Get your facts right, Cliffy B hasn'T said that he doesn'T like it. He said in the Interview regarding Gears that the game has a bit more interation and doesn't tape the player on his ass watching cutscene after cutscene since Metal Gear Solid 4 is full of it and indeed, that is passive entertainment.

The biggest problem with the MGS series is the over abundance of unnecessary dialog and over-exposition. I've heard that even for diehard fans of the series that they tend to have useless cutscenes and repeat plot points that everyone already knows over and over. It's not my cup of tea, but I won't begrudge anybody for liking or loving it. However no game deserves a perfect 10, and I would question any review source that decides otherwise.

Yeah Gears is short and the characters aren't all that great (except for the stereotypical black man who never ceases to give me the lulz), but honestly saying gears has a shit story and that MGS doesn't is really fanboy-ish. Not that it's bad but it could could really fucking use an editor.
