I go in battle for Pavarotti. I was live in Concert 1990 in Minich olympic Halle, to see Pavarotti live. And its true what the critic says, Pavarotti has the danation to sing for everyone himselve. I was there and i'm glad of this.

Years ago, when Pavarotti was in is absolute prime, my Dad and I heard him do a recital with a pianist on TV. He sang mostly Neopolitan art songs, with some opera selections.

I turned my head and my Dad was crying uncontrollably. I had never heard Dad cry before, or ever again. I said nothing.

This is the power of this man. He could touch your soul.

it goes in my soul. Pavarotti had been a gods tenor, who came to earth to give us enjoyment. He was blessed of an angel.

@sanjosemike The recitals where Luciano sang accompanied by just piano are the best. I once attended his recital at Das grosse Festpielhaus in Salzburg and once at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.  Emotionally the most moving experiences. Later the commercial boys took over. We ended up with the mass concerts (arena type) which didn't do any justice to his voice and warmth. To put legends in order I think we can easily say Caruso, Björling, Pavarotti.
