  • Did anyone think that they'd destroyed the baseship in one shot at 0:59?

  • Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome is coming in 2012. It is about the first Cyclon war.

  • After such an epic season finale, why couldn't they just commision another season (1980 does NOT count)

  • @coyran they canceled it because it was too expensive for the audience numbers back then at least that is the official story. i have seen both the TOS and Moore's Reimagined version of the series. I like both but i like Moore's verson better. (then again i am of a younger generation). I like the more realistic Characters and the political intrigue to me it makes the story that much more complex human and over all more interesting and realistic.

  • @coyran also I've read that the reason why they made Galactica 1980 is that is was a cheaper show to produce and screen thus the story was extremely clunky at best. Anyways, can you tell me in your opinion in your own words why the original is better?

  • @Crusnik2000

I never really said that the original was better, just that this finale was quite epic. Like yourself, I appreciate the reimagined version for it's characters behaving like actual human beings (something often lost in sci-fi). Ultimately I'd say I prefer the reimagined version too, but I always enjoy a classic 70s sci-fi. On that note, I wish somebody would reimagine Blakes 7, that would be a potential gold mine!

  • @coyran thank you for clearing that up. you are right they should do a reimangining of Blake 7 and a restoration of Babylon 5 with updated CGI. even though they Babylon 5 has aged well it would be Spectacular with Galactica Level CGI wouldn't you agree?

  • @Crusnik2000

I'm sorry to say I've never really watched Babylon 5, which is a shame because I imagine I'd really enjoy it. As for Blakes 7, it really is a shame sky dropped it for more wholesome family bullshit.

  • @coyran Babylon 5 is a really good series. it is a 5 year story arc about the last of the Babylon stations and more importantly the raise and fall if empires. the series it's self has a multilayer ed storyline that is really well written and thought out. It is also one of the first scifi series to use CGI on a large scale. if you can look past the primitive cgi you should really enjoy it. you should find it in stores and the good news it should not be all the expensive.

  • Question: how do you have a Aft Mega Laser on a ship that is a rotates??

  • hahaha rofl epic! :D

  • I guess 2 people needed that electronic felgercarb!! :)

  • I just love the IL series Lucifer and Spectre. They are hilarious and soo cool. Plus the real centurian cylons which were soooo shiny that they glistened. Utterly beautiful.

  • At least the original series had Black characters in it with Boomer and Tigh.

  • Which one was the episode wherein Brett Somars plays Adama's love interest? She was more interested in him than he was in her.

  • @FormicHiveQueen

News Flash I have sat down and watched the new version and simply put don't think much of it.

  • @cpicard2001 completely agree... it's for kids today... anyone who grew up with the real BSG knows the new show is just too different to even be called BSG.

  • I've been looking at several BSG videos and I keep seeing mention of glen A. Larson doing a new BSG movie. I haven't heard anything about this. What's up? When's it supposed to come out?

  • Finally glad to see Glen Larson bringing back the original and superior version back for a new generation of fans.

  • With all the battles the fighters get to have in this series, it's nice for Galactica and the Basestar to have their own tussle.

  • i love how organic and nasty the raiders are in the new series.

  • Memories lol :D

  • I love Battlestar Galactica so much more than I do Star Trek. . .There- I said it.

  • @XxBeatlesforeverxX They are to announced when the feature film version of Glen Larson is to be released this year.It will be just like the original, not like Ron Moore's version.

  • The series went out in spectacular kick-ass style!

    And a twist... ^_^

  • The Cylons sure did get some very cushy seats in their fighters. Ultra comfortable for machines to sit in. The cushions in those things are like what we humans would watch TV in. And the cockpit itself even looks like a child's bedroom :D

  • THIS IS BATTLESTAR GALACTICA. No hermaphrodites, no nymphomaniacs or closet homosexuals. No boring political intrigue or ancient soap opera plots, just a wholesome entertainment

  • @quacksacker Hermaphrodites? Are you suggesting the reboot has hermaphrodites in it?

  • Ouch... closet case?

  • @quacksacker Who are the hermaphrodites, nymphomaniacs and closet homosexuals you are talking about?

  • loI forgot how brainless the women were in this.

  • Tigh.. you magnificent bastard I READ YOUR BOOK!!

  • The Mighty Galactica did it Again........

Did the Battlestar have Auxillary Cargo-Landing Bays at the rear of her Forward Hull ? The Galactica was a SuperFortress in Outer Space. She is up there with the Original Enterprise ,the Jupiter 2 and the Millenium Falcon.

  • They sound like they all are huffing helium!! Lol!!

  • Well, that was...silly.

  • aww the good ol days

  • The same footage was reused quite a bit as they got into the series. There was no CGI back in 78 and they didn't have the budget to create new effects for every episode. But it's still the greates sci-fi show ever.

  • 0:58 love the quick hand motion by adama, guess he got too excited.

  • Scenes 1:14 To 1:17 Were Stock Footage From "The Living Legend"

  • Dont those Cylons ever look out of the window?

  • What window?

  • With all of the battlestars destroyed by the Cylons, the Galactica must have been the best one built along with the Pegasus. The Cylons must have feared the Galactica more than the other battlestars.

  • @wigglywoman The Galactica survived because Adama suspected foul play and had his crew and squadrons go to battle ready before the invasion at the peace conference started. The other Battlestars left their defenses down in a gesture of good will, even though Adama urged them to do otherwise, and got owned pretty quick.

As far as construction goes, it is established that construction on the Battlestars was fairly standard, and the Galactica was at least 500 yahren old by the time of the show.

  • Why the forward lasers were not on the Galactica and the other Battlestars earlier if they are powerful to take out the baseships?

  • In Saga of a Star World the Battlestars were caught with their pants down by the Cylon raiders which were based in deep space and fuelled by tankers. By being set up like this, the baseships went out to the defenseless Colonies and launch their own raiders on the them.

  • Many considered the attack like Pearl Harbor and 9-11.Blame stupid politicians who put our lives at risk.

  • It is speculated that FDR knew that Japan was planning to attack Pearl Harbour, but did not do anything to stop it, as the attack would give him the backing of Congress to go to war with Japan.

9/11 was similar in that GDW figured that there would be a terrorist attack, but allowed it to happen, as it gave him the reason for invading Afghanistan, Iraq and the development of the Patriot Act, the Dept of Homeland Security and so forth.

This has happened through history, and will happen again.

  • Your comments are true.Did you know the reason Japan attacked the USA was due to an oil embargo our government slapped against them for being friends with Adolph Hitler and the Nazis? The late Peter Jennings did a documentary of the Pearl Harbor attack and showed footage of Nazi and Japanese officials meeting.Japan had a deep hatred of the United States.

  • I wish I could extend the battle scene,it is too short but still good.I also love the humming sound of the Cylon baseship.

  • 2:28 Adama "Thank God for that" Uh shouldn't he have said "Thank the Gods".

  • btw, 4:00 Why should Cylons have "pillows" on there back if there are robots and for them they dont care, xD

  • They are made of metal and would need cushions to protect themselves from the multiple G forces caused by acceleration. Otherwise they would be damaged.

  • ok , got little confused. btw do u also know why they are suing laser NOW and HE(highExplosivs) in the future? isnt laser better :S?

  • laser puts a small dot onkt

    no explosions

  • What do you mean, don't really understand what ya meaning?

  • @Litzen2k

    was talkimg about laser

    they are not powerful

  • ahh i see. But if you compare laser with explosive weapons , laser would kick the explosive weapons back to the renaissance..

  • @Litzen2k

No not really laser only produces only a small dot

You need something like V'Ger Star trek the motion picture) to produce something that will be destructive. Its really impractible and so high explosive are better . Plus you wouldn't see laser due to its nature.

  • I don't think you see my point.... Laser = Burns thourgh steel and no stop (consecrated light = Effective LONG range weapon)

That what i mean about laser is better for Battles..

  • Actually the Airforce Has a Laser that is destructive, It is mounted in a converted 747. The airborne laser is designed to lock onto ballistic missiles, & destroy them.

  • @kdraper2007 So you think a country with ballistic missiles wouldnt have some SAMs to blow away a big slow ass 747?

LOL The air borne laser is for zapping people on the ground, not for taking out ballistic missiles.

  • @labartic actually the airborn laser that the air force has is for taking out missiles while they're still in boost pahse.

It also has the ability to fly higher then many sam's can reach and I'm sure would have electronic countermeasures.

  • Your thinking of Particle beam weapons, not Lasers. Lasers are fairly short distance weapons only a few tens of miles.

  • Ahhh, okay. But cant never understand why they changed there "laser" guns with HE shells...

  • Col. Ty: Battle stations seal all compartments. Lock Bernie Madoff in his compartment. Adam: Damage report. Omega: It's extensive commander Madoff stole all the food and robbed Starbuck of all his cubits. Adam: Thank God for that. At least he didn't get his hands on my ambrosia.

  • LMAO

  • Even though its really old school, it's a cool scene. I liked how close matched they were, Galactica and the BaseStar.

  • @BlackValkyire Yes it is a cool scene However according to Baltar, a Base Star is more powerful than a Battlestar, The only reason they won is because Starbuck & Apollo knocked out the Basestar's Scanners allowing for a 1st Strike, otherwise The Basestar would have won, But The Pegasus did take on 2 under Cmdr Cain, only by steering between both of them and firing missiles at Point blank range, though Starbuck & Apollo did take out some of her weapons.

  • @BlackValkyire Uh, they weren't closely matched at all.

  • i like to waggle when no ones around

  • Waggling?! LOL

  • @indysid Apollo and Starbuck were carrying an identification transmitter with them on the stolen cylon raider, so the viper pilots knew not to shoot them down (they kept talking about a 'red dot')

He joked before they left for their mission, that if they lost the transmitter, they will just "waggle their wings"

And of course, they lost it.
