  • it would be wonderful to have any young photos u have of my boy. i still show himsome and often pull him out to demo, but he's mostly out in his paddock with pregnant mares all around.

We tried 2 contact ur dad to find out if Papa had any full brothers or sisters several yrs ago but never received any responce. i would be thrilled to get photos. thanks so much!

  • Craig is my daddy! He was bred in Virginia not West Virginia. I'm sure if I look I can find some pictures of Papa as a colt if you like. We kept all our colts at home until they were yearlings so I should have quite a few.

  • What a beautiful horse! Do you by chance know his sire? I have a stud named Papa Joe's Pride and we bred him to a mare named Royal Delight and I can't help thinking that this could be one of P.J.'s offspring!

  • @ridewithpridetwh Papa is by your stud out of RB's Delight. I understand he was bred by Craig Evans in West Virginia. He's a '98 model and i bought him as a two yr old. I love, love love this boy and he's throwing some amazingly talentd get.

  • and to mention. i have a horse with almost the same blood lines as him. betwen both of my horses i have everyone of them horses names on them papers. they are all magnicicant horses

  • eh. im not to much on that slow. on my horses when you bounce int he saddle a lil is when they look their best. and by bounc e i dont mean bout to kill you and jar u to death,

  • What an awesome stallion. Has he been able to reproduce himself? Any winners on the ground?

  • This is lovely. So much nicer to see than the "big Lick" horses. :) Your horse is happy!

  • Too slow for my taste. I'd perfer a speed racking Tennessee Walker

  • There's absolutely nothing wrong with racking your TWH, as long as you're aware that's what your doing, wanting and you do it for short bursts, giving them plenty of opportunity to blow between bouts of rack. I teach all my horses to rack as an unofficial 4th gear.

  • I'd love to see Papa really turn it own. Maybe you could post another video. This brings a question to mind though. How fast can a horse travel at the running walk?

  • a "quality" running walk should be somewhere between 7-9 mph. I've seen one or two that I thought might reach 10 mph. You hear of faster, but they all seem to start losing form right at the 8-9 mph range... either to the rack or the pace. The headnod goes away, the backend strings out and tail starts bobbin.... There may be a 17 hand horse out there that can do better than 10 mph but I've not seen it.

I will try to get good video of Papa when he's burnin' ground this season and post it.

  • @GND3153 im the same way. ive had nothing but racking horses all my life. and of course 3 standardbreds. lol

  • He's beautiful. My walker's also part of Sun Delight D.'s line. He moves a lot like yours ^^

  • Very beautiful!

  • wish I had the time to train my horses as well as Papa...he is such a pleasure to watch, you can tell he is happy and natural. Always a fan of Sun's Delight D breeding, but its hard ot find anymore.

  • An absolute pleasure to watch! Thank you for using decency and common sense with your horses. THIS is how it should be.

  • Thank you, Papa does what he does no matter the saddle, the rider, in a snaffle, curb or halter. He goes the same in keg shoes or barefoot. He now shows off his flying lead changes and his haunch turns. I have a good friend that rides him sidesaddle in her vintage costume and you can just tell he loves all the attention.

  • Not only is this horse a nice mover, but he looks happy in every single gait. Natural, fluid, and doing what he was bred to do. P.S. Love the Golden Retrievers, too. This looks like a real animal lover's video.

  • Ahhh...I just love that head bobbin! :-) He is very nice!

  • in dressage, rhythm is the very foundation of correct training. in manufactured twh horses, their rhythm is all off, but papa's royal delight has beautiful rhythm

  • Thank You!

  • No this is how TWHs should travel .. How beautiful.

  • Excellent.

  • Now THAT is a horse. Thanks for sharing that video, Papa is truly a magnificant example of what a walking horse should be.

  • What a wonderful video to promote the TRUE naturally gaited TWH. Papa is doing what they should all be doing - as the ole saying goes - "If he ain't shakin that head, he ain't walking." This boy is Walking !!!

  • Thank God for naturally gaited TWHs! This, the real flat walk, running walk and canter of the TWH, are what we should all strive for in our wonderful breed!

  • Thank God for people like you who care about the well being of animals and will stand up to pressures to confirm to abominable practices.

  • Excellent video of an excellent horse; "naturally fluid and balanced gaits for all gaited horses"...great approach.
