  • 64 was better

  • i actually hated coleco vision but now days i wish i still had mines and i didnt hate it like it like i hate playstation i mean like donkey kong jr was fuckin hard to beat at the age of 3 lol

  • My brother had a 'perfect pitch' in the baseball game - if you didn't swing it was a strike and if you did you missed it. He would promise not to use it then bust it out with the game on the line lol.

  • ADAM: The most powerful computer you'll ever play games on, but whatever you do: DON'T USE IT AS A COMPUTER!!!!!

  • Adam sucked balls -:(

  • Mr Doo lol

  • coleco vision is the only system I'll ever need? hmmmmm.....

*looks at xbox360 and my alienware M17x with window 7*

    nahhhhhh I'm good.

  • I just got my ColecoVision yesterday. Hmmm a printer and computer attachment? Good by Windows 7

  • This commercial is wrong. Commodore 64 is the only system I'd ever need. Now if I could just repair mine...

  • That's a prototype ADAM computer in the commercial. It has two floppy drives! The system ended up shipping with one high speed cassette drive and a spot to put a second one. An external floppy drive was made available later by Coleco. As well as by a guy in New Jersey who made a floppy drive, in a metal case. Good memories.

  • Whoa! a printer!

  • This is false advertising!

  • I WANT ONE I WANT ONE I WANT ONE

  • whoa... high tech gadgemagoos. It still looks 10x better than the NES orriginal.

  • LOL "the only system you will ever need" haha. Maybe back then you could fool an average Joe into buying this thing, but today ppl change electronics every 6 month lol

  • That guy looks like Bill Nye!

  • Adam is evil

  • COLECOVISION FOREVER

  • @exposed97

no but windows could probably run adam.

    Both sexually and electronically.

  • The only system I'll ever need. Ok, kick the fu** PC out of my window. Cool.

  • A guy asked if Adam could run Windows. lol It only had 80 kb of ram. Plus the processor sucks. lol Windows needs at least 256 mb of ram. lol

  • I love the Exposed97's question, "Can Adam run Windows?" lolol That is just hilarious!

  • yea but not many people had thease things at this time

  • Read the text on the screen at about 0:23. It says, "It can correct a mistake within seconds after typing."

Now look at the line below it.

"As shown a line is easy to INSET"

Ahh, good to know that INSETTING lines is easy!

  • that was the coolest shit i had ever seen in my whole life :D me and my brother used to play the heck out of this :)

  • My dad bought us this system back in Xmas 1982. I remember he forgot to take off the sales ticket. He paid a little under $300. This was thee system to have around my neighborhood. I miss those days and my Colecovision.

  • I still have my Colecovision system. I lent the power cord and the controllers to a friend about 15 years ago who had the system minus these items and never got them back. Man I loved that system way back in the day.

  • I had that..they never mad adam the fuckers

  • @sketchyfolk They did, you can even watch the review on youtube.

  • 1980's Wii.

  • @Tributor123 more like 1980's PS3

  • Now I have DoubleVision! seeing two game systems with the same controllers.

  • uh are you sure its the only system i need? becasue uhhhh i own an atari

  • beats out the ps3 by a mile,eh"

  • i love coleco ...the graphix were great

  • Dude the baseball controller was sick, the faster spun the dial, the faster

    the player ran!

  • WTF? @0:20.. That's not what the Adam module looks like. It uses tapes, not disks or is that some kind of duel wafer drive?? Must be a prototype or mockup.

  • Yay, a Sega game.

    It was shit.

  • After surfing the internet and youtube maybe he is right

  • i can't wait to ebay this..it's the only system i'll need...shit...and i'm throwing away my xbox360 and ps3...and wii..wtf was i thinking.

  • 2010, and it's still the only system I've ever needed. I'm not getting the so-called high-tech NES.

  • @dogeymon83 dude, the fuck? The NES is from the 80s as well...it's not that new.

  • you might be laughing, but these guys really took their time to help us reach what video games are nowadays

  • a the nostalgia years where mullets were fashionable and women wore shoulder pads as a fashion accessory as well as big hair dos ask ur parents about it lol

  • @chunknorris1970

that's pre-nostalgia to me, by about 9 years.

  • Adam is still the most powerful computer ever made. They were force to discontinue it after the Pentagon found out about it's abilities. All Adams were subsequently seized and owners incarcerated and interrogated at Guantanamo. I still have mine though.. I will be taking over the planet with it soon...

  • @bluesgurugod I told the boys at Gitmo. They'll be knocking at your door any moment now...enjoy your waterboarding!

  • @bluesgurugod Emulation FTW.

  • @bluesgurugod If the Men In Black hadn't forced Coleco to swap the disk drive for a tape drive, you'd have been able to take over the world even sooner. There's no telling what this sort of technology could do in the wrong hands. Keep it safe. Keep it secret! I won't even begin to tell you about my attempt to overclock my Colecovision's Z80....

  • @bluesgurugod Not if I use my PS3 to launch missles at your secret underground HQ. LOL

  • @bluesgurugod What is its capabilities?

  • @bluesgurugod Praise be to Adam!

  • This is very 80s!

  • cool i really want a colecovision

  • I'd like to understand how to press the triggers on the special Action joysticks and how to plug the expansion modules #1 and #2 on the Adam.

Anyway, was it a good home computer?

  • "the only system you ever need" RIGHT They have the system 9.000.000 adapters computers and stuff. That's all 1 system daaaaaam!!!!!!

  • lol this is hilariousss!

  • great video!

  • Great one!

  • I had Atari 2600, 5200, Magnavox Odyssey 2, Intellivision & Commodore Vic-20 + Commodore 64. My friend had a Colecovision. Thank god for emulators!!!! Now I have ALL the above mentioned systems + ALL their games & software + about 50 other 8 & 16 bit systems + software & 1,000's of arcade games. I do love these old commercials btw. Thanks for posting.

PS: When I was 13yo I shoplifted Gorf, Donkey Kong Jr. & Bump'n Jump for said mentioned friend's Colecovision. From Child World I think.

  • I always thought the coleco was a better system than the 2600 but the freaking joy stick(if you can even call it that) was a pain in the ass..but difently coleco

  • Hello! I'm a Morrison too! hehehe...

  • I want an ADAM, if it works...

  • yeah,me too!

  • Colecovision wasn't a crappy system at all. Adam was a piece of crap, but Colecovision actually had the best graphics of all the systems at the time. I probably spent $1000 on all that shit LOL

  • The ADAM doomed Coleco, and Colecovision. It was probably the worst home computer system ever to make it to market. My friend had one. Never worked right. Printer was NOISY. Not even the profits of the massively popular Cabbage Patch kids could save Coleco after that.

  • Trying to develop & market a home computer is what also destroyed Mattel (Intellivision).

  • The quality of Colevision games was really spotty thats what did that system in. I mean their best game was Smurfs. It was fun but any self-respecting pre-teen boy felt a little lame playing that game.

  • Damn right it was/IS fun. I still like it. I play it on my Atari 2600, Colecovision & Commodore 64 emulators. You know what else game is surprisingly just as fun? Cabbage Path Kids! Oh, and B.C.'s Quest for Tires. All similar type games.

  • until it was discontinued the next year

  • @Poleyonline actually 1985 (technically), but like NONE were selling after earlier 1984...

  • @whattheheck1000 Nothing period was selling after early 1984. At this time it was generally thought that gaming consoles were a thing of the past and that everyone would be upgrading to an actual computer.

  • @TheLastBrainLeft Very few game consoles and video games were sold after 1984; the video game industry "crashed" from $3 billion in 1982 to $100 million in 1985 - a 97 percent drop in three years. 1984 was the "crash" year - the year of the huge drop in video game sales - while 1985 was the "dead" year with the Atari 5200, Vectrex, Intellivision, Atari 2600, and Colecovision gone and the NES only available in New York City from October 18, 1985.

    March 19, 2011 10:30 pm

  • LOL the only system you'll ever need

  • Is that Dave Steinberg?

  • that little logo at the bottom during the end is the guy coming thru your window to steal all your Coleco stuff.

    $400 out the window! Literaly!

  • I like Coleco better than atari in some points. Controls suck though

  • it looks like the colecovision had the best graphics compared to atari or intelavision.

  • i really miss the 80's computer scene. it was so full of wonder and possibilities. i remember a book i had saying one day we will use a vic 20 to control everything in the home. ahh happy days

now it's just spam, virus' and generic FPS' oh and porn lots and lots of porn

  • And Memes.

  • A printer to a Console????

  • game boy had a camera and a printer too

  • The ONLY system I've ever needed.

  • I need one... and 29 more systems.

  • I'm replying to this message from my Coleco Adam.

  • cool

  • @DominoEffect66 i want to see a picture of that!

  • ColecoVision could've been the greatest. But it was ADAM that killed the beauty.

  • I think you're right 'cause even with the Adam computer, it still wasn't like the arcade. This could have gave people a weak perception of the system afterwards.

All well, at least we can get white controllers for the system instead, that's cool.

  • It's the sweater that gives this commercial authority.

  • Favorited!

  • I can't decide Colecovision or the Atari 7800!

  • Buy both.

  • Our vision is your vision. COLECOVISION!

  • i got mine today for 80$ :p

  • LOL! The only system you'll ever need!

  • yeah true what about a toster I NEEDZ MAH TOATS *goes and hides in a corner with a toats* ITZ MINE!!! MINZE I SAY! TO YOU!!! *twitches*

  • Had one of these as a kid. Rocked. I asked my parents for the Atari 2600 expansion module and i got the Super Action Controller that we never used. Go figure. Great vid. We had the ADAM too it sucked and didn't work.

  • Did someone remark they are showing a beta version of the super action controllers, without the keys 0 and 9?

    thanks for sharing this video.

  • The only system you'll ever need....until the big video game crash of '84!

  • if only they still made console ads like this!!

  • "The only system you'll ever need."

OH now you tell me eh?

  • @notyoursavior78 Yeah, about 27 years too late!

  • @notyoursavior78 Great, after I buy a NES, SNES, GEN, Sega CD, 32X, Saturn, PS one, N64, DC, PS2, Xbox, 360, PS3, & Wii... At least my local HPB has one for $40. I guess I'll so sell all my consoles for one.

  • @WebVMan

haha yeah unfortunately I got eBay bid sniped for a Colecovision system (in the last three seconds literally) for a good price that came with a crap load of games and the modulator that let you play Atari 2600 games. I at least do have a Atari 7800 and some other systems.

  • ever!

  • ever?
