I am exactly the same as Isobboh... the batteries are around the £140 mark which is ridiculously high. Sony's website offers a wide range of accessories and spare parts such as batteries.

I am from Stirling :D but, i got it from a Sony store as I wanted the proper warranty. Good thing i did as well as my first NR Vaio hard drive broke after 8 days of owning it, but they changed it right over & i have had this laptop for ages now & it can cope with a lot of rough & tumble, also can cope with 2nd monitor, loads of peripherals attached & intensive programs running all at the same time.

I have found that I can play HD-DVD's but, mine was the £500 model so, I don't know if it was because I was haggling or something else that got me the drive included

@racm1711 Other than the freezing, slowness and insanely long load times that drove me crazy, this comp is fast, durable it has OK battery life and it can do a lot of things. i thinks it's mediocre.

i have defiled the sony vaio laptop (VGN-NR21Z/S) by installing xp and conventional drivers sucessfully and has been working for 6 months no problems, no vista, no junkware.

you motherfuckers at sony will never restrict me and i have violated the laptop to my own personal uses. they are great for porn.

when I went to buy a vaio I seen the NR and the FZ right next to each other. I seen the webcam on the FZ but I didnt care because I knew I wouldnt use it. @ the time I wanted something rather cheap and good and the NR was 700 while the FZ was 1200 I think. NR rocks if your a student and its well built. Good fast computer. About the bluetooth, i just dont give a damn. Read it sucks the battery quicker anyway.

the let down with the NR is the battery life & the bluetooth & webcam but, I just don't care somehow (apart from the battery life which I rly need)

fz got better screen while nr screen got washed out easily. fz got webcam and bluetooth while nr dont. fz models usually got better graphics.

You should get the FZ as it's better performance & great screen but, it costs a couple of hundred pounds more & is it really worth wasting the money when you could just get the high end model of this laptop? I dont think so.
