  • what grade did you get?

  • @bassplayer33952 A for the coursework; I flopped on the exam though so high B overall

  • its nice, but edexcel advise against songs with distorted images. but everything is well captured vocal maybe to present in the mix, this is deffo a high B piece of course work maybe just about an A. remember you shouldn't try to emulate the song directly but do your own version if you can. but its good. xx

  • like it check mine!

  • If you need another acoustic instrument just whack a shaker or some crap in. Sorted.

  • fair play for attempting to cover queen, but there is no way you're going to be able to re-create the power of freddie. but it's a VERY good cover! you have used a piano in the backing during the solo, this is infact a simple synth sound not a piano. but apart from that nicee!

  • nice cressendo at the beginning and am loving the choice of the other driven guitar. i think there may be a little too much reverb on the snare? but i would listen to the original just to make sure. the balance of the vocals is 100% spot on. it was really enjoyable to listen too. 1.45 into it is my favourite. lolz to the synth solo. nice one.

  • @spuddedfish Thanks! :D It was hard to replicate the snare, if you listen to the original, it almost sounds as though there's a gate on it. Looking back now, I think I could of just added a slap back echo :P

  • love your omaba one btw:) especailly the end. how youve used the samples is really effective:) nicccccceeeeeee :D

  • i think i have to agree with Liln00bGirl cos the crash is part of a kit and you could ahve easily just mic'd it up and put a gate on it to get rid of the rest of the kit then put the reverse effect on. if you record each part of the kit completly seperatly i think it would still count as one acoustic instrument. if your short on acoustic tracks just bang in a cow bell Barry White style:P youve done a seriously good job on it thgouh:)

  • @ilovefanheaters Welllll.... for one when the drummer recorded, he didn't really use the crash cymbal at all, and we really needed that reverse cymbal recorded in D: ..and using a gate isn't really that ideal, it just wouldn't be good quality when it's effected.

I appreciate your cow bell idea XD but yeah... this song wasn't really the most ideal to pick in the first place for acoustic instruments, our teacher chose to do this before the stimulus was released :S

  • @Benjowith91fries yer i see what you mean, you can probs get away with that(Y) i think this sounds a pretty hard song choice:P but you have done it really well and nice job on the mixing. i did miss you by the feeling and thats turned out rather well:) DEADLINE TOMORROW ARRGHHH!!!!

  • mate do you really want to put your coursework on the internet for anyone to hear/steal before the deadline? Not that I care you just might want to be a bit careful about that.

  • Sorry to be criticising... but the crash cymbal is not considered a separate instrument to the drum kit, so you only have 3 of the acoustic instruments....

  • @Liln00bGirl The cymbal was recorded seperately and differently to the drum kit, so it wasn't really part of the drum kit at all. It had to be seperate to create the reverse effect on the cymbal.
