  • Lets just hope they don't get hired out and flogged to death like the old Locos in Victoria.

  • Well 4464 ,73 ,86 are always out doing some work, there gotta earn their keep.

  • nice to see these old girls...they have the best growl

  • This class looks very similar to GM's famous "F" units that were popular in North America in the 50s and early 60s. The F7's were rated at 1500 hp, the F9's at about 1800 hp, tractive effort was about 55,000-60,000 pounds, as I recall. The F's were built to be run in multiples, with cabless "B" units. I like the paint scheme on these locos.

These are very old girls they ran mainline in the 50's pulling passengers & freight local and interstate.

Thanks for your info and comments.

  • Any idea when 4464 will be trialed?

  • No sorry I am not sure about 4464, I think it's either 4401 or 4464 is the one that doesn't have enough meat on the wheels - she's going nowhere for the time being.

  • @TrainSpotterX

It was 4401 that has the small flanges. It will be good when 4464 eventually gets trialed.

  • Great vid, thanks

  • No worries
