Je trouve la jem beaucoup plus belle sa c certain, apres niveau son et bien sa sera également la jem car je suis bon fan de vaï et on retrouve parfaitement sa marque dans le son de cette guitare
I bought a used Jackson Dinky Rev. with very similar features, 24 fret neck, humbuckers bolted to body(no pick-up surrounds), reverse headstock, german floyd rose, because I couldn't find a Hamer Diablo. IT IS THE BEST GUITAR, for comfort and sound. It's pretty light, how much does the Diablo weigh ?
I like tha Hamer's sound more.More rich sound. And the puls-hamers sound way more smooth.Great guitar, i have one in my collection. It had been my main guitar for a couple of years. Now i have a Kramer Nightswan which i like more due to its mahagony body and super clear tone and perfect harmonics.Anyway can check my musc videos to listen how my diablo sounds.
The Diablo sounds much better. Of course with that much gain, it's hard to tell huge differences. But way nicer attack and harmonics on the Diablo. As a note, Billy Joel's guitarist Tommy Byrnes played a Diablo through most of the 90's. During that time, his music sounded awesome live.
He has them both set the best he can for a particular types of music which the guitars are made for. I would get nothing much out of this if he did anything other. These are not Rickenbackers or unmodified single coil strats.
The Diablo has a Fatter more musical tone with rich harmonics. The JEM definitely has a Steve Vai flavor as you can imagine, but I think the Hamer has a more transparent midrange tone,Great Playing BTW
I have had the distinct pleasure of owning 3 USA Diablo's. 2 in Natural and 1 in Orange. They have been the best guitars I have ever owned, bar none. They were the best mistresses I ever had. Hamer in the late 80's (just before the Kaman Corporation took control) they were still producing some very fine instruments. If you are able to find a Diablo, buy it and hold on to it for as long as you can. They truly are wonderful.
I've got an Hamer Slammer Diablo. I know I know...it's lightyears from "the real deal". But in Denmark prices are a bit different from the US, so 10 years ago I paid about 5000 DKR for it. It translates into about 1000 dollars by todays standard:D The playabilty is really amazing!! The neck is smoother than any other guitar I've tryied. I have changed the pickups though. When I have saved enough money, I'm gonna buy the real deal! Rock on!!
Great camera angle.......from a Hamer owner.

@MrRcheek The Diablo is REALLY light too. It's insanely light but it doesn't feel cheap or fake at all.

If you can get a Hamer Diablo II USA delivered by a US seller, you are gold, assuming Denmark doesn't tax you really heavy...

they've exactly the same sound..they're simply indistinguishable if you don't look the video and just listen!

uh, i find that the hamer has a fuller tone, and a bit more sustain in its notes.

i quote... fuller tone, more harmonics, better attack.
