha, get it?

  • Sounds like you have a bearing going out. Motor bearing bad=too much current=Esc burning up.

  • beautiful country there. where is that?

  • @hellrayzer21

    his profile sais Switzerland...

  • Electronics doesn't care about little snow.. only thing that could freak out is receiver and thats only after you bring it inside and next time you go out.. if its still wet.

If you have hi rpm, your blades, feathering saft, mainsaft so on will go like in gras etc.. maybe it helps little with landing gear and tailboom.. I havent had any problems with heli+snow, only rc-car + snow.

    Regards from Finland ^^

  • Is snow a lot more forgiving than grass or, tall weeds?

  • only if you get it out of the snow very fast and blow all the snow out or bye bye ,all the electronics will get wet and we all know what happins when you mix water with electronics, but yes it allmost pads the crash

  • did you find out what it was ? sounds like an ESC issue cutoff, at least it didn't look like a smash !

  • ok dude you can go takeoff now ...its not a turbine

  • U know align esc system? It take offs slowly like real helicopter turbine engine.

  • thats is a nicest crash ever :)

  • Geile Landung :-) Hoffentlich passiert mir sowas nie

  • 500x better than crashing on pavement, 300x better than grass.

Can't go wrong with the good ol' snow.

  • what about electronics dude!?

  • nice auto hahah did the battery die???

  • I think its too cold for the Lipo!!!!

Please keep Lipo always warm!!! Never Cold!!!

Flying in the winter is difficult!

  • Sounds like a failsafe shut the throttle

or the pinion came loose on the motor shaft

or the one way bearing let go.

or could be the lipo got so cold it did a voltage shut down on the ESC.

Flown my 450 and 500 a fair bit in the snow with no electrical issues. Best if you keep the lipos warm before you fly!

  • live laugh learn nd uve dun it well lol. did a similar thing tryin 2 land my plane in th snow

  • lmao the heli looks like the only thing in colour 0.o everything else is in black and white xD

  • Now you see me.. now you don't =P

  • As its a real problem flying electric helis in snow.

    Snow = Water.

Electrical equipment dont like water or snow.

So in the end you get electrical malfunction.

  • the great helicopter dissappearing trick :D.. trying to do an auto?

  • Wow, beautiful country to live in!

  • amazing scenery. Looks like its straight out of a movie

  • That seemed very gentle. Did it get damaged at all?

  • but the snow has saved ... I have not damaged anything

  • what happened to the auto?

  • esc problem:(

  • esc's done and your motor bearing's done too =)

  • esc burned ...motor OK

  • i heard screechings from the motor

    sure bearings are ok?

  • sounds like bearings

  • not sure if its me or the recording but yer bird just doesnt sound right...not at all like any of my trex 500's what motor ya useing?

  • bird doesnt sound right, either the motor is in a poor shape or something doesnt seem to go smoothly... check your main gear and turn the blades, if it's ok then your motor proberly is bad...

Get that bird fixxed men!! it's a beauty to fly;)

  • Loss of power, ESC ?

  • yes:(

  • Ouch what happened?

  • esc problem:(
