great great great footage and if you possess remainder of this show, please post ! i have terrible itching jones for neil w/ crazy horse live, which apparently is an endangered species so please post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for your compliments. I will try to post any more footage I have - however - I do not have the entire show. I was filming for a TV station that never ended up airing my footage. The produced kept my masters and I was lucky enough to get analog first generation copies - however - I did not manage to get copies of all my footage so there is more footage (that also happens to be superior in quality due to it being on the master reels) which I (and you) might never end up seeing :(
it was close to being fine - however - it was peeking the levels and getting distorted and boomy -
First mistake was not setting my levels properly before starting to film.
Second mistake was adjusting them too quickly and too much. My mistake. It is however easier to boost them up later than to try and fix distorted and destroyed music.... Sorry either way...
Spoils it ?? That might be a bit strong words by the way - I still think it is an awesome video - how many other clips have you seen shot so close to Neil that are not 'Pro-Shot' footage (even though I am a pro- this footage was never released & is not complete nor shot on Pro equipment or under ideal conditions)? I did have the ONLY video pass issued at the entire festival that year other than to the official festival video crew & I am standing dead center at band height - beat that!
@KVID1000 - No worries - Thank you for the response - I understand the desire for perfection - It is not always that easy when under pressure though....
@TheFatManRocked I know... Made quite a few boo-boos myself videographing at gigs recently. Had my 'please me perfectly' Youtube viewer head on when I first remarked. : )
as far as i can tell, this is the most recent example of what cannot be outdone, so if someone could please fill me in on where the fuck crazy horse is and when they'll be neil's band agin thanks
I went to Bonnaroo with Dad and best friend and the main reason was for Neil and Crazy Horse. I have seen over 500 concerts and this show will always be in my top 10. We split a 10 strip and a 1/4 of shrooms plus a handle of whiskey and I saw the trees behind the stage lift off. Then he went into Cinnamon Girl and it was party time ! At the time I thought the intro of this was 10 minutes long :) Long Live Neil !
@mattjm82 ahaha this is the best thing i ever read. i can just imagine what that show would be like on acid. if rush comes to calgary again im am definitly gettin lit up for that show
Nobody goes thru the motions on Neil's dime. He and his bands are some of the all time most consistant when it comes to giving it too an audience and they leave it all on the field. Of course anybody can have an off night, but no matter what aggregation Neil has out with him, it's a virtual guarantee that the show will kick. His '09 tour was great.
funny, you guys are waxing prosaic about fucking grunge when crazy horse is not even playing with neil anymore, a tragedy which can be grokked fully by watching his new band go thru the motions at glastonbury
Try plugging your computer into your stereo system (if you have one). If you have a line out, use that as opposed to the headphone jack, if you only have a headphone jack, be sure to turnt he volume down when you first plug it in to your stereo, then slowly turn it up until you hear it on your stereo. I suggest cranking up the computer volume and starting your stereo out on low to avoid static or hiss and then adjust your stereo as desired. I hope this helps you out....
LOL. what is grunge anyway?! a clever marketing slogan? the ring around your bathtub? check out the first album with crazy horse, everybody knows this is nowhere, the 1975 (recorded 1973) tonight's the night, and the dvd for RUST NEVER SLEEPS, posers.
I have read that according to Neil Young, the 3 greatest garage rock bands of all time are:
#3. Neil Young & Crazy Horse
#2. Some band playing in a garage right now that hasn't been discovered yet
I was at the first 3 bonnaroo festivals, and saw a lot of great music. this show was my absolute highlight. probably the best show i've seen in my 25 years. changed my life, actually by making me decide to dedicate my life to music. what's up with the video distortion in spots? who has a good video master of this whole show?!?
its so awesome how neil young fell into grunge in the mid 80s and was respected by all modren bands like nirvana and pearl jam its no wonder why he was everyones idol. classic acoustic and hard rock in the 60s i mean damn
this is great. a hymn to rock. we got love to burn so what's stoppin us?

The original volume level was fine. The reduction spoils it : (
