  • the tories are back & so are all the strikes, arthur nearly had the revoution going in the 80s.its a pity more didnt listen to him

  • I sing this to my 2 year old daughter Zoey as a lullaby. I change "eat get laid" to "eat go to work" and she is fast asleep long before "forgive me father...."

  • wouldnt say i dont like this album theres a few gems like this on it but the problem is that amused, pros n cons and most of floyds albums are on a differant level. recorded by any other artist this maybe regarded a classic but hes a victim of his own genius

  • entire album was so underrated

  • @geraldramone exactly...was going to be my comment,gerald

  • it wouldn't matter who was president

  • "do you really think third rate military dictators would laugh at America and burn our flag in contempt...if Ronald Reagan were president?"

  • @olofpalme63 Well, It Might Work.... not

  • @gurulimbo ...lol...go figure

  • Always, reminds me of my dad, and always makes me cry.... :'(

  • @seedaripper2010 "Me or Him" reminds me of my son Brendan who died as an infant a few years ago. He was beautiful and perfect , I miss him so much. This song makes me cry too. I hope your Dad is still with you. I miss mine so much.

  • @MrWill9739

My deepest sympathy. I know how you feel and I also know, for me, things are getting worse not better. I hope you're coping better than I.

  • One of my favourite solo Rog songs despite feeling that Amused to Death is his greatest solo record with practically no weak numbers.

  • Timeless.

  • gilmour make people listen when roger make them think

  • Just amazing lyrics,,Love RW..

  • It al it always touch my soul whenever I listen to it

  • this is my favourite waters song, brilliant.

  • what a tune

  • i love this miserable fucker sublime

  • God bless Reagan.

  • This roger waters at his very very very BEST !!!!!!!!!!!

  • @bigals1000 It is really good but if he didn't blow out his voice than it could have been alot better. His voice right now is much better i went and saw him at the wall live

  • @DavidGilmour240 I have been listening to his new tour and his voice is sounding is still sounding good i have a ticket for manchester am hoping his voice lasts lets hope

  • "forgive me father for i have sinned" it is always a matter of me or him

to all of these people tuned to Radio Kaos

  • pros n cons is one of his best , reminds me of hitch-hicking across europe , how i long for those carefree days again......

  • es el tema mas hermoso que escuche de waters !!!!

  • absolutely love this album, which was extremely under-rated at the time. i think mostly due to the fact that we were all still making up our minds, who's side we were on (floyds or rogers)...Ss

  • I'm a Iranian and i grow up listening to pink Floyd, roger was always was deeper and

more sensitive compared to David,David was more of a poster boy in 60's but undoubtedly a

great artist,in Roger's work you can sense that

he had a difficult chilhood, anyways love their works

  • i remember i couldn't understand the lyric back than, but i still enjoyed the music, and listening to it now takes me back to my childhood

  • I kiiled my old man so my new inner man in Messiah could live...it was either me or him.

  • i think he didnt want us to know, that part was only for him and maybe few ppl to know

    peace

  • a voice said billy, u've fucked the whole thing up.

  • lol

  • one of Rogers best Song I Love it very much!

  • um, I'm just curious...

the "Benny" that Roger is refering to wouldn't by chance be that maniac preacher Benny Hinn?

    just a thought? : )

  • ok ok, sorry...now i understand the album. has nothing to do with Benny Hinn.

    XD

  • I'm sure Benny was his brother, could be wrong

  • I like sandwiches.

  • Cheese n ham?

  • Bread sandwiches.

Its simply three slices of bread with butter in bettween to be honest.

Its somthing about the sheer 'thickness' of the bite that is positively breath taking.

Therfore I require no meat and no salad.

  • Haha that was pretty good and unexpected

  • @angie4josh. microbiotic stuff...marmelade...i like marmelade...

  • @diztanguy hmmm... I cant be bothered with that its so fiddley...scrambled eggs and bacon..I like all cereals.

  • Benny was Billy's brother

  • @angie4josh In the Radio Kaos story, two brothers Benny and Billy (wheelchair). Benny was laid off and feeling financial restraints when in anger he killed someone by throwing a cement block over a bridge onto oncoming cars. This song is about Benny saying it was him or me... all those restraints now forcing him to do a very dirty deed. The album itself, is dedicated to people near their financial ends. Sheeesh Waters was always prophetic and ahead 10 or 20 years.

  • @craftiestdude he wasnt laid off. It was the miners strikes and closing of pits etc. the dropping of concrete block was aimed at a scab worker, who was getting escorted to and from work. This part of the story is true. It happend in swales, just a few miles from where i live..

  • @angie4josh no its billy's brother its about 2 brother's growing up in south wales during the minors strike the song b4 this called "who needs information" where billy Benny climbed up on a footbridge And he teetered on the parapet He said can you see the whites of their headlights. bla bla bla is actually real life incident that happened search "David Wilkie" he was killed on the A465 by 2 miners who dropped a concrete block from a bridge the album is sort of about this.

    Peace.

  • i had the biggest crush on him as a kid hehe i have mum to thank....her influence lol

  • Oh my gosh I'm 15 and I have the biggest crush on him now...

  • Luck you! I'd wish to come back to my 80's to feel it on him again

  • OMG I just love this music why wasn't it ever played ALL the time. I'M IN HEAVEN. thanx MICHELLE...

  • lol...i did literally 'fuck things up'

  • Haven't we all at some point dude?! :o)

  • nice one M.

    great tunes.

  • This has a similar theme with his song "Perfect Sense" in that it goes back and forth between Caveman and Modern day man, absolute Genius

  • This man i a genius its as simple as!...and they say dont sing about politics haha...this was the first roger waters album i heared,it just blew me away,so different to anything else out there..SUPERB...if you havnt listened to the Amused To Death album yet well your in for a treat...thanks for sharing..the man should be SIR .....

  • I love all Floyd music, and I have all the albums. This is the only other album that shares space with them. This stuff is so good. I love it all.

  • I like Pros and Cons best of his solo work, but I still find this hypnotic. Waters' wordsmithing is second to none IMO.

  • I don't know if I can rank his albums. I guess it depends on my mood.

For a long time the only tape I had in my car was Pros and Cons, so I've listened to it countless times and can still listen to it again. So that's a pretty good argument in its favor.

Also, the title track of Pros and Cons is one of, if not the, best Waters songs there are.

This is my favorite KAOS song, and I think Watching TV is the best off Amused to Death (even though it doesn't showcase Jeff Beck's talent).

  • What a grate track!thats what i say

  • my favorite by far . . . .Pro's and Cons. I heard it for the first time almost 20 years ago, and still love it. oddly, many floyd fans that i run into have never heard of it. The lyrics, the story it's great and to truly appreciate it you have to listen through a good set of headphones - to catch all the nuances of sounds and random background noise - conversations, oddities which are roger waters.

  • Great song. I like Roger's shakuhachi playing here. Its brilliant.

  • what a top solo album waters brought out brings some memories this:)FORGIVE ME FATHER FOR I HAVE SINNED. BRILLIANT LYRICS 5/5

  • One of the greatest song writers ever!

  • @huwsbach25 great taste

  • Waters continues to amaze me. Every week i find another amazing song by him.

  • You are really liking him, aren't ya?

Two recommendations for you, my friend:

    Radio KAOS

    Amused to Death

Me, I never got into "Pros & Cons" -- but that's me.

    Waters is a genius.

  • Ive got Amused to death and pros and cons...both brilliant. Pros and cons is the greatest story ever told in my opinion. Ive downloaded Radio KAOS before but my computer messed up and I had to get a new one. Until yesterday i had forgot all about it lol

  • You really think Pros & Cons is up there with the other two then

Hm. I have it, I just remember not being terribly fond of it.

...Time to dig it up and really listen to the thing.

  • Well alls i know is that when roger waters teams up with Eric Clapton its bound to kick some ass ;)

  • this is slightly better than Pros and Cons, but not by much (haven't listened to Amused to death yet :( )

but basically Pros and Cons: if you want the music of The Final Cut with lyrics about sex instead of war, female singers, and Clapton on guitar...you'll love it

(and i know i'm being overly simplistic by saying "lyrics about sex" in fact i think they're great lyrics but this isn't the right song to discuss them...and lyrics about sex appeal to me at this point in time :)

  • Its not all about sex. Its about love and the loss of love. Its a dream sequence put to song and its a hell of a story that covers every emotion. Pros and cons is a great album.

  • I know, like I said I'm being overly simplistic. I agree, I love it, and can't see why the hell reviewers put it down! (Oh my God, there's a chick's ass on it, RW must be sexist!)

  • @1michelemichele1 Radio KAOS and Amused to Death are both amazing albums by Waters, but my favourite from all his solo works is The Pros & Cons by far. It's a lot closer sounding to the Waters-influenced Floyd albums like, The Wall or The Final Cut, which were always my preferred floyd stuff. The guitar on that album is amazing. Clapton + Waters, really high quality stuff.

  • @1michelemichele1 I agree, love amused to death and KAOS. Never really stuck with pros and cons

  • @1michelemichele1 Oh man... UNREAL album... Clapton is unreal... "sexual revolution" is a great guitar jam... And roger's patented voice remained intact.. .Rumor has it, he totally shot his voice during the pros and cons tour... so enjoy it simply for a farewell to roger's magnificent howl!

  • @1michelemichele1 Amused To Death will blow your mind

  • @heyaidkwhut AMused to Death is right up there with the wall and the final cut in my top 5 albums ever, waters puts it in his big 3 with dsotm and the wall.

  • all i can say is 'wow'

  • One of the most under-rated songs on Radio KAOS, but also one of the most interesting.....

    Thanks.
