Well, ROVs like this should be employed to protect the borders (think quadcopters equiped with thermal/nightvision.. with extended range.. a few of these could be used to protect vast areas prone to illegal immigration and Drug transport. just have a protected landing pad where these units could recharge (kinda like flat cellphone chargers) each has GPS and a predetermined route, only when it recognises activity would an opperator be notified and action taken.

It sure beats putting up a wall!.

I don't get why Sensor has an identical HOTAS. I can imagine what the stick and it's rubber hats control in the disco ball. I can't imagine what a huge Cougar Throttle might work inside her half of the system. I definitely know it's not some sort of hand-over back-up to the Pilot. No side-seat driving for this bird.

It's not a matter of cowardice, it's a matter of practicality. Why risk loosing a pilot and a plane when you have the option of putting only 1 at risk? Pilots cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to train, and UAVs are cheaper than modern fighter aircraft.
