  • he looks younger than he looks. BRAVO

  • Just curious, what happened to this violin? It sounds absolutely amazing!

  • @TheSingingViolinist It got burned in a fire, but now I have a 1964 Becker violin and it sounds even better!

  • @SebCarrasco I'm so sorry to hear that.... Will you be posting a video soon of your new 4/4? Are you still working on the Mendelssohn?

  • Very good!!! I know ur living the music i in my opinion its ridiculous to move while playing but very good!!!

  • @livelyboy1972 I can see where you get your point from. I respect it, but thank you. :)

  • @SebCarrasco I don't see their point at all, music moves people and it is meant quite literally as well as figuratively. To stand so still while playing such things is to be pretentious above the music, just as a singer isn't supposed to close their eyes and lose themselves as they sing, sheer foolishness and desecration.

  • i loved it! the slow tempo was fine. i thought you really brought each note!

nice job i really love this song

  • Même si c'est une version simplifiée de l'oeuvre, je trouve ta prestation très bonne! J'éspère arriver un jour à ce niveau au moins, et c'est pas gagné^^

  • Keep up the good work!-Don´t be discuraged by some criticism, it is really all meant very sympathetic. I believe you have the potential to make a career like J.Bell, but he also is a warning to you, though he is often wonderful. His technical basis is not so solid and his early teachers must be to blame. Remember to move only where necessary, that makes a good tone...You know for sure, what you have to work on--go on, we all (I guess I can say that) love you already and wait for much more

  • @meineke11 with this you are spot on I agree %100 percent, sebastian, you play beautifully and with musical interpretation well beyond your years! however, work on technique!! technique technique technique!!l always before you play work on technique to warm up! SLOW SCALES!!!

  • I think I have to practise more for my vaio ^^

  • Not bad for an 11 year old kid. His intonation was also not that bad. However, i could tell that his version of chaconne is so much different from the original, you can tell by the fingerings and from the added notes from certain passages. Sarah Chang's performance on this piece is absolutely unbeatable.

  • amazing!

  • Bravo !!!

  • This piece sounds great with piano!

  • Beautiful playing! I wish I could've played like that when i was your age! Bravo!

  • He is a very talented little violonist! Congratulations to him and his family!

  • lol i love the ending where he goes back for more claps when there are only like 5 people clapping

  • Good for him. But watch for the unnecessarily high right shoulder, and intermittent vibrato (I don't presume Seb is in the "period" practice). Many of Mr. G's students have bad habits, and he does not seem to know the problems. Get an audition (if you can) from Mr. L and learn what he thinks.

  • His elbow. But other than that? I see what you mean about the vibrato. He's still young so there's time to change. Give him a few years.. who knows? He could be on tour like Joshua Bell!

  • I am just pointing out potential problems, plus inappropriate romanticism in playing this piece (at any age). Yes, he is young, but that does not give him immunity for potential hazards: I have seen so many adult good players struggle with correcting bad habits later on, including your idol, Josh Bell. It is a life of the player, not those of consumers, at stake. Well-informed criticism is what he needs at this stage, not irresposible encouragements.

  • he is really a prodigy.

he is amazing techically and emotionally!

  • he's not good, he's great! a real virtuoso

  • I can hear lots of sensitivity and understanding here!!! I can also hear the effort. He already plays with composure, conviction, and confidence. Add to this the technique, and we'll have a wonderful violinist. Bravo!!!

  • I watched this video with the utmost cynysism... I don't really believe that people as young as 11, or indeed many adults (:P) have the emotional capacity to play a piece like this properly. But Sebastian did very well. He's not Milstien yet but he's getting there. The piano player needs improvement, too! :P

  • But he does achieve playing emotionally. He may be young, but he is one of the rare few young people who understand. He plays beautifully. When Sebastian plays, you can feel the emotion pouring off like silk. I hope I can see him in concert some day... Beautiful job, brings tears to my eyes every time! In a good way, I might add. Wow. Just wow

  • Yeah, very cynical.Just because some violinists don't play with so much facial expression or body movements (which are passionate in action), it doesn't mean tht they are short of emotional capacity. And, he doesn't need to be Milstein. He is himself.

  • Wow! You are amazing! I couldn't help but notice u aren't raising your elbow as much. Very nice playing!!!!! Congrats!!!

  • Very good observation. He is not raising his elbow too much because that is exactly how the instrument is to be played. You only raise your elbow if you have a shorter arm.

  • I believe that comment was actually in reference to one of the older videos up Folia i believe where a comment was made about raising his elbow too much and that this was actually a praise for his correction. On another note this young violinist is incredible!

  • omg it's Mr. Gronnier!!

  • This is so beautiful... You play exceedingly well beyond your years.

  • I agree. Sebastian deserves to be called a prodigy. You will rarely find a person his age who can bring a piece of music to life. I recently asked someone to listen and guess his age, they said 20's and when I told them, their jaw dropped. Sebastian, you are amazing!! Bravissimo young man!!!!!

  • A strong, captivaing performance by Sebastian Carrasco that brings the piece to life with electrifying intensity! There is a unique maturity in young Sebastian's understanding and interpretation of this music, his expression of the notes is a cascade of vibrant colors and feeling. Masterful music, wonderous performance.
