@airbikebuilder Why that is the "Best little Airport in Kansas".....that is the famous 17/35 grass runway at Gardner Municipal airport in Gardner, Kansas..you would have to look high & low to find a finer turf runway.....we absolutely love our down home little airport, feel free to come and visit our little airport in June (on fathers day) for our WW1 fly in featuring some really neat WW I replica Neuports...and a great Vintage aircraft fly-in a week or so later....great fun and neat birds..!!
Joe is the builder/owner and he is running a 70"D Sterba not sure on the pitch but he said he climbs about 1200'/min cruise 110 mph at 3000rpm its a geared engine(3:2)so he'd be running the prop at bang on 2000rpm. Joe's is running a pretty stock set of Kitfox legs with fatish tyres but with a 76" prop with the same engine you can get almost 2000' /min I have flown at this rate in a mark 4. Static thrust was just a shade over 500lbs with a 76"D x 50"P. Fuel @ 5.5GPH.
hey beautiful plane - I sent you a video response of my own KITFOX - what is the horsepower? rate of climb? prop? pitch? all those goodies re: that round engine - thanks nice flying
I would trade my 2.7 gal / hr Jabiru for that juicy radial ANY DAY. Beautiful aircraft!
