  • hey, guys, could you recommend me some bands, that play music like this?

'cause other songs by Los Campesinos! are not as dark, as I would like them to be. :)

  • @frayaaa Parenthethical Girls are an awesome band and their lyrics are pretty dark.

  • @BrightLikeLove yay, pretty cool, thanks. :)

  • wow, this song is amaze, i cannot describe how amaze it actually is. To think human beings could come up with something as amaze as this.

  • lol this song is so triggering

  • @RadioDeadSound Yeh, I remember seeing them at leeds '10,it was such a good performance, them and gogol bordello made that weekend

  • One of the touchiest songs I've ever heard

  • to the six people, are you sure you had the volume on?

  • I cry during this song. Every time it plays. I have no clue why? I don't cry often.

  • I want to hate this song, but I can't help loving it. I went through something like that last year, averaging around 400 calories a day. It's not an easy experience, but this song is lovely. Those four lines seem to explain everything you're noticing about yourself, even though nobody else is.

  • It's my favourite song... I simply love it, the lyrics, the music, the video... I try not to cry...

  • Series 1 & 2 Skins Generation Always.

  • Why did 5 people bother searching for this song just to dislike it? They clearly have no lives...

  • @blackout926 unless they happened to stumble upon it one day and genuinely did not like it. Also, fuck off

  • Depressing but great song. Does it talk about anorexia and the eventual death of that girl?

  • @jrfuent i think the hole of romance is boring is a story about a girl or something

  • "Whats up?"

"Oh not much just listening to music, sobbing my eyes out."

  • such a beautiful song

  • janisthegreat I've been to Leeds, I'm not surprised you cried!

  • janisthegreat I've been to Leeds, I'm not surprised you cried!

  • depressing

  • /watch?v=dw5vsgUpT48&feature=BFa&list=HL131

open that link in another window, then when it reaches 7 seconds play los campesinos on a very low volume

  • @amth42 Well spotted. Reminds me of Be Safe by the Cribs. Amazing song.

Type vimeo. com into your browser, then type this in after /1882847 One of my favourite pieces of music.

  • Shock and Awe. This is perfect. This is beautiful. Wow....

  • "no description available*

    So true...

  • This song is so beautiful and inspiring. I feel that I can't get enough of it. <3

  • I haven't even heard of this song before. My friend told me to hear it at least. I heard it, and started bursting into tears. This song is beautiful in it's on sad way.

  • I keep crying even though the song is over.

  • i love how at the exact moment after they say "perfect symmetry" its halfway through the song.

  • When I'm driving back home at night, I always listen to this song, volume turned up loud, screaming my heart out as I sing the lyrics.

    It feels good.

  • Was this filmed on Barry Island?

  • English accent = Swoon.

  • ive liked los campesinos for over a year, but never heard this song untill now. a whole new side of them, an AMAZING beautiful side

  • I dont know how many times i've listened to this song, but it always brings a tear each time and it never gets old :3

  • Something about this makes me remember my friend who took her own life.

  • @0ad0ver1 sorry for your loss

  • "You could never kiss a Tory boy without wanting to cut off your tongue again" -> love this line! Well, love the whole song, but especially this line!

  • this song randomly showed up on my ipod and it is my new favorite.

  • this is Cassie and Sid's song (:

  • ¡Un buen lugar para pensar en el futuro es cuando estás sentado en el mar, con la sal hasta los tobillos y una vista del final del muelle...!

  • I want to cry, I've cried for her too much though...

  • I like it, but just can you please cut out the guy's voice. There's just something off there, I don't know. Sorry if I sound pretentious, no offense at all to the band.

  • @bbking006, I think Gareth's vocal quality really adds a lot to their sound. It's different but it works. I'd miss it if he didn't sing

  • @Jonb2112 Fair enough. It is different, and I understand what you mean. Like I like Isaac Brock's voice but some find it annoying.

  • Actually want to cry listening to this, i miss my girl...

  • actually want to cry listeng this, i miss my girl...

  • actually want to cry listeng this, i miss my girl...

  • and we all know that girl who is everything but always on the verge of just being a bit too far away to hold, and even when you do get to just hang on you know you're not any where near close, she's just too tired to fight any more and girls like that drive us totally crazy but things wouldn't be the same without them.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG with my whole heart

  • i love this song so much. it made me think a lot and realise everything i need to change about my life.

  • not many peoples hands DON'T touch from tip to tip around their wrist but yeah ok jut sayinggg

  • this song is absolutely beautiful.

  • this is so good, i can literally hear the bitterness in his voice, especially with the line "this thing hurts like hell, but what did you expect". and the addition of the shouting in the back ground really gives it that extra kick. i love it, and this song means alot to me too, for personal reasons.

  • Post-holiday blues!

  • I imagine cassie fromskins when i hear this song

  • @nicolecurrer I just imagine.

  • @nicolecurrer you fucking cunt you've ruined this beautiful song for me.

  • *shivers*

  • Honestly, the first time I heard this song, I started crying, it just sounds so sad, and every time I hear it, I keep getting the feeling that I need to cry (even though I've been listening to the song every day for nearly a week straight), and most times I do because it's just such a beautifully sad song.

There needs to be more songs like this

  • @NoahRawlings The singer is amazing. He has a great voice.

  • there should be a love button

  • Hipster beach party

  • @StoneAgeAbortion They didn't sell their souls at all, you've just got no idea what it's like to be a musician. Los Campesinos is still an amazing band. They're still playing good music and they're still playing for the right reasons. They let Budweiser play one of their songs during an ad for the money, yes, but they did not make that song for money. Bands need money too. You lost touch with what makes somebody a sell-out.

  • love this one. and the video too. i miss the see, and the bonfire parties on it !!

  • @jpippinator I respect your opinion, however I couldn't disagree more. Every LC song has a distinct, if interestingly put, meaning. And all of them have stories.

"And I know he took you to the beach, I can tell from how you bite on your cheek, every time the sand falls from your insoles

And when our eyes meet, all that I can read, is "you're the b-side".

This is from ATP and it, although at first seems nonsensical, talks about being with someone who is in love with someone else.

  • @songsinurhead i do love ATP. but to me it seems like along with the stories in their songs, there are a lot of unrelated and random lyrics as well.

  • @jpippinator Seemingly unrelated and unrelated lyrics are two different things. When I write something genuine, it is often both extremely important, and extremely private. Why should anyone have the right to tell someone they're lyrics are unrelated and random because the words don't mean that specific person.

  • @songsinurhead i suppose you're right

  • @jpippinator Well, this was rather pleasant actually. People on youtube are usually just awful.

  • THEY'RE IN BARRY ISLAND!

    just saying.. :D

  • Amazing song! :)

  • This is the reason I fell in love with this group. This song.

  • SOTY 2010

  • with the salt up to your ankles.

  • Does this song remind anybody else of Cassie from Skins?

  • Online marriage service from Asia lushfmlk.info

  • @thisuserrulesdotcom

    ha, me too.

  • You know, I think 676 of those 51,676 views could be from me 'cause i cannot stop listening to this song! It's like a musical masterpiece which brings me to the point why do beiber and Miley have like 456787654 more views than LC? Totally sucks that they're rolling in it for no good reason. /:

  • LOVE this song and the video, i want to watch the sunset on the beach!

  • This song saves my life.

  • I love this song :) i cant stop listening to it :) its brilliant :) xx

  • a friend showed me this band a few months ago and i've been hooked ever since, i love em

  • rediscovering bands/songs is the best thing ever.i love it.love this song soo much.i forgot how amazing it is!

  • that was a really boring music video.

  • I enjoy this video. And also this song.

  • I only hold one thing against lc, and thats only because i couldnt see them because im not over 18. This song has stopped me feeling so sad. Beautiful.

  • @wombat989 That's a shame but its probably your local venue's decision, not theirs. I took my little brother to see them in Bristol on saturday...14+ gig! Hope you get to see them soon :)

  • Amazing! I love this song and the entire album.

I can't wait to see them again and watch them perform this song.

  • From what I've heard of the new album, this song takes the cake for being my favorite. Can't wait for it to drop next week

  • @Flubancuban not really sure if this song 'drops' haha but yes I agree this is my favourite too

  • Beautiful. It takes my breath away.

  • This song a beautiful. I can't wait for the new album!!!

    <3LC!

  • Oh. My. God. I just listened to thing 4 times. So beautiful!

  • this song is breathtakng :D i saw them play it live a month or so back and it got an amazing response from the crowd (:

it sends a shiver down your spine

  • hah! me too! XD

  • This is devastatingly beautiful

  • i overall love everything about this

  • does anyone know where i can download this onto my ipod?

  • @RaeRae324 upload it via bluetooth from the broadband cable coming out of your webcam

  • Most unappreciated talents of our time.

  • How are they unappreciated? Their two inaugural albums sold well and received rave reviews. They get a huge amount of recognition for such a young band. I expect great things from them.

  • Yeah I agree. I don't think I've ever heard anyone say they suck or whatever.

Also, I think this is freaking amazing. Can't wait for the new album.

  • I don't know a single person that knew this band before I showed them to them.

  • @songsinurhead: I bet that makes you feel special, eh hipster kitty?

  • @songsinurhead - get more friends. on second thought, don't. just stay inside.

  • lol The other two have a point. Just because you showed this band to people doesn't mean it isn't well known. It means your friends are slightly more sheltered than you. Don't be proud.

  • @songsinurhead i'd have to disagree. although LC have been one of my favorite bands for the past few years, their lyrics have little meaning and are just silly most of the time. their sound is what most people like, i think.

  • @jpippinator

you coudn't be more wrong! i think this song is about the loneliness of a beautiful girl who the world doesn't want to see in a bad state despite her painful past. her eating disorder is a way for her to control something, anything. it talks about how the seaside is a good to contemplate, it a place of timelessness.

  • @jpippinator That's absurd. They have some of the most intelligent, well-written lyrics of anyone in contemporary music.

  • @Rorypmccarthy I would have to disagree on that. I've always thought they tried a little too hard to be off the wall and different...to the point where the lyrics were dumb at certain points. Not all of them, but many lines leave me wondering what life experience led them to right something so absurd.

  • @wittyfool1357

    bullshit

  • ... well argued. its just gareths voice doesn't for me really fir the song, i really enjoyed his vocals on both albums but just isnt right here.

  • I couldn't read your first comment (voted down too much) but it's interesting you think that... I enjoy his voice in this song, I think his desperate, depressed talking works well here.

  • ha, people voting it down is only because only los camps fans read this and most of them are dumb 16 year olds who religiously follow bands without considering the music. I'm not a big fan of many vocals, I can see why you like it though, just strikes a nerve with me for reasons beyond my concious

  • woohoo, sparky deathcap (L)

  • this song is perfect

  • @laforet agreed.

  • I can't get this song out of my head. To quote Craig Finn of The Hold Steady (another AMAZING band), it's gotten "scratched into my soul"

I dunno. The lyrics or the music or SOMETHING are firmly embedded into my subconscious. It's been awhile since a song has done that for me. <3

  • Heard this live last week in Oxford. It was very loud. Awesome though.

  • i can't wait for the new album. it's supposed to be on the same wavelength as this = VERY VERY GOOD

  • you know you heard it on pitchfork...

  • too right..

  • My favorite Los Campesinos song by far.
