Do yourself a favor. Next time a train goes in emergency like that get away from the tracks. Its very possible that a train will derail when going into emergency depending on the track structure, speed etc. A train going thru a curve into emergency with say empties on the head end with loads trailing...can easily have those empties kicked out by the loads running into them.

From the sounds of this it seems as if they lost an airhose and the smoke is normal but rare when a train is thrown into emergency.
