I am in the middle east. Here the cult controls everything. The IN or OUT barrier of a cult works against you in being able to point out someone is imprisoned in mind control.

Like a horse you need to lead them in the direction they are pointed before you can dream of turning them around.

Hi, I've read the 1st half of the book "Seductive poison" by Deborah Layton, and what you describe here is what she describes in the book. For example, she describes the first time she had Sex with Jim Jones, and how bad she felt afterward. But then she rationalized it with the term "The end justifies the means". I think this same philosophy applies with the witnesses and maybe with any other cult group. Whenever I bring up the child abuse settlement, it doesn't seem to matter to anyone. ES

They do have secret stuff. I've even seen some of it. Nothing too unusual.

For example: elders attend a special training class. There are various research material for compiling talks. Just about every scriptural topic is thoroughly documented. They have historical and relational data on just about every biblical subject.

But to my knowledge, there are no secret teachings or hidden rituals. Some of the secret stuff has to do with overseeing the congregation, and collaborating with the org.
