  • I could tell everyone how I really feel about that dude in the sleeveless sweater/blue shirt @ 2:28, but I'm not going to...........because it's just better that way lol

  • This is so sad. First Etta, then Don and now Whitney has transitioned. And she was just sharing tears with El the other night. How many more great ones must we lose?

  • I like this song so much, I didnt notice the moves in the background hahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahaaa

  • Rest in Paradise Don Cornelius....I pray you have peace now

  • Worrkk

  • The guy singing at 2:09 to 2:19 is feeling the song!!

  • i would love to watch all the soul Train episodes..

  • If their choreography matched their singing, they would be UNTOUCHABLE!!!

  • I still love this!!

    Timothy

    :o)

  • You can hear the hiss from the VHS tape!

  • Bless the person who uploaded this video. Amazing Video

  • all these years i thought it was El singing in the beginning of the song.

  • 1:02 => Smells of rotten fish under that leather mini-skirt ! (O.K. ; I move away... >>>>>>>

  • aww i love them!! I just met El and Chico last week xD check out my vids!

  • dude on the far left groovin to his own beat

  • randy and El sound so much alike that when I listen to the audio version, I thought it was El singing the entire song until I saw Unsung and watched this soul train clip lol, they all had beautiful voices, its a shame that they pretty much all succumbed to drug abuse, I hope they can get better and regain that great DeBarge legacy

  • I Like This Song. Very Nice!!!

  • I dooon't think dancing abilities gauge how black someone can be. And that shouldn't be the point anyway. Listen to the music, people.

  • their mother is african american and their father was a drunk white man who abused the whole family. they were raised in church and never rreal did regular music , maybe thats why they cant dance. AND NOT ALL BLACK PEOPLE CANT DANCE.

  • @gjmjajaj Most of us can though.

  • @gjmjajaj Sorry i meant to reply to SpeeLendid

  • @rayt88 How are they blacker than the Jacksons???? They can't even dance!!!!!! The worst group moves I've ever seen!!!!! They ain't black at all moving like that!!!!

  • @bkbelly89 lol

  • @bkbelly89 LOL

  • THAT EL DEBARGE WAS NO JOKE! FROM HIS FACIAL EXPRESSIONS AND ON DOWN! DANG. JAMES WAS PRETTY FINE HIMSELF. AND BOBBIE R.I.P

  • @tayjay1661 PLUS MARK, RANDY, AND JAMES HAD NO RHYTHM BUT SURE COULD GET DOWN. NOTICE THEY ALL MOVIN AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS AND EVERTYHING

  • James was so cute! But boy, was he thin!!!

  • Look at El gettin down lmao

  • They are such a good looking family, and El Debarge is handsome to this day! I guess they just got the right combo of genes! They don't make songs like this anymore, they were great!

  • I thought El was leading the whole song...

  • 9 people obviously don't like it!

  • Wish we could hear the interview part. Soul Train ws the best back in the day. I remember seeing this because I was a LOYAL watcher. This was videos back in the day. EL still has that voice. I love the Debarges!!

  • back in the day when i use to play this in mii rm and a girl was in their she just drop them drallz no question`s asked those where the day

  • man, they should a let them sing it live, i seen el do it better than the record

  • thats randy

  • my shet rite heeerrrrrrrreeee!!!!!!!!! <3

  • @bkbelly89 very true

  • It's kinda possible they were lip singing, it sound JUST exact to there studio version but still Im 15 and I admire old and REAL music.

  • This is music..

    I love it..

  • I’ve been thinkin’ ‘bout you for quite a while

You’re on my mind and every night

My every thought is you, the things you do

Seems so satisfying to me, I must confess it, girl

    Ooh...and I like it

You send chills up my spine every time I take a look at you

    Ooh...and I like it

Girl, you’re blowin’ my mind with the things you say to me

I like the way you comb your hair so satisfying to me, I must confess it, girl

  • If hips don't lie, there certainly were a bunch of different versions of the truth being told on that stage.

  • @monkeymagict too dag on funny, but true. The choreographer must have given up. But they are still bad though! Gotta love them and I pray they will get well.

  • lol seems like they all had a different mission with the choreography.

From right to left: Marty- "Ok, 1 and 2 and step and turn, just like we learned in rehearsal" El- "Hurry up Randy so I can smash this bridge!" Bunny- "Yeah fellas, y'all like what you see?" James- "I'M ON TV!!!!" Poor Randy had no idea what was going on behind him lol

  • Lmao you are so right. I could not have said it any better........lol

  • @superdrum3 This just might take the cake as one of the funniest comments that I've read on Youtube in a long while. It's so true. They were never the greatest of dancers, but their harmony was always first class.

  • @superdrum3 , LOL, LOL You got me with that statement.

  • @superdrum3 Thats spot on! lol

  • That's actually Randy singing the "Say baby I like every little thing U do..." line from 3:25-3:35, right before El brings the song home at the end.

  • I think this clip is from the fam's 2nd appearance on Soul Train (May 1983). Any1 have the very 1st appearance of Debarge on Soul Train? Their very 1sy appearance I think was October '82, the Jermaine Jackson tribute show....Any1 got that?

  • @Tarantulisimo

I don't have that eppy, but I wish I did. Jermaine performed "Tickle Your Fancy" and "Lets Get Serious" while DeBarge performed "I Like It" and "Stop, Don't Tease Me." The former performance was on youtube three years ago, but Cornelius productions ordred the user to remove it from the site. Rebbie and LaToya were special guests on that episode.

  • 8 People don't like it

  • I actually thought El was the only one singing the lead but I guess I was wrong. Those two sound the same

  • @lmfaogirl659 Lol well Randy's voice is a little deeper than El yet its still light

  • Big Feet = Big D**k.....and El DeBarge has some HUGE feet.....just thought I'd put it out there.

  • Debarge R my fam. By the time they got signed in '78-'79, Motown had totally moved 2 LA & that old-school Artist Dev Dept (Cholly Atkins, Maurice King, Ms. Maxine) was no more, or at least never the same. Fam were pretty much on their own with how 2 dance, how 2 carry themselves. They already knew how 2 sing & that was all they needed at 1st. They never had a father around like Joe Jackson 2 beat & terrorize them in2 precision & concentration LoL. Bunny & El could already dance. Love U fam!!!!!

  • @Tarantulisimo Well I muss say i love ur fam!!! i got everything they recorded no lie!!!

  • aaaaaaawwwww shucky ducky....datz my ........JAM

  • I love DeBarge, El DeBarge in particular, but their choreography was terrible.

  • muito bom...

  • Watching them perforn on tvone unsung true artist.

  • This song will never go out of style!

  • I LIKE IT! lol

  • James and Marty are dancing to the beat of their own drum...lol

  • Debare is the best... Good looking, great voice, swagger, style... the total package.. Its too bad he feel off for a while but its great to see him back...

  • that bass ...man that guitar...

  • before lip singing was invented

  • why couldn i have been born when this song hit the records...smh

  • @mrwillwilliams ...lol I thought it was just me.....would have loved to live when these feel good music/songs came out.

  • they all sound almost the same thats why its hard to tell who is who

  • all i can say is damn

  • I thought black folks had rhythm?! Lol! The Soul Train dancers are everywhere and haven't any rhythm to save their lives! Too funny!!=D

  • stop talking about there skin colour damn every de barge video all u talk about is there skin there mixed race big deal !! lets talk about there music !

  • @DctrNugget AMAN BRUTHA / Sistuh

  • The Debarges are biracial NOT black. anyone with a brain stem and common sense can see that.

  • Yes the Debarges didnt care about any choreography but El land Randy sound identicla!!

  • dancing is sooo bad.....song is soooo great! lol

  • i love this song ssssooooooooo much , i wasent born in this era or time but i love this song it touches me

  • Vocês sabem de que ano é mais ou menos este vídeo?

  • james i love u but u be doin yo own thing up there. lol elllllllllll!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @xoxoSiren

Don't pay the 'dislikes' any mind!! something wrong...need ears testing!!

  • he sounds like Micheal Jackson ( El Debarge) :)

  • @supann512 you really think so? i dont know

  • el can still get it :)

  • I pray he doesent go back to the dope....

  • I love songs like this! people my age would not dare listen to real music like this. They just don't know what they are missing out on.

  • DEBARGE DA-BEST! :)

  • Aired Jan 1 1983..

  • When I clicked on the 'like' button, I sang 'And Iii liiiike it!' out loud. haha

  • I grew up on Debarge in the early 80's as a little kid. One of my older sisters was a big fan. She listened to "In a Special Way" almost everyday before school. I might go to Club Nokia in March to see them. Memories.

  • Wow!!! what a performance......adore this song ♥♥♥ xxx

  • Someone said it's Randy and El, aren't they something. They compliment each other wonderfully. What a great looking family. I love DeBarge. I wish they would have become a huge success as the Jacksons.

  • Does anyone know who starts the song . . . is that bobby ? Both El & Bobby have great falsetto voices. When booby sings with switch you can hear that beautiful sound stand out. I love DeBarge

  • @mrvegas1960 the first one singing is Randy. Bobby didn't join the group until about '86, when El went solo

  • @mrvegas1960 It's Randy, not Bobby. He wasn't even in the back at that time.

  • They got pipes.

  • I love debarge but someone had me dying laughing talking about how James is never on beat even swaying from side to side in anything.

  • No matter what mood I am in this is my favorite song of all time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • gotta love the soul

  • Mj RIP

  • never can b mj

  • yes el debarge man i watch unsung and man that was so sad it made me cry that etterlene debarge had 9 children and all of them was on dope man but i still love the group el debarge is making a fire comeback i havent heard his cd yet but im gonna go buy it second chance

  • @MsDebarge there are 10 children and I dont think the youngest 2 every had any drug problems becasue they were never in the industry. And Chico only drug problem was recently after an accident when he was on painkillers and got addicted to them a few years ago

  • @uniquesongstress well exept for one child that nobody knows or even talked about becouse i thought she onley had 9 my bad

  • i luv debarge all of them

  • @bkbelly89 haha

  • love these light skin niggers!!!

  • el debarge is hotttttttttt!

  • RIP Bobby

  • i loved me sum Eldra ..glad he is off the smack...to bad they were all stoned when they did this performance

  • @weeziebusitbaby Actually El was the only one not stoned round this time...it was later on in their career when everything went downhill with him and the group
