I bought the same year, make, model and color as the one tested here and am still driving it with absolutely no complaints in those five-plus years. Highly recommended.
They Said the 2006 Ford Fusion, Mercury Milan, and lincolin Zepher got a poor rating on side crash test and acceptable on front crash test in 2007 after Jan it got a good on front, side , and rollover, also the rear crash test but YOU MUST BUY SIDE AIRBAGS!
i bought one 2 years ago brand new and it is one of the best cars i have ever had! i live in the north and we get alot of snow and i have the 6cyl front wheel drive and i can get through 2 ft drifts like nothing. Also the gas milage is amazing for a v6. I drive 100 miles aday to work and back and i only have 2 fill up once a week. Also very comfortable on long car rides very cozy and warm. I love mine and i think that you should really check into one.
My friend just bought a 2007 Milan with a 4cyl 5spd manual. I borrowed once to go on a long trip I was not impressed at all by the gas mileage very bad for a 4cyl. He told me they been getting 23-24 avrg. I thought something was wrong with the car cuz I was going on the freeway at 70 mphs in 5th gear and the rpm's were over 3,000 that too high. that explains the bad gas mileage. Yeah it's a very snappy motor. Thats too hight of rpm on a freeway.
@davieboy1970 Sounds like something is indeed wrong with their vehicle or that perhaps they live in mountainous. I don't exactly take it easy on my accelerator (quite the contrary actually) yet have averaged 26mph in my 2006 v6 and the same in my 2009 v6 Milan. In the 2009, I did notice that my mpg increased from 24 to 26 after the first oil change when I went from the stock oil to full synthetic.
I am driving the V6 Premier AWD version of the Milan and this is one of the worst cars I have ever experienced, and I am not talking about the mechanical quality or reliability. It's the fit and finish, the choice of materials, and the cheap chromed toy plastic bezels and buttons. The interior on the car is an embarrassment.

If you like to use Ipod, this model year doesn't have an iPod jack. They put those in in 2007 and newer Milans.

Those EPA numbers quoted in the video are for the 4 cylinder, NOT the 6.
theville1974 3 years ago
Those ARE the 2006 EPA V6 numbers before they changed them for 2008. The 2006 2.3 figures are 23/31mpg.

I'm pissed at mercury since they turned the cougar into a front wheel drive piece of shit and then got rid of it.

The last Cougar was a great handling little car and while it wasnt RWD, It was still a hoot and made a nice noise.
Mercury is about to become Fords main small car mover and thats fine by me.
