Great, now I can see all of my incomplete albums in plain site!
I wish there was a way to somehow get an output of what songs are missing from each album, and throw that information into a music downloader to get the gaps filled in =)
Two more questions, if I may. Firstly, is it possible to prevent Picard from formatting the track number 1/10, 2/10, etc. when saving information? And, secondly, is there any way of submitting albums, via Picard, which Picard did not identify, or is submittal something done only when owning the actal CD and using the (separate) Lookup software? If so, should I, as a rule, submit the PUIDs MB creates for tracks not yet in its database? Hope all that makes sense!
You'd be better to ask on MB's forums, rather than here. But you can do this by adding $unset(tracknumber)
$unset(totaltracks)
to Options >> Advanced >> TaggerScript.
You must use the website to submit/add new releases. There is a Picard plugin called "Add Cluster as Release" which can save you retyping the track titles if you already have them in your files. You need to familiarise yourself with the editing and style guidelines of the website, however, for your submission to be accepted.
Additionally, you can submit the PUIDs if you want, just make sure you have tagged the correct tracks and version of the release. If you submit bad tagging/data, it degrades the data for everyone :)
What do you do when MB plainly shows your album on the right side, but only recognizes one or two tracks from it, with the rest having two eight-notes to their left? Can you just "force" MB to accept them as being correct?
Hi, if there is stuff on the left side you can just drag it across to the correct album in the right hand side - hope this is what you mean and helps :)
@phkontrol - I don't think that is what he meant. If I add an album to the left pane and musicbrainz recognizes it, it will automagically push it to the right pane.
Sometimes the right pane shows the album as a silver cd icon rather than gold, meaning at least one track isn't recognized. Usually I find that the track is the correct one and even has the correct title, musicbrainz just doesn't mark it as green. Is there a way to "force" musicbrainz to accept the silver ones and turn them gold?
wow!! this program is exactly what i've been looking for!! i was led to MusicBrainz by "Max", a combo ripper/encoder i happened upon...but it doesn't manage tags at all. This looks like an amazing solution! Bring on the Intel Mac port!!!
saved me tons of time, thanks mate

out of date, now. Musicbrainz is good software still but this doesn't help.
