Wow hes in seventh heaven here.I use to see him alot a few years ago and he just seemed to disapear. What ever happened to him? He sure belted out all his little body would give. He and Lotti did a PBS show a few years ago and I haven't seen much of him after.

I'm not going to rave about this. This child has a nice powerful boyish voice. The problem hear is that whoever arranged this for him made the mistake that they so often do, when arranging songs for kids, and put it much to low for him. He takes the top notes in a way that show he has much more to give at that end of his range (as one would expect with a 12 yr old boy), but finishes every verse poorly, cutting the notes short and failing to hit the last note, which is the lowest in the carol.

He is singing the German words with a Flemish accent. Verschuere is a Flemish name and the language is similar to Dutch. He was a beautiful boy with a l;ovely voice and great showmanship. But he grew up. Maybe he has a kid who sings.Who knows? Hope so!

Michael Verschuere was born on April 21, 1986 in Eernegem, Belgium. That makes him 22 and a half years old at this time of writing. He is working on continuing his music career and still uses Michael Jr as his performing name. He's still a little young to be working on a replacement model of himself. Thid child has obviously found it!  You can see the joy he has in singing, and his love for Mr. Lotti is also obvious at the end of the video.

I only hope he has more luck that Mr. Lotti, that despite all his efforts, and all deseving, never quite made it in the international scene.

I saw something else similar to this but Helmut was speaking German. The same orchestra was used on the same set. Do they record this for a German and Dutch audience?

Helmut performs all over Europe. In fact Michael toured with him extensively in Europe. Helmut is undoubtedly multilingual. Michael claims to only speak Flemish Dutch but I have heard him in German interviews and although he answers in Dutch he obviously understood all the German comments and questions. Michael now is speaking German more freely and is working on English. Of course he still sings (but not speaks)Italian beautifully.
