Wow! Speechless. Somehow I never realized how good they were as musicians first time around.

What on earth is going on in this clip? At around 0:17 I can hear a guitar, but Marc is bashing away on a tambourine!
Yeah, at the beginning, he's stroking the open strings inbetween beats, but that isn't open strings at 0:17!

@Strawberry7Lynn
he's hitting his guitar with the tambourine so its open strings ringing naturally and feedbacking.

Damn, Steve was one sick bassist, he could hold his own with Marc.
And this is more proof that Marc is a vastly underrated guitarist... he could really, really play.

He's playing congas, not bongos. Everybody says that. I was next to Mickey when my pal said the same thing and Mickley gently corrected him.
Initially Marc couldn't afford a drummer, and it was easier to move congas around.
Also part of the flower/love/child era was still in bloom.
I think Marc said he needed a bigger feel (stop snickering) when his audiences got a lot bigger.

I never got it why Mickey Finn had to play those bongo's...the drum was enough...
