yea. The movie was ok, but not as the previous ones or the last one. I don't like the fact that most of the action took place in dark places, I couldn't see very well the battle between the creatures, and also I didn't saw the bond between actors and characters, as in the previous movies, the film was ok, but not very good. my favorites are the other ones,

Does anyone else agree that in Reqium they did screw up by using OBVIOUSLY CGI chestbursters? They did a great job in the first one but, reqium, it was just too easy to tell CGI from real.
I honestly don't like the final concept of the Predalien, but I don't consider it terrible either. I'm actually glad they didn't go with the original maquette design. It just looked really organic and stupid to me. At least you could tell in the film that it was still alien. Plus, Predator dreads are clean and smooth. Maybe that's why the dreads didn't seem right on the Predalien. Sorry about my bad speech, but trust me. I'm a huge fan of the franchise.

@OpVanquisher and that's the exact kind of thinking which takes the essence of true imagination out of movies these days - unless you do CGI well, like avatar, I'd much rather see what we can physically do, in terms of using our imagination to create the illusion of the scene - this is why the original Alien and Predator were so good, the storylines were original, and every prop was a work of art.
@OpVanquisher I agree with you on that one, they have got it wrong in that sense, they wern't very clever in this movie to be honest, it looks like two men in suits fighting. They should have spent more time on that, and maybe created some kind of suit which made the person operating it taller, or used a smaller head. But you have to admit, the animatronics made on the head are pretty awesome, and it's that kind of thing I love about old style film making (without CGI)
I agree. It kind of reminded me of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Men in suits fighting, twirling around using whips with poorly improvised combat. It was just so unconvincing. The half squat with arms open battle pose. The phony looking recoil from expected and actual blows from both combatants It was just aweful. I would have liked the predalien to appear more insectoidal, dinosaurian and skeletal and not like the humanoid it was portrayed as.

It's a real shame that the designs for monsters were put into such great detail and effort, then told that the sequel turned out to become one of the biggest flops in the franchise.
I likea lot the design on the predalien (though dreadlocks thould either be shorter or rigid spikes) but I hated where they went with the movie. They should have followed with the alien novels (or movies), introducing the predators to the mix.
And frankly, the name is Alien vs Predator, not aliens vs predators vs dipshits, They should have focused more on the alien and predator backstory, developing their characters, rather than making them an eye candy in between badly written human scenes.

I love love the dog alien 3 design...H.R giger did it and it is one of the most effective ones. Here we go. Ok so starting with the alien life cycle. There is an egg./host/faehugger/alien the host is simply a body nothing more. The dog alien only ran on all fours. Then comes the avp series. The time span of and alien popping out is two days looking at the alien series. In the first avp it was less than 10 min (retardeed and un true) then avpr (less than 3 minutes) then we have the ''hybrid'' continued....
The hybrid is said to be a queen / alien / predator...mmm k so suddenly it can put aliens down necks and give birth in seconds...no time to develope. The reason for the short time span (opinion) is that the script and characters were sp bad they didnt have time to do character and plot development (which made alien and aliens classics) back to the hybrid. It had predator skin. Predator mouth , random breeding. Dreads (retarded) and stood up and not on all fours. Continued...
AVP was nothing more than a film to keep the kiddies happy. Your 15 now ok...that means you were 11 when AVP came out maybe 10. I was 10 when I was Alien Aliens and Aien 3 and Ressurection (which I dislike alot) when I was 12. I Hated it because the First and second Alien had Oscar nominations for best origonal scripts, Then we have the plot with AVP with horrible acting. None of this is true to the Classics. At 10 I may have liked AVP because I wouldnt know a difference. Thats the difference.

The Aliens vs PRedator strategy game for the PS2 and Xbox was amazing. It gave real insight into the rankings and cultures of the Aliens and the Predators. The Predator game gave an even better insight and now the Aliens vs Predator game for the Xbox 360 is going to perfect both views while we watch the Marines get totally raped.
i never even said anything about the predalien being high tech, i just said that she is a hybrid praetorian with the ability to implant embryos directly into hosts using her mandibles and specialized inner jaw.
the praetorian skin is on the alien side, but there is a predator skin that suppossed to be in the game called alien, probably cause he has xenomorph armor on or sumthing like that. Theres no way a praetorian of any kind, even a crossbreed, would side with its host species.
what i dont get is how they say that they started designing it when fox sent em a script, yet you see it (as a chestburster) with mandibles and dredlocks at the end of the first avp...

@OpVanquisher and that's the exact kind of thinking which takes the essence of true imagination out of movies these days - unless you do CGI well, like avatar, I'd much rather see what we can physically do, in terms of using our imagination to create the illusion of the scene - this is why the original Alien and Predator were so good, the storylines were original, and every prop was a work of art.

@OpVanquisher I agree with you on that one, they have got it wrong in that sense, they wern't very clever in this movie to be honest, it looks like two men in suits fighting. They should have spent more time on that, and maybe created some kind of suit which made the person operating it taller, or used a smaller head. But you have to admit, the animatronics made on the head are pretty awesome, and it's that kind of thing I love about old style film making (without CGI)

I agree. It kind of reminded me of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Men in suits fighting, twirling around using whips with poorly improvised combat. It was just so unconvincing. The half squat with arms open battle pose. The phony looking recoil from expected and actual blows from both combatants It was just aweful. I would have liked the predalien to appear more insectoidal, dinosaurian and skeletal and not like the humanoid it was portrayed as.

I likea lot the design on the predalien (though dreadlocks thould either be shorter or rigid spikes) but I hated where they went with the movie. They should have followed with the alien novels (or movies), introducing the predators to the mix.
And frankly, the name is Alien vs Predator, not aliens vs predators vs dipshits, They should have focused more on the alien and predator backstory, developing their characters, rather than making them an eye candy in between badly written human scenes.

After watching this crap I can see why this movie failed so bad. I cant wait for Rodrreguez to do Predators this year without these dumbasses they have really messed up. Look Alien 3 was when the downfall started they did the speacial effects on that. Then Alien Ressurection they messed up the design on that. And then this Franchise. Good god they =major fail, Cameron Ridley SAVE US!!

It was done to be ''cool'' instead of being true to the origionals which were succesful UNLIKE this movie. Alien one and Two are classics this is not a classic and was not even close to good. I love love the dog alien 3 design...H.R giger did it and it is one of the most effective ones. HOWEVER after he was not used anymore they constantly wanted to change the look of the alien not in a good way (my opinion) He wasnt involved in Ressurection or any of the AVP movies. The designs were done by that tom woodruff and whatever. I think they went too far with trying to make the alien look cool. Instead it become fun and not scary. But I love the dog alien. The cross breed was just wrong.

Here we go. Ok so starting with the alien life cycle. There is an egg./host/faehugger/alien the host is simply a body nothing more. The dog alien only ran on all fours. Then comes the avp series. The time span of and alien popping out is two days looking at the alien series. In the first avp it was less than 10 min (retardeed and un true) then avpr (less than 3 minutes) then we have the ''hybrid'' continued....

The hybrid is said to be a queen / alien / predator...mmm k so suddenly it can put aliens down necks and give birth in seconds...no time to develope. The reason for the short time span (opinion) is that the script and characters were sp bad they didnt have time to do character and plot development (which made alien and aliens classics) back to the hybrid. It had predator skin. Predator mouth , random breeding. Dreads (retarded) and stood up and not on all fours. Continued...

AVP was nothing more than a film to keep the kiddies happy. Your 15 now ok...that means you were 11 when AVP came out maybe 10. I was 10 when I was Alien Aliens and Aien 3 and Ressurection (which I dislike alot) when I was 12. I Hated it because the First and second Alien had Oscar nominations for best origonal scripts, Then we have the plot with AVP with horrible acting. None of this is true to the Classics. At 10 I may have liked AVP because I wouldnt know a difference. Thats the difference.

The Aliens vs PRedator strategy game for the PS2 and Xbox was amazing. It gave real insight into the rankings and cultures of the Aliens and the Predators. The Predator game gave an even better insight and now the Aliens vs Predator game for the Xbox 360 is going to perfect both views while we watch the Marines get totally raped.

the praetorian skin is on the alien side, but there is a predator skin that suppossed to be in the game called alien, probably cause he has xenomorph armor on or sumthing like that. Theres no way a praetorian of any kind, even a crossbreed, would side with its host species.
