Good review. I'll repeat that it's nice to see someone your age as serious about this subject as you are. Too bad you'll probably not have use of a darkroom. You'd have an even greater appreciation of the possibilities than most. --Good luck and good shooting.
@4RGUELLESl -- The more I read about the GF diffuser, the more inclined I am to pick one up over going cheap and using a translucent film canister (and I am embarrassingly CHEAP). The GF piece has a rounded shape in both horizontal and vertical directions plus it looks like it has a solid build to it. At first glance, it looks like just another piece of crap plastic, but I think there's something to it.
You seem really passionate about photography. That's great to see at such a young age. I'm trying to get into it and I'm a bit older but have a lot to learn.
It would have been nice to see you use the diffuser just so we can see how it functions in action and to what degree it actually diffuses a flash. Beyond that the review seemed unbiased and thorough. Thanks for the video!
Because, it's better for the light to be lower and closr to the center or bottom of the lens then to be shottoting right out. This technique just works better.
oooh... alright.. saw another video wherein the review was saying how it is adjustable so it matches the height of your flash.. so got me thinking if it was for the height adjustment (flash) or the distance (of the object that is)
I think you should change the location. It's too noisy and there are strange people showing up behind you. Also, a little more enthusiasm and slower speaking would be nice. At least try to pretend that you like what you're doing. Other than that; nice review. Now go and clean your lens!
On the other hand I can't believe how many times you touched your lens and how many times you smacked your camera. It was giving me a heart attack the whole time I watched.. Touching the lens glass! I'm dieing over here.
Look! Young ian from smosh!

Get a UV filter and stop wasting your money on crap.
Diffusing a weak flash is just stupid.

you can also try using white film canisters you can probably get from local photo labs for free and use that as a diffuser

@loudstone You can get these for around 2 dollars on ebay, shipping included. Just go there and search "Pop up flash diffuser."

that's not what the pegs are for kid. They are to adjust hieght according to whatever camera model you are using so its centered on your flash. yeah.

@CitizensIntel he's a teenage lad ffs ,if he wasnt touching lens's he'd be touching something else
cant bring myself to pay that much for a piece of plastic, homemade diffusers can work pretty good.

quick question, why is it better for macro if its lower?
