The public's treatment of this admittedly unwise but basically harmless incident has been for worse than the crime itself. A buddy of mine and I had a conversation about this the other day. We were talking about how gorgeous she is. My wife in a parallel universe. And I asked him why she would do that. He simply replied, "She wants to be normal."
I didn't see her take anything and conceal it, nor did I see her remove any security tags. This footage isn't of her stealing, it's of her being apprehended. I would dismiss the case if this was the only footage they could provide, it proves and shows nothing.
How about she had a ton of shit that wasn't in bags? How about she couldn't provide a receipt when the transaction had just happened and the store as well as her credit card company had no records of her purchasing the shit she walked out of the store with? There are other ways to prove someone is guilty besides seeing them actually commit the crime.
By the way, she should have been put in prison in the first place, with the maximum sentence available (three years), because of her lack of remorse during the trial.

It's obvious to me, as it should be to all of you that she wanted to get caught, or that possibly, she was completely unaware that she was leaving with the merchandise. Nobody who wants to steal would just walk in, grab tons of stuff, and walk out with it completely visible in their hands. I'm positive that she was in some sort of emotional distress, and was just trying to get help in an incorrect manner.

There is VERY few celebrities who haven't used recreational drugs in the past year. Keep in mind alcohol is a recreational drug, and so is many Rx drugs. So of course, why would anyone pay attention to celebrity drug use, unless its a severe addiction?
